We were honored to join them last year. We were both sad to learn that Preston “Jay” Fairlamb, Jr., one of the organizers of Rolling Thunder and someone who made us so welcome last year, tragically died in an accident last week. Jay was a Vietnam vet, a retired New Jersey State Trooper, and a great American who will be dearly missed. Please keep his wife, his children, grandchildren and his innumerable friends in your prayers. On this Memorial Day weekend, may God bless our brave men and women in uniform. - Sarah Palin Todd and I with Jay last year at Rolling Thunder.
Mr. L is a New York-based Palinista and operates the website Mr. L’s Tavern. He is known for his hard-hitting, frank opinions that pull no punches. “Sarah Palin throws her endorsement to Sen Orrin Hatch of Utah and some Tea Party conservatives want to throw this good conservative woman under the bus. I find it laughable that some conservatives are criticizing Palin for this endorsement,” Mr. L said in describing his webcast. He rightly questions the sincerity of “four-year” supporters who disavowed their support of Gov. Palin over this endorsement.

Among the things conservatives most often complain about with respect to the Left is their intolerance of differing opinions. I have to be honest and say that I don’t like generalizations. Individuals are individuals for a reason. We are all different, with different backgrounds, different likes and dislikes, and different aptitudes for different things. However, experience–growing up in liberal New York City, attending liberal Columbia University, dating liberals to the left of Barack Obama (I know, I’m a masochist), and years of teaching in liberal institutions–has taught me that the vast majority of liberals I have encountered have a problem with dissent. They are uncomfortable with debate that doesn’t yield unanimous agreement and are threatened by bold, conflicting opinions. They tend to respond with character assassinations, not policy distinctions. They somehow feel betrayed by your opposing view and in turn belittle and berate. They aim to censor. Not all liberals, but like I said–the vast majority of those I have encountered. Conservatives are right to detest that tendency. True conservatives should welcome individuality and the independent thoughts that come with it. They should invite spirited debate, feel positively challenged by diverse opinions, and never forget that the freedom to hold those differing views is at the core of what we are fighting for. This week on Fox News, Sarah Palin endorsed Orrin Hatch in the Utah primary. She articulated her reasons why, detailing them in written form on her website . Mark Levin backed up her decision, issuing commentary on his radio show. Michelle Malkin disagreed, conveying her sentiments on her blog . I went about doing what I always do–digging into candidates’ records. But I’m not going to talk about Hatch. Or Liljenquist. Or the Utah primary. I’m going to talk about the backlash I witnessed on twitter and via email that made me feel like I had been transplanted into the belly of the Left. Some Palin supporters trashed Malkin as a Palin-hater. Some tea party folks trashed Palin as a traitor. It got ugly. It wasn’t the healthy policy debate we conservatives know and love; it was the character assassinations we hold the Left accountable for every day. It troubles me. Because this isn’t the first time it has happened. And I fear it won’t be the last. So I’m asking you to think about that. Because it doesn’t make sense to rail against the Left and then mimic their behavior. You can’t hold someone else accountable for wrongdoing and excuse yourself. Well, I guess you can–but what does that say about you? And if conservatism is on course to mimic liberalism, we are in big trouble. Healthy debate is a good thing. Backing up endorsements with policy reasons and passionately defending your candidate is what we are all about. Hearty policy discussions are good for the movement. They keep us strong, sharp, and challenge us to think about what we say, who we support, and why. And guess what? We all won’t always agree. To those who object to Palin’s endorsement, Malkin’s endorsement, or the endorsements of others down the road–myself included–speak your minds. Tell me why you disagree with me. Arm yourself with facts. Challenge me. I welcome it. But the unnecessary name-calling and character attacks–can’t we just leave that nonsense to the Left?
Now is the time to protect the sudden and relentless reform put in place by Governor Scott Walker and Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch in Wisconsin.

On June 5th, Governor Walker, Lt. Gov. Kleefisch, and a handful of state senators are facing frivolous recall elections. Why? It is simple. Selfish Union Bosses prefer their own power over the solid, sudden and relentless reform Wisconsin has set in motion.

As you may remember, Governor Sarah Palin expressed support for Lt. Gov. Kleefisch earlier this year, and just this week predicted that conservatives would win in Wisconsin’s recall. Governor Palin notes, “as goes Wisconsin, so goes America“.

It’s up to you to make this happen.

The last weekend before Election Day, Grizzlies have an opportunity to do our small part fighting alongside our neighbors in Wisconsin. We must protect the sudden and relentless reform set in place by the Walker-Kleefisch administration.

