I’m very impressed with Bill Hader’s Japanese Dwight by the way. I’d like to see them do this with other countries as well, although I know that there are versions of The Office in about four other countries besides the U.S. (for real).

Ironically enough, Hulu can’t be seen outside the States, so I apologize to my international compatriots on behalf of my dumbass country’s distribution laws.

Fox’s new latenight skein fronted by Wanda Sykes is off to an encouraging start, with Saturday’s bow outperforming the net’s delivery with “Mad TV” in the timeslot a year ago.

The premiere of “The Wanda Sykes Show” averaged 2.2 household rating/5 share in Nielsen’s metered-markets from 11 p.m. to midnight, up 16% from “MAD’s” fourth-quarter average meters (1.9/4) and double what Spike Feresten’s show did last winter (1.1/2).

This begs a couple of questions from me. The first one: Is MAD TV ever going to go off the air? Like, do people watch this show? Granted I know SNL isn’t all that great anymore (in fact I think it sucks even though this week’s having Taylor Swift on was a nice boost for the ratings) but this is getting a little ridiculous is it not?

Second of all. Wanda Sykes is funny. I don’t care what people say. Yes, her voice is extremely annoying but something tells me her show might make it. However, this brings me to my second question. Can we stop doing the name of the actor plus the word “show” titles please?

It all began with “The Bill Cosby Show.” But now I think the thing is a little over done. I mean “The Bill Engval Show?” “Reba?” Trust me guys there are a lot of them out there. Whatever happened to creativity?

Eh, I guess that’s my gripe for the day. Carry on.

I was worried about buying Dragon Age, worried because it was Bioware, the company behind one of my all time favorite games, Mass Effect, and worried because of the slew of positive reviews it was getting from every gamer mag and website on the planet.

Why would that make me scared?

Because somehow, I knew I wouldn’t like it. And I don’t, I really don’t. At least, not yet.

Between Mass Effect 2, and the epic Old Republic MMO Bioware is making, I had to think, “How they hell are they possibly squeezing this game in?” So far, the result is pretty clear to me, they rushed it. And it shows. Most of this first journal will relate to the story and dialogue system, the main tenants of any Bioware game. Gameplay is really just a secondary component, and I’ll talk about that later, but know that more or less the game plays exactly like KOTOR, except they don’t call the dice rolls “dice rolls” anymore.

I’m about twelve hours into the game after a weekend of playing, and my party currently consists of myself (a human warrior named Ethan, a carryover from Mass Effect), my dog (a war hound named Chips, a carryover from Fable 2), my hot naturist mage who isn’t really a fan of wearing shirts, and my gay elf rogue, yes, my gay elf rogue.

I’ll be honest, when I requested a Prawn costume while writing my “Best Halloween Costumes of 2009″ post, I didn’t really think anyone would come through. Thankfully, I misunderestimated our readers, and Ian sent in this kickass costume he made from scratch…in only 120 hours. Wow. But yeah, it definitely paid off.
My plan was to cut the claw off a lobster costume and put a yellow contact in one eye, but this is way, way better. This “submit your costumes” thing wasn’t really a contest. Until now, because Ian wins.

There’s one more full length photo of the prawn after the jump, and go here to see a full photo documentary as to just how this thing was made.

I have been saying this FOREVER. The Onion is FINALLY getting it’s very own half hour TV show on Comedy Central, in a new deal reported by THR. Sadly, no credit is being given to me, the person who has been saying this for years, but hey, whatever, as long as it’s happening.

I have been saying this FOREVER. The Onion is FINALLY getting it’s very own half hour TV show on Comedy Central, in a new deal reported by THR. Sadly, no credit is being given to me, the person who has been saying this for years, but hey, whatever, as long as it’s happening.

I’ve long believed The Onion would be a perfect companion piece to Stewart and Colbert as it’s PURE satire, and would be one level past Colbert on that spectrum of news reporting with seemingly legitimate news reporters, graphics and sets, all reporting on purely fictional news.

Wait, what’s that? The series is to be based soley on the Onion Sports Network and will only cover sports?

WHAT THE **** GUYS, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
