A junior international oil company is seeking an experienced Drilling/ Operations Engineer to take charge of the company’s drilling operations in Russia. The successful applicant must have hands on experience and in:

- preparing Drilling Plans, Drilling Programs, cost Estimates, AFEs and participaion in the preparation of health and safety procedures.

- manage and control drilling and operations budget.

- preparation of accurate daily drilling/operations reports, cost break-down and health and safety reports.

- managing onshore drilling operations in northern cold climates with challenging road and lease conditions.

- construction of roads, well locations, rig move and rig up/rig down operations.

- land based drilling operations, knowledge of up-to-date drilling techniques, drilling tools, directional drilling tools and procedures, mud formulations and mud maintenance.

The candidate must further be experienced in negotiating contracts with sub contractors, suppliers and service providers.

He/she must be able to closely supervise Russian and Western drilling personnel with sensitivity to cultural differences, but without compromising performance. Strictly implement the company’s procedures for the safety of personnel, the environment and equipment. Become familiar with, and implement compliance with all applicable rules and regulations of the Russian Federation.

Control System Engineer

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
This post sits within a project team responsible for the management and delivery of a £2bn Oil & Gas Development Project situated West of Shetland in the UKCS. This Project forms a new development hub for the Company and is therefore of high strategic importance.
Act as the main Company Representative for Control System work package. Accountable for the technical execution of the contract, to ensure the project deliverables are in accordance with the Statement of Requirements (SOR), SHE Management Procedures and Project Schedule.
The main challenge in this position is to ensure that project activities are carried out according to the Company rules and procedures and that the confidentiality of the information is maintained at the level required. The identification and adoption of best practices in engineering and project execution is an important objective of the role, as is the development of strong and positive relationships with the Engineering Manager, team members and contractor representatives.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:
•Responsible for Onshore Control System technical aspects of the project, from basic engineering to handover, and accepts responsibility for actions
•Demonstrate commitment to SHE through Personal Safety Performance Contract
•Assist with the development of the technical Scope of work
•Assist with the pre-contract award clarifications and technical evaluations/recommendation
•Pro-actively manage the contract Scope of Work
•Pro-actively liaise with Technology, Drilling, Operations, Contractor, Sub-Contractors, Vendors and certifying agency teams on all aspects of the project
•Actively contribute to the resolution of interfaces
•Prepare and present Technical dossiers
•Ensure that procedures and rules are developed and applied in accordance with the latest edition
•Control and approve, when appropriate, the specifications, requisitions, design procedures, layouts, arrangements and cause & effect charts
•Coordinate mobilisation of subsea control equipment & tooling for offshore installation
•Assist with the preparation of the pre-commissioning and commissioning/start-up activities
•Obtain validation of the design
•Prepare authorities applications for authorisations and consents
•Clarify interface with Subsea Control Engineer
•Positively represent the Company at Contractor premises, sites and on vessels if appropriate, during offshore construction, as and when required
•Develop effective and constructive relationships with contractor representatives in a manner that enables a high level of value to be obtained
•Report to the Engineering Manager and inform of any potential problems in a pro-active manner
•Continually seek learning opportunities to further their technical capability and openly share knowledge with other team members

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
•Degree in an appropriate technical discipline
•Chartered Engineer status or equivalent preferred but not essential
•Significant project management experience (planning, cost control, contracting)
•Strong knowledge of Company, Group and statutory policies and procedures in relation to engineering, technology and project management
•Strong knowledge of oil and gas facilities design, construction and operation with offshore experience gained in the North Sea

Must have experience with providing technical direction, estimating outage resources, man hours, activity durations and all aspects of outage planning, knowledge of Primavera P3 suretrak or other scheduling tools is desirable . Must have the ability to repair, recondition and overhaul large turbines and generators manufactured by GE, SW, Alstom, AC and many others. Some CT experience as well as Balance of Plant experience would be desirable. Experience and knowledge of EHC & MHC control system and valve repairs would an added benefit. Strong interpersonal skills are imperative; this is a Field service position that requires significant overtime and extensive travel through out the Southwest, especially during the spring and fall outage seasons. We are currently seeking to recruit Multiskilled Operators for the Northern Producer FPF operating in the North Sea on a 2/3 rota.

Roles and responsibilities:

Operate and control the external process and Utility facilities in a safe and efficient manner, thereby ensuring the continuous production of oil and gas.
Carry out adjustments to process facilities under the direction of the Shift Supervisor of or the SMSO.
Identify actions required to avert the possibility of a major incident occurring due to the process or external environment.
Identify and report to the Control Room any plant/equipment malfunction that could deteriorate into a major incident. Implement adjustments under the direction of the Control Room.
Ensure that the plant operation meets contractual specifications.
Operate as part of a team who are responsible for the continuous processing of oil, gas and produced water quality under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and SMSO.
Gather and collect data for the Process and Utility equipment identifies actions to be taken to minimise equipment and machinery failure.
Implement, shutdown, isolation, depressurising and cleaning equipment required for maintenance, purging and de-isolating ensuring all work permits have been cleared before bringing production back on line.
Carry out front line maintenance such as filter changes, pressure/temperature gauges replacement etc.
Assist maintenance technicians where required.
Recover plant from any emergency shutdown and minimises loss of production, whilst adhering to operating procedures.
Knowledge of lab duties, procedures and basic oil and gas analysis.

Skills ands qualifications:

Educated to ONC Standard or equivalent in craft, process or technical qualification.
Process qualification NVQ or equivalent standard.
Previous experience as an operator in gas processing, chemical/petro-chemical industries.
