Horseshoe G.A.N.G : Ambitions AZ A Writer (Mixtape)</h1> <article> <h1>Horseshoe G.A.N.G : Ambitions AZ A Writer (Mixtape)</h1> <p>Sat, 04 Feb 2012 05:20:03 +0000</p> <p></p> <p><strong>Crooked I’s</strong> younger brothers aka <strong>The Horseshoe GANG</strong> dropped their latest <strong>mixtape</strong>, Ambitions as a Writer (a play on words on <strong>2Pac’s</strong> song Ambitions of a Ridah). And the tape is dope starts off with a classic old school Ice Cube tribute called “Beat Jackin’</p> <p> 2011” and jumping right back into the hardcore on tracks like “Trust the Shoes”, “COB Motto”, “COB Cypher” and while they rip beats with that punch in, punch out styling of rhyming making it sound easily and yet unique while staying true to west coast style of rapping, they still sound as distinct as ever. </p> <p>The tape consist of 17 hard banger trunk rattling scratch worthy tape that could do without dj drops and its sometimes take away from the songs being listen too. Some off the joints I felt had most replay value are tracks like “I’m a Solider”, “Trust the Shoes” and the ambitious “I need to take off” which had a lot of punch and the type of swag that’s not lame it just had that flavor that makes you nod cha head very hard when you bump it. </p> <p>Overall this mixtape is solid as a gold chain, this tape is definitely 4 out of 5 and it doesn’t stop it has that flavor that’s what the west coast rap is, hard and head nodding, that good ole g-funk that been missing.
