December 2011- Designer Studio Presents: Sheer Haute 19th Annual Hamdard Gala, Featuring South Asian Designers As Seen in International & National Fashion Weeks, incl Milan Fashion Week & VOGUE ITALIA

This year donned bigger than the last! Of course UR's client, Luna Malik-Bunari of Designer Studio, presented some of the industry's best designers- the lineup: Deepak Perwani, Rizwan Beyg, Shameel and Sania Maskatiya. These relevant designers are today's HOTTEST South Asian couture innovators- no strangers to fashion buyers and consumers at US and international fashion weeks- one a standing ovation while reviewed by British Vogue's Hilary Alexander.

UR SuperModels knows when Luna hires, she rep's the most sought after and acclaimed designer in its right, while we graciously have the honor to showcase her Chicago runway events. The community and mediums flocks to her shows in demanding numbers to cover and buy, buy, buy the latest south asian fashions just off the international runways. Past compelling designers UR has shown have included, HSY, Nomi Ansari, and Umar Sayeed, aka, "The Valentino of Pakistan." 2012 update: We have just learned that Designer Studio has expanded as of March 2012 to the New York & DC markets.

q: As our reading guest, what can one expect of this full fledged featured entry?

a: It'll be like you were at the November 2011 show! First, our favorites photos from the runway, behind the scenes video, then words and credits. It was reported the Hamdard Center raised nearly $250,000, selling individual tickets at $125, but mostly tables of ten, live auction, over 200 sponsors, and vendors, providing guests with an outstanding dinner, 30 minute high couture fashion show, and acclaimed live music performance, with Master of Ceremony ABC-7 News Ravi Baichwal to satisfy the non-profits annual mission.

UR SuperModels was responsible for booking makeup artists for 12 models & 20 dancers, hair stylists (same), runway models, pairing wardrobe model of 100 looks, backstage direction before and during the show, as well as fashion show photography- most of the artists booked were all developed in-house UR Artists and UR SuperModels trained runway models -Asha Spacek as their artistic director.

q: How was UR SuperModels & UR Artists at ursupermodels, part of this 19th Annual Gala?

a: 2011 was another year UR SuperModels is the exclusive management to provide models, AND for the first year, also hired for backstage fashion show direction for the annual Hamdard Gala by Designer Studio, producers & creator of the show. Artistic Director, Asha Spacek was asked to act as production asst/casting director, backstage director pre, during runway, and post vip lounge/media production, and co-stylist for 100 pieces, 7 UR SuperModels (1 prospect fly in model & 2 guest local models rounded up to 10) during a 30 minute show including provided dancers. Asha booked UR Artists hair stylist Jason Patrick, and new hair color specialist/hairstylist Darion Denise to create the 2 looks choreographed with a 7min performance break to satisfy the palette of an approximate 900 guests. The schematics were instructed from Designer Studio and the designers themselves, while it was Asha and her team's responsibility to convey, execute, and deliver those requests in a timely fashion, while also controlling the runway pace and choreography, plus wardrobe changes. Images were captured by new in- house event photographer Conrad Castelo, whom Asha has dedicated the past year developing and is now referring for fashion related events. We thank one of our go-to affiliates, London Eyes Inc, sponsor of select makeup artists to help save budget for the cause, and yet expose their budding artists to the backstage elements they can expect if they continue in this realm of makeup artistry.

"Being able to co-produce, direct, and style such infamous works that have shown in major fashion weeks, is an honor! Luckily, I am finally building a team that supports my 'day one' vision: mesh the world of fashion, music, art, with giving back! Designer Studio is a long-term client and confidant; I love what I do, and I know the blessing will be returned," Asha is noted. -link to designer videos and articles are below

Company reflects...
Since taking on this dual booking near the same time of UR's annual showcase, we decided to scour our event which usually brings awareness not only to new and prospective models and artists, but also to a non-profit. "It was a no-brainer AND a win/win," explained Asha. It made no sense to compete against causes, nor overexhurt our team. Part of the UR SuperModels mission, is to hopefully select one non-profit with fundraising efforts and production per year. Not only was it [Hamdard Gala] a beautifully gratifying production, but emerging models and artists were rewarded [not knowing when booked] highlighting some of South Asian cultures biggest known designers that have recently crossed into the US fashion week market. The client was satisfied and we look forward to being booked in 2012.

