Laxman reports there's been some possible activity in the Cavern. Although Guild work was suspended when funding dried up, I've made a few independent trips down since for old time's sake. Perhaps I wasn't alone in doing this?

Greetings everyone!

I`m new to the cavern, an I am looking for someone who could point me somwhere in the direction of musical traditions of the D�ni people.
I am a composer myself, and I am convinced that music must have been inportant in this culture. Referring to the barred Concert Hall, I am most curious.

Newtonian physics. I don't see why not, unless it is in a completely different universe....I fail to remember how the dimensions up to the 10th go, but at a point, there is a collection of universes or systems where there is allowance of changing the physics in that realm.
Question is, on what dimension do linking books operate? Does it merely fold space? As Yeesha seems to be saying, she has over come the obstacle of time. And, from things I've heard, her parents have overcome or redefined the physics in some of their "worlds" (take BoA for example).
So let's say since they overcame these obstacles, it must route through a higher dimension than the space-time continuum or the fifth dimension.
However, I think for the Ages we have, they are limited to the universe or the style of our universe, where our physics apply.

Some of the ideas I'd like to hear are:
How was Kadish Tolesa formed? Is it a giant tree in the middle of an ocean or...what?
What is the atmosphere of Kadish consist of? (What causes this purplish hue?)
I noticed in Gahreesen we made a crazy jump to get to the Bahro door. Can we calculate the g-force on that planet, knowing that such a jump did not maim me? (What is the average person's ability in such a landing?)

funny, the language in his letter seems to be a cross between german and ?swhili?

Anyways, here's another question... what should we do with his body? leave it there? put it in a museum with his riches? Use one his teeth to anylize his DNA? Think about it, people learn how to live for over 300 years.

That's definitely a neat idea. And Yeesha's definitely someone you'd want to learn from; She can even do things the D'ni never could!

Whether she'd trust us with the knowledge of the Art, I'm not sure. With the DRC's recent reestablishment of the D'ni Guild of Writers, maybe they have plans to release lessons or more information on the Art.

Hi again....

Just wondering, there is the Explorers Guild (yay explorers! ), the zooilogical scocity, the Linguistic fellowship, MYST community, URUobsession, D'ni Jazz Club, the Guild of Greeters, DWPR, D'ni Guild, and the DRC Forums. nd each one needs a different account to access.

Is there any way that we can link them (maybe not all of them, but probably the guild sites), so that you only have to register once. and then have access to the rest of the other forums if you want? right now it seems very impracticle needing to sign into each one seperately.

well this is my first post and I have Finaly finished sifting through all the responces. First off, about the Relto Books.

Yeasha has been granted knowlege that the D'ni never had (they could have, but thought that the Bahro were 'inferior'. Goes to show what bigotry can do...). There was also speculation of another kind of book that the D'ni could have had, but was so complicated that they forgot the technology once they had used it. This Book was used to make Gaternay, the original home of the D'ni, and was written as an initial book of always being. The Relto book may look like a linking book, but the properties of (a) always following you (b) being able to change when the right text is inserted, (c) being always different for diferent people (for the most part), and (d) being able to link within the age sort of makes me think that it isn't a normal linking book. instead it is either one of these Bahro/D'ni hybrids, or a Book of Being (for lack of a better term...let see if i can find something in the dicitonary )

as for yesha making multible copies all at once , maybe she has a printing press somewhere hidden, or the pedistal has thousands of books underneath it. when the book is taken, another rises up from it.

I'm surprised we haven't seen Yeesha since. The Bahro have been up to some strange activity as well. Seems a bit odd for her to lead us so far, then to abandon us. Has something happened to her? Has she finished what she wanted to show us?

What is the meaning of this? Can't she come in her real form at the moment? Or someone was pulling us a prank? Why the DRC isn't commenting on this?

And in particular... why did I have to leave shortly before she appeared, dammit?
