Cuuren$y</a></dl> </div> </article> <article> <h1>Playstation Vita (3G/Wi-Fi) Review</h1> <p>Tai — Fri, 24 Feb 2012 03:50:46 +0000</p> <p></p> <p>I have been dying to try out the Vita ever sense is was called the NGP, the sleek design and gorgeous 5″ OLED screen was the ultimate eye candy, along with the promise to play console quality games on the go already had me drooling over it. The only thing holding me back was it’s steep price, a minimum price of $250 and you had to buy their proprietary memory card, that had already run you at a minimum of $300 with tax, and that’s just for the Vita and a measly 4GB memory card. With all the downloadable content, movies and music you can have on it, you would need at least 8GB which is $30.</p> <p>I was lucky enough to go to the midnight launch to pick my Vita up, while you were waiting till midnight you were able to listen to <strong>Questlove</strong> and try the new and upcoming games for the <strong>PS Vita</strong>. For example <strong>Mortal Kombat</strong> and <strong>Unit 13</strong>, Mortal Kombat was everything you could expect from a Mortal Kombat game, you will feel right at home, there is a little added twist in some places (Challenge Tower) made specifically for the Vita. After trying out few games, I know Sony has a lot in store for the Vita as well as a amazing game launch line up, and more in coming months.</p> <p><a href="http://ustyles.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/cross-platform_play.png"></a></p> <p>I picked up the 3G/Wi-Fi version, which came with a 8GB memory card and for going to the midnight launch, <strong>Modnation Racers</strong>. Although I don’t plan on using 3G much because of the $14.99 month plan, and it isn’t really needed because of all the hot spots around. After a couple of hours of use, I could already tell there was some to be desired,faster load times, a better camera and a better user interface. The camera is good enough to use for augmented reality games (reality fighters, table soccer) but will not replace your smartphone camera, and probably not even most flip phones. The next flaw is the UI, it is 3 rows of bubbles on every page, and every bubble is a app or a game. This doesn’t seem too bad at first, but after a little use you can tell how much this can reduce it’s quickness, to look open anything you have to click the bubble, then click start to start the app, even for the little things like to view your friends list, so this can be annoying at times. Other than that the touch screen seems to be very responsive and easy to use, the only trouble I had with it was while creating a Mod or Kart in Modnation Racers, there was times where I had to press the on screen buttons multiple times for it to actually work. Also when swiping in between screens there was a little lag, but that was only in Modnation Racers so far, so it isn’t a big problem.</p> <p>Overall the <strong>Playstation Vita</strong> is the best portable gaming experience you can have, as long as you are willing to pay it’s high price, the games for it are fantastic, the screen is amazing, and it’s design gives it a elite look. Got there early so we got hooked up with free gifts. And who knew <strong>Questlove</strong> of <strong>The Roots</strong> would be there spinning. He played some classics, along with some mainstream stuff. They also had some good looking <strong>PS Vita</strong> girls walking around giving out prizes, snacks and drinks (even though some had no idea what the PS Vita was…lol).</p> <p>Cool thing about the night was they had the actual game developers there showing off their games and talking to the gamers.