October 2011- So it was almost one year ago, UR SuperModels Artistic Director, Asha Spacek produced the Winter 2010/2011 ad campaign for Oak Street furrier, Fabbri Furs. Since published by TCW Magazine in January 2011, the "face" imagery has become Fabbri's full window display (seen above) at the historic, Drake Hotel since late Spring/Early Fall. A highly desired [and rarely available] window space facing stores like Louis Vuitton and Bloomingdale's, UR SuperModels is quite honored to allow emerging artists such an opportunity to work on this last minute, turned ongoing, campaign. Located on the infamous Walton Street in Chicago, such window rentals [shared by those as Chanel] have not become available for decades. "The ad is doing very well- and getting great feedback," confirmed Drake's Palm Court Manager, Shaun Rajah.

Fabbri Furs couldn't have taken boutique space at 50 East Oak Street (approximately one block from the Drake hotel) at a better time! They are right across the street from the NEW Hermes Boutique at 25 East Oak & the NEW Barney's New York Chicago at 15 East Oak Street, while neighbors include stores like Prada, Harry Winston, Jimmy Choo, and the list goes on. As if this were not enough shopper's nirvana, the 900 North Shops and Water Tower Place are simply a skip away.

Unfortunately the team Asha put together on this project have since taken projects in other cities like New York City after the ad release, but everyone still shares the return exposure and benefits, even the now released model at that time.

Asha Spacek responds: "I am always looking to develop and build our UR Artists Division as Chicago has such amazing talent that simply need to discover their niche, grooming from schooling into business reality, and chance- they can do it, if someone will let them! I decide talent based on passion, will, and the ability to take direction. It's not always the resume that speaks to me, but the vision behind their talent; their yearning (not desperation) for growth.
Usually I am contracted for like opportunities due to my built- sometimes pushy- {she laughs} relationships created with my clients- usually by referral, or by them seeing something out there, that we have done. I am a one-on-one type of person, and businesses miss that these days. If clients need to call me at 10pm to remind me of their idea or concern, in order to feel better, I let them. I don't put them through to 5 people and 10 voicemails- I take full responsibility from start to finish, so whoever I insert along the way, they trust that I have either faith, developed, or entrusted the team for hire already as if it were my personal brand. The UR team feels married to each project, and sometimes it takes counseling [even separation or divorce] to repair the relationship, lol; but in the end, there is mutual loyalty, respect, and appreciation of opportunity for all."

Fabbri has since branded themselves as a creatively unique furrier, in which the boutique and its local and international designers have impressed their high profile clientele. As young entrepreneurs, owners Sergio & Brian, along with Asha share very similar business practices in being innovative yet personable, and despite being boutique companies, project superlative expectations while maintaining qualified inner circles of a big company. Neither are afraid to take risks- even at their own expense- to save long term brand imagery and quality service to its clients. UR SuperModels and Fabbri Furs are in discussion for future projects. The same campaign can now be seen on the website's homepage as well. Asha's specific roles in the campaign were producer, creative director, art director, and stylist-

November 1- What a pleasant surprise! Fashion Division model Mandi earns the November COVER of FCM Magazine shot by Italian based fashion photographer, Alessandro Mari.

The UR Artists Division was also part of this shot- booked was long time hairstylist Juan Jose Herrera, a full time stylist and instructor at Mario Tricoci, but freelances as a local in-demand fashion hairstylist, and exciting projects with UR SuperModels. Other on going affiliates, plus up and coming talented designers and image artists were referred for consideration- all were delighted to join in this amazing effort.

The shoot's creative stylist was UR SuperModels artistic director, Asha Spacek. Below are full credits of both UR Artists and designers she found suitable for the magazine's theme. Asha created the conceptual hair, makeup, wardrobe, and accessories layout and pairing, as well as assisted with magazine art direction. October 13, 2011- Celebrating her new look, UR SuperModels Glamour/Print/Fashion Lifestyle model Gina Alva, appeared on today's 'Windy City Live,' as a costumed nurse, to bring glee to host, Ryan Chiaverini, recovering from hip surgery. Windy City Live took the slot of, 'The Oprah Winfrey Show.'

Alva appears in the show's opening (on the left) in the video below! Gina has always had such amazing in-person and on-camera charisma, mixed with high end glam- she lights up a room.

