I'm working on several videos right now, and I wanted to give you a heads up. On May 25-27 I played with a band in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba opening for Everclear. A couple weeks ago, My friend David and I took a musical pilgrimage to the mecca of blues music, Clarksdale, MS. The other night my friends and I checked out the new bowling alley in Hattiesburg, and on Friday I am going to the umpteenth annual Fourth of July Parade in Magnolia Springs, AL. Stay tuned for videos of all those events as well as videos from Jake in Honduras. His computer resources are limited, so I wish him the best of luck uploading those huge video files. In the meantime, check out me playing trumpet in Cuba!

The question may have popped up: Is the blog going to ever be updated again?

Yes. It is.

We've got a kind of bug that's keeping us from posting new videos, but we will still be able to post text and photos, and that will at least keep the blog alive until we solve those technical difficulties.

Exams are over, summer's here. A new class has graduated and a new class is on the way. In the meantime, Sam and I will be kept busy by the summer to come.

For me, I've spent these past two weeks acting as a kind of interim RA for the dorms on campus for summer conference. Remember when you were a kid, and you went to the big university for a football camp? How about a band camp? Cheerleading? Chess? Phrenology? Well I'll be the cheerful consierge that gets you checked in and out of your dorm. I'm typing this on my final shift...

Come Saturday, I'll be on a flight to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. For two months, I'll be working with an organization called Sal y Luz to do some extracurricular Spanish language work. Building houses, translating, driving, filming-- whatever they need me to do down there, that's my job.

For the rest of the summer, expect pictures, posts, and hopefully videos from Sam and yours truly. I'll keep updating on my excursion and Sam will hold the fort here in Hattiesburg.

Well, Sam and his boys have polished up the first album, and here's one of the ways you can pick it up. I have spent the past three hours in the Starbucks on campus doing research, and I must say this album is quite conducive in getting work done. It's Spring Parties week, the annual week to kick you're flip-flop wearing feet up and relax before exams come and give you an indian sunburn. One of the events of this week is Pi Kappa Phi's date auction, where the men find costumes to wear and are auctioned off as a fundraiser. This year, I got creative and built myself a Lego Costume.

So Sam Zeanah Band didn't win the battle of the bands... a band called Red Hill City did. Shame.

The day was still great, though- after the battle of the bands I went to Pi Kappa Phi's parent's day lunch, then some Southern Miss football. Coach Fedora's voice reminded me of my football coach's voice from my high school-- hoarse from yelling. It's basically the vital characteristic of a successful coach.

Keep yelling, Coach.
