In class 10 you study social science, science, mathematics, hindi, english,etc. But now you will study only those subject which you want to study.

In class 11, you have choice to select stream which is Pcm,Pcb, commerce, humanities. After choosing stream you have to select 5 subject which is known as optional subject.

Optional subjects are computer science, physical education,hindi,vocal,tabla,bharatnatyam,arts,etc.

But now some schools are also teaching 6 subject which is known as additional subject.

In additional subject some school provide options like tabla,vocal, physical education,art. But some school also provides options like computer science.

What is additional subject?

Additional subject is subject which you will study along with your 5 subjects. All schools not provide these opportunities to students to study additional subject.

Advantages of optional subject.

If you have taken additional subject then you have opportunity to score better marks.
Additional subject will replace your main subjects marks in which you are failed. Like you have scored 30 in mathematics,50 in physics,50 in chemistry,50 in optional subject, 50 in english and 50 in additional subject then additional subject mark will replace mathematics marks and you will be passed.

Disadvantage of additional subjects.

There is only one disadvantage of additional subject is you have to study one more subject along with your stream subjects.

Almost every student choose those additional subject in which he or she can achieve better marks in less effort.

If student fail in main subject?

If any student fail in main subjects like mathematics,physics,chemistry,economics,etc then your main subject's marks in which you have got less marks will be replaced by your additional subject's marks.

How to calculate percentage?

For calculating percentage of your class 12, you have to choose only best 5 subject's marks.
Like...you have achieved 70 in mathematics,80 in physics,80 in chemistry,80 in optional and 90 in additional subject then you will take additional subject not mathematics.Your total percentage will be 82% instead of 78%. This is one of the main advantage of taking additional subject.

If you take additional subject then it will open a new career option for you. Like you have selected pcb as a stream and physical education as a optional and mathematics as additional subject then you have a career options in biotechnology,etc.

Which are the additional subjects?

Optional Subjects with PCB (Medical Stream): Psychology, Home Science, Mathematics, Economics, Biotechnology, Fine Arts, and Physical Education
Optional Subjects with PCM (Non-Medical Stream): Biotechnology, Economics, Computer Science, Home Science, Fine Arts, and Physical Education
Optional Subjects with Commerce Stream: Mathematics, Informatics Practices, Psychology, Fine Arts, Physical Education, Multimedia and Web Technology, Legal Studies, and Entrepreneurship.

If you are fail in additional subject.

Your 6th subject marks are not counted to your overall percentage and even for admission purposes, only four/five subjects are counted. Thus, in a case where you’re not able to obtain a passing percentage in your 6th subject, it’s up to you whether you wish to write the examination again or not.

The marks in your 6th subject will however still be written on your final marksheet, and may not give a good impression to future recruiters if you’ve not passed the subject. This is something to take into consideration

A Safe Holi For Pets

EVERY year,it is sad to see the influx of coloured dogs at the WSD sterilization center during or after the holi festival.There is enough awareness about the toxicity and harm that the non-natural ,chemicals colours cause us and to our street pet animals

1. Avoid taking pets out during holi do they are not subjected to the toxic colors or balloons.Street animals too should be left alone and not subjected to the colours or water. The non natural,toxic colours that contains chemicals, lead, metal,mica,oxides, pieces of glass can cause a host of problems, including skin allergies.

2. Cats and dogs have a tendency to lick themselves and thus can ingest the harmful contents that might leaf to vomiting and also poisoning.

3. Colors can also enter the eyes or ears and lead to infection. This could also cause respiratory problems and lung infection.

4. Water balloons can cause injuries to delicate body parts of the animal such as eyes.

5. Bhang or any alcoholic or intoxicating substance is on the prohibited list for animals and should not be given to them

6. If colors has got onto your pets or Street amimals coat do not remove it with any spirit or paint remover but wash it with water and mild dog shampoo or consult a vet docter. Docters recommend the application of coconut oil to the coats of dogs to protect them from skin and hair damage. The oil forms a barrier around hair and prevent harmful chemicals from penetrating the skin. The oil can be removed later with water and mild shampoo.

7. We love our sweets during festivals and so do our pets but it is betrer to give them in moderation.

8. Street dog carriers and feeders can provide dogs with fresh water, especially during this festivals so that they do not drink and ingect water from puddles containing coloured water.

A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself.

During summertime, billions of birds are busy raising their young and alreadypreparing for migration.Some studies suggested that perhaps as many as half of all migrating birds do not come back home.Our birds need all the help they can get during this period of time.”

There are some ways through which we can protect them during this time-

1. Leave baby birds alone.

Although people mean well by rescuing the baby birds they find, in almost all cases, the parents are nearby and know best how to care for their young. If bird is injured that can be taken to a local wildlife rehabilator for treatment.

2. Ensure big birds,dogs,cats stay away from them.

Free roaming cats kill billions of birds every year , taking an especially high toll on fledglings. Loose dogs also have an impact on nesting birds; for example, roaming dogs are suspected of recently wiping out a colony of threatened Least Terns in Florida. Keep your pets contained, and be especially cautious near beach-nesting birds.

3. Maintain your land in a bird-friendly fashion.

Consider letting some of your yard or other property go “wild,” or garden with native plants. Even small wild areas act as sources of food and shelter for birds through the summer. Avoid or minimize tree trimming to prevent disturbance to nesting birds. Where possible, avoid mowing grass in large fields and roadsides until after July to enable ground-nesting grassland birds to safely fledge.

4. Be a good person.

If you’re lucky enough to have swallows or phoebes nesting on your porch or carport, keep the nest intact. The birds will be gone soon enough, and in the meantime, they will help you out by eating hundreds of insects each day. If you have active nest boxes, clean them out after the young have fledged. Old nesting material attracts parasites and can be a source of disease.

5. Don’t spray:Pesticides

Reconsider using pesticides, since even products labeled as “safe” will likely have negative consequences on birds. For example, many home and garden products include neonicotinoids, or neonics, which have been found to be deadly to both bees and birds in even minute amounts. When weddings, graduations and other parties are going on, put balloons on your list of don’ts. Birds can become entangled in the long ribbons; individuals have been found hanging from trees or asphyxiated.

7. Turn the outdoor lights out.

Review your outdoor lighting for unnecessary disturbance to night-flying birds (as well as wasted energy). Bright artificial lights can disorient migrating birds and make collisions with windows, buildings and other structures more likely. Consider putting steady burning lights on motion sensors. Or, if your outdoor lighting needs permit, consider blue and green LED lights as they are less
distracting to night-migrating birds.

8. Be a bird-friendly boater.

If you’re boating, avoid disrupting birds. Boats operated in proximity to nesting birds can cause behavioral changes, even leading to nest abandonment and failure in some cases.

So we need to protect birds in this summer time.Give only some time from your busy life to protect them.