"OMG, EVERYONE loves Gina's bubbly personality, artistic director of URSM Asha Spacek blushes. How can you not? She walks into a room [usually in Gucci or Louboutin, and let's not omit killer abs and legs] and lights it up; she is also very funny. She always gives our clients 200%; her loyalty is priceless, and she always looks fabulous! Modeling, luxury, commitment, and business, are part of her everyday lifestyle. She is also an entrepreneur [owner of Gina Marie Hair, a high end hair extension company]- she is very smart, and we are honored she says she will be managed by UR SuperModels as long as we will have her! 2nd Annual Outstanding Business & Fashion Awards Presented by Red Carpet Concierge of Chicago, hosted at the 400,000 square foot Grossinger Auto Plex on September 25, 2011 awarded Asha Spacek, Artistic Director & Founder of UR SuperModels.

The 'Contributing to Outstanding Business Ethics & Achievements Award' named her for her "It Happens with Asha" business ethic and her achievement in unique fashion production- specifically the 10 model video window and print ad campaign in the window of Mali Jewelry at 204 North Michigan Avenue. Spacek fully produced, directed, and styled the campaign over a year ago with unfortunately some models and artists not still around to share in this honor.

Asha chooses to speak openly about what this means to her:

"Success does not happen over night, Asha replies, however, many younger people think life happens as it does on reality television! Even prior to this award, I suppose [on this project] giving an opportunity to artists/models to see their work 24/7 as you walk, drive, bus, and taxi by on a major tourist street in Chicago, across from a major news station, our city's business district, and even next to Starbuck's for talent that not even 6 months prior knew what a portfolio was [as it was non-existent] still isn't enough! No matter how much you invest personally -with the freedom of the internet sometimes- you can be on top today and thrown under the bus tomorrow, lol, so to have Sandy from Red Carpet still remember AND rave about seeing the images from across the street, really touched me. She has seen a lot in this city, not to mention world wide, so I know she was not blowing smoke. I am grateful- I am adjusting to compliments in an industry filled with ridicule- but I LOVE IT- I will die with fashion and style being my life! Overall I am respected for what I do, but of course a few things will always bother you. If I gave up a husband for it, you know I won't let naysayers or competitive copiers get in my way, lol. I am speaking out finally- openly- because I want future women...young girls to understand adversity never means failure; it means due triumph, as mentioned in the bible."

Italian Fashion Photographer Comes to Chicago- Asha Spacek Styles UR SUPERMODELS For Fall Editorials

October 2011- Alessandro Mari, photographer from Italy visits Chicago to shoot Fall/Winter editorials for FCM Magazine, using Asha Spacek as editorial and cover stylist. Asha uses mostly couture designers and UR Artists Division to style UR SuperModels & LA model

Asha Spacek, emerging style expert, artistic director and founder of UR SUPERMODELS, INC., jumped at the opportunity to submit the company's fashion and glamour lifestyle models for this beneficial branding experience. Not only were UR SuperModels booked for editorial title pages, a cover, and filler content, the UR Artists Division, includes Asha Spacek as creative stylist, to collaborate during Mari's trip to Chicago from Italy. Asha created all 'head to toe' looks, booking and directing hair and makeup artists, all use of accessories, and wardrobe selection not only UR SuperModels, but Victoria Yasemin, an FCM model flying in from LA.

Clients are cleaning out their Spring/Summer photo closet, as we just received a candid photo of MODEL DEBUT for Walden Kay (left) entertainingly loved designer and former "The Fashion Show" contestant Calvin Tran (center), along with junior model Alex Whiting (right). Many fans and mediums say they ONLY watched the show because of Calvin. The already established, retail savvy designer did not bite his tongue while being filmed on the reality show starring super model, IMAN and famed designer Isaac Mizrahi, even as one challenge brought "The Real Housewives of New Jersey," as models to the runway. video of Calvin's professional story below-

Cram Chicago called UR SuperModels mid-Spring, said they were having a Grand Re-Opening [mid-May] and since Alex did such a great job in the past, was she available for this special guest event! Walden & Alex not only modeled Calvin's fashion in-store, but also photographed in the Cram window for passers by.

Calvin Tran flagship store is based in New York, with a Chicago boutique for his second location, as well as select items sold with client Cram For Her-Lakeview.

UR SUPERMODELS 2010 Health/Wellness Spokes Model & Celebrity Mom Shea Vaughn (to actor Vince Vaughn) launches her NEW WELLNESS BOOK!

Not only did UR SuperModels have fun watching her stretch, core-tone, and slim down some of our UR Artists, models, and even guests of UR's 2010 showcase, "Wild Orchid WorldWide," but also fell in love with her amazing "5 living principles," which is explained in the book using her trademarked, Sheanetics fitness and wellness regime.

