FORMER PARTNER TO EXPOSE IBP IMPEACHMENT WATCH GROUP HEAD
FOR SWINDLING ACTIVITIES

In a sidebar to the commencement of the impeachment of Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona, Atty. Argee Guevarra today reacted to news reports that Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles, Guevarra’s former law partner, will be heading the IBP Impeachment Watch Group.

Guevarra revealed that he has personal knowledge and is in possession of documents that will expose Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles as a swindler and is ready to present them upon request by any interested party.

Guevarra claims that he himself was a victim of Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles’ swindling activities particularly how he was conned into acting as a guarantor for the lady lawyer’s liposuction sometime in 2009. Guevarra also claims those victimized by Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles include Belo botched butt job victim and client Josefina Norcio and international painter Zhou Jun who fell prey to the lady lawyer’s fictitious rendering of alleged (P.R.) public relations services#30

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation on Saturday to join the hunt for former comptroller of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Gen. Jacinto Ligot and his wife Erlinda Yambao after the Court of Tax Appeals ordered their arrest for tax evasion.

The couple are facing a separate forfeiture case at Sandiganbayan, which was filed against them in 2005 for allegedly amassing P135.28 million in unexplained wealth.

Their children (Paulo, Riza and Miguel), Ligot’s sister Miguela Ligot-Paragas, and Yambao are their codefendants. A certain Bryan Yambao is also said to be in the watchlist.

Lawyer Maria Antonette Bucasa-Mangrobang, BI spokesperson, said their computer section’s data showed that the last time Jacinto Ligot left the country by plane was on April 2, 2000 and that he returned on April 4 that same year.“This is his last arrival and we do not have any departure record after that,” Mangrobang said. She added that there were two entries for “Erlinda Ligot” in the BI database. One was for “Erlinda dela Cruz Ligot” who left the country on Aug. 2, 2005 and returned on August 13 that same year. The other – Erlinda Ligot y Yambao – left on June 26, 2010 and returned on June 30, 2010.