AGU-WI State Coordinator, Bill Lichter, has been working tirelessly at the Racine Victory Center in Racine, WI for the past several months.

American Grizzlies United and Organize4Palin are calling on you to join Bill on Saturday, June 2nd to assist with phone banking, block walking, and other “boots on the ground” support for Gov. Walker, Lt. Gov Kleefisch, and the 4 other recalled state senators.

The Victory Center is open from 9-9 every day, but Saturday is the best day for people to make the trip to Racine. It would be GRRREAT if we could get a hard working group of AGU & O4P Grizzlies to Wisconsin that Saturday to help out!

If you are interested in making the trip to Racine, please email AGU-IL State Coordinator Whitney Pitcher: illinois@organize4palin.com so that she can let Bill know how many of you will be there to help our Wisconsin neighbors.

Also Tea Party Express will have several rallies in Wisconsin that weekend.

Here is the Tea Party Express schedule.

If you can’t make the trip to Wisconsin you can still GET YOUR GRRR ON and help from your home:

CLICK HERE and CLICK HERE to help from your home.

The Union Bosses are fueled and encouraged by Obama’s Occupiers, who incite class warfare, and attempt to provoke crowds into coveting the fruits of their neighbors labor.

Other people have those things and we want them!

This is not the American way.

The Walker-Kleefisch sudden and relentless reform has helped private sector businesses create thousands of jobs, and turned a $3.6 billion budget deficit into a surplus, without raising taxes or cutting essential services.

The sudden and relentless reform led to 88% of Wisconsin job creators saying that Wisconsin is headed in the right direction.

Please join AGU in doing everything you can to protect these bold reformers who worked hard to put government back on the side of the people.

Email: AGU-IL State Coordinator Whitney Pitcher: illinois@organize4palin.com

As I watch the backlash being directed towards Governor Palin for her endorsement of Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah, I feel a brief rebuttal is in order, where we conservatives better look deeper into all of this. In 2008 we conservatives once again were moping. We were lost, waiting to be electrified, and we were with the announcement of Sarah. We were dancing in 2010 watching Sarah Palin. We saw her fighting toe to toe with the Left, LSM, GOP, Elites and all the political pundits since she came on the scene. She took the blows for us, she fought for us, she stood tall for us. Yes, Sarah is not perfect, but who is ? Be thankful she follows the one who is. Yes, she might make a decision some might not agree with, but find one who you will always agree with…good luck with that. Senator Orrin Hatch might not have always been there for us, but he has also been with us many times as well. I have watched Sarah work, her endorsements, her planning, her playing of chess to get things in place to help us for the future.

If we conservatives in past decades had the vigor and tenacity that Sarah has shown these last 4 years, this Country would not be in the shape it is now. We wouldn’t be telling each other “If we lose 2012, we lose the Country”. We have lost the culture and Sarah is trying to get it back, she stands on values and principles. If we in past decades stood as tall as Sarah on those values and principles, we might not be fighting for survival as we are today. I trust Sarah, I speculate why she endorsed Senator Hatch, but as said before, Senator Hatch has done some strong fighting for us, especially when came to Obama’s Supreme Court appointees. Maybe Sarah believes as in baseball, you need that old arm of a pitcher to help the young arms coming up. I don’t know, but I do know this, we might disagree with Sarah at times, but when THEY all hate her, then you search for the reasons. The reasons being, Sarah is everything THEY despise, and what do they despise…they despise YOU. I’ll stick with Sarah, if she can watch her family being damned for me, then I have to stay by her side. I just say to myself, where were we before the introduction of Sarah Palin and if no Sarah, where would the electricity had come from. I have always said, we have a gift in Sarah, by saying that, THEY all hate her for reasons. For ones who might be upset with Sarah for some of her endorsements, just remember, you are the reason they hate her. That’s my take on it, we can agree and disagree, all I ask is one thing “Who has been more vocal & fought for YOU then Sarah.”