May 2, 2011- UR SuperModels Founder Asha Spacek, wears many hats throughout the company- ranging from CEO to Artistic Director, even makeup artist, stylist, and so on...well, as fashionshow producer of the company's 2010 showcase, "Wild Orchid WorldWide," one of her special guests Kathy O'Leary -author/realtor/corporate sales manager- invited Asha and UR SuperModels to review the fashion and special moments of the "Royal Wedding" this past historic Friday, April 29th. The viewing party was hosted by CityScape Lounge on the 15th floor of the re-designed, first Chicago LEED certified hotel, Holiday Inn Mart Plaza- covered by WGN News, "Around Town," with Ana Beleval.

UR SuperModels, The Dress Doctor seamstresses, and Asha Spacek arrived at 4:30am to begin the royal venture. Asha styled the models in a London 'Royal Wedding' theme, per happy request of Kathy and her friendly staff. See the final looks and festive mood of everyone after seeing the Prince William and lovely bride Kate Middleton say, "I DO!"

UR SuperModels Part of Parisian Cop Copine Editorial

May 1, 2011-COP COPINE PARIS opened its newest American location behind their first store in San Francisco's Union Square. This Chicago flagship opened this Spring 2011 inhabiting the vacant J. Mendel space across the street from Bloomingdale's on North Michigan Avenue.

Cop.Copine is a Parisian women's clothing company who is known for their relevant styles at accessible price points. The company has stores in over nineteen countries around the world and offers bold prints original cuts, and occasional asymmetry. The clothing is casual while still paying attention to a feminine shape.

Then they pull out the show stopper - shoulder jewelry. Since its debut on the Paris runways, apparently Cop.Copine has been selling so much of it that the artisan who makes the shoulder jewelry in Paris is having a difficult time keeping up with demand.

From UR SuperModels Artistic Director Asha Spacek, "We were so honored when FCM invited us to submit models for this editorial. It had been awhile since the mag has taken interest in local talent OR fashion, so it was great to reconnect!" Asha accompanied the models to their fitting as new face junior models Mandi and Alex prepared for one of their biggest shoots to date. This is a unique gesture Asha sometimes offers to new models, which is not very common of managers/agents, but she wants both models and parents to be comfortable and confident in what can be a scary and adventurous industry; especially for projects outside the normal "commercial" related opportunities usually provided in the Chicago market. Ms. Spacek also introduced one of the UR Artists Divisions new 'test' stylists Brianna to the boutique and magazine being used for the shoot.

Asha continues, "I don't mind sharing opportunities with our new talent in training. I can't style, direct, brand, oversee booking managers, and seek new business opportunities if I try and maintain control over everything- I've tried this way, and it is exhausting, haha. So long as the artists don't officially heist our contacts [as some in past time], growth equals more success for the company, AND I can see my bed more. It's a win/win- everyone did a SUPERB job and we appreciate the opportunity with such a big brand. January 2011- There's no way you could flip pass the new UR SuperModels' Fabbri Furs ad of Today's Chicago Woman Magazine! Promoted to page 5- which is really like page 2 when you open the mag- and right next to the "Table of Contents," shows appreciation on, and for, all parties involved. In case you missed the January issue of TCW Magazine, our UR Artists Division, featuring lead creative director Asha Spacek, and fashion division model Yelena Fedorchenko, were once again hired by oak street furrier, Fabbri Furs to create a posh new ad campaign for the affluent local magazine. It's no secret that you can't open a magazine or see a runway show these days that don't incorporate fur [somehow] into the fashion forwards' wardrobe- even if just muffs, a vest, or a hat.

UR SuperModels artists division commenced the relationship by creating a December ad for the young and suave up-and-coming private boutique. No stranger to the lavish streets of Oak and Walton Street in Chicago, Fabbri navigates by meshing their international indulgence, with traditional local boutique hospitality, adding creative edge and style, not only through their personally designed furs, but now evoked through their promotional image. December 2010- Look what we found! A lovely editor's note, by Cathy Demetropoulos of Chicago Bride Magazine. She thanks UR SuperModels (see bottom with image c/o ABC NEWS) for providing lovely models for the well respected brand. A timeless classic to blushing brides, Chicago Bride Magazine & David's Bridal easily roll off the tongue when you think of resource guide and bridal dress options. We really appreciated the opportunity! We used mostly new faces plus Jessica Meyer (mostly print division, 2nd model from left) who walked in Dubai Fashion Fiesta 2009 as the first American model for the segment. The article dives into their annual Navy Pier event at the beautiful Crystal Gardens.