Governor Palin has endorsed Senator Orrin Hatch in the Utah Senate Primary. Today, National Review Online published an article by Robert Costa about the Governor's support of the Senator and their mutual respect. Here are some snippets: The two people least surprised by Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Senator Orrin Hatch this week are Palin and Hatch. In the Twitter and Facebook era, they became political allies the old-fashioned way: through handwritten letters and personal phone calls. It’s an unlikely, politics-fueled friendship that’s fit for a Robert Caro book. Hatch, a soft-spoken grandfather, is one of Palin’s top outside mentors. He encourages her and cheers her. They share family stories, they discuss history, and they talk about legislation. “It’s true,” Palin tells National Review Online. “He’s a warrior.” She respects his record, especially his work on the Senate Judiciary Committee, where Hatch has frequently been an influential figure during contentious Supreme Court confirmations. Even though she is 30 years his junior, Palin has grown to appreciate Hatch’s historical perspective on Congress, the presidency, and the conservative movement. “I respect public servants who benefited from and grew under the tutelage of Ronald Reagan,” she says. The warmth is mutual. “She and her husband are the handsomest couple that I’ve ever met,” Hatch says, smiling, as we chat in his spacious Senate office. “They’re both top-flight people and I got angry with the mainstream media constantly running her down.” Hatch openly acknowledges that he has long and doggedly sought Palin’s support. Palin was another tea-party leader who gave Hatch an opportunity to review his Senate experiences, from the Clarence Thomas hearing to his near-victorious battle to pass a balanced-budget amendment. Hatch also says he learned from her. “She is the prime reason the conservative base really played a factor in the last presidential election,” he says. He keeps tabs on her speeches and appearances. “She’s sharp as a tack,” Hatch says. “I like the way she defends herself and our conservative values.” When she was attacked in the press, he’d defend her in conversations with reporters, during talk-radio interviews, and on cable television. When Palin went on Fox News on Tuesday night to signal her support for Hatch ahead of the primary, it was a pleasant surprise to the senator, but not entirely unexpected. Early Wednesday, the pair spoke on the phone. “I told her that I love her and her husband,” Hatch chuckles. “She said, ‘We love you, too,’ and that she’s here to help.” “Look, it was a nice conversation,” Hatch says. “I can’t claim that I’ve been a major influence for Sarah, other than what she may have observed from all the fights around here. But I must say, I’ve watched her very carefully and I think the world of her.” They may be from different generations, but it’s a fighter’s instinct that, in Hatch’s telling, binds them. “She’s had more than her fair share of barbs but she keeps coming back,” Hatch says. “I never give up, either.” Read the full article here .
U.S. Senate candidate from Indiana Richard Mourdock this week thanked former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for her endorsement of his campaign and credited the momentum it provided him as being a major contributing factor in his May 8 primary win during an interview with LaDonna Hale Curzon, Host and Executive Producer, Sarah Palin Radio.

During the interview, Mourdock said that he had respect for Richard Lugar, the 36-year entrenched moderate who he defeated in the primary. Mourdock said he saw Lugar “not as an enemy, but as an opponent for a time.” He said if Lugar wanted to campaign for him, he would welcome it, but the final decision would be Lugar’s to make.

Curzon asked Mourdock who he thought would be a good vice president for Romney and Mourdock said either Marco Rubio or Rob Portman would be good choices. Neither Mourdock nor Curzon said anything further about Romney.

Gov. Palin has endorsed six candidates this year and primaries have been held for two of her endorsed candidates: Deb Fischer and Richard Mourdock, both of whom won. US Senate (Texas) candidate Ted Cruz’s primary is May 29; Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch face a recall election on June 5; and US Senate (Utah) candidate Orrin Hatch’s primary is June 26.

Gov. Palin’s 2012 endorsement success rate is 100% for candidates in which an election has been held.

He defended Governor Palin, gave his readers an in-depth history lesson on Orrin Hatch, his strong defense of Clarence Thomas, his role in the conservative movement during the Reagan years, other past judicial nominations, and he touched on the history of certain players involved in the current race, like Dick Armey of FreedomWorks. The clip is over 28 minutes long, but it’s well worth your time to listen to the entire thing.

Levin also posted the following on his Facebook page:

I endorsed Orrin Hatch a year ago and will continue to do so; please take some time to learn about his REAL record. There’s a reason why Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin, Steve Forbes, the Tea Party Express, the NRA, and so many others back Hatch. http://tinyurl.com/cryhfb3

Make sure to check out the link that he posted.

Finally, many in the Conservative media have called Dan Liljenquist, “the tea party candidate.” I find that very interesting considering that Liljenquist’s campaign has stated that isn’t the case. According to TPM (I know, but quotes are used):

Liljenquist has enjoyed unofficial support from the monied tea party group FreedomWorks but doesn’t himself identify as a tea partier. “He’s never labeled himself a tea party [candidate],” Holly Richardson, his campaign chairwoman who resigned her own position in the Utah state house to run his campaign, told TPM. “He has been labeled a tea party candidate, but in fact, he’s a reality-based candidate. He feels like the reality is: We’re out of money.” Liljenquist has never fully embraced the tea party — he told the Washington Post more than a year ago that the “froth and bubble” of the movement would die down long before concern over the economy goes away.

Interesting choice of words by Mr. Liljenquist, don’t you think?
