Pleasing The Inner You...

Life can be quite a journey sprinkled with experiences of all kinds. We all have a story to tell, some more exciting or adventurous than the other. We pick and drop incidents, memories, people and opportunities along the way.

Then, there comes an inevitable moment when the curtains come down. How will you face it? I would like mine to end with a standing ovation. Does that mean that I have an aspiration to be a superstar? Maybe not the kind the world is used to….

Not all superstars live in mansions and travel the globe more frequently than they eat. Superstars come in many forms. And they are not always rich and famous.

I believe an enlightened soul is a superstar in his own right. I also believe that someone who has changed many lives a superstar. A superstar is in the eye of the beholder. How many people behold you as a superstar is quite irrelevant.

For some, as long as he or she is pleased with life as it has been lived, is a superstar. I still have a long way to go. Am i greedy? No.

I just have a hunger to bring out the best in other humans. This hunger has no precise targets. It just knows that there is much to be done.

Is this a way of pleasing myself. Maybe. Maybe not. Do I envy someone who has no aspirations or dreams to chase? At times I do. And when I do, I rest. I know I will not be penalized for doing that.

So, then where have I been all this while? I know you have been wondering…

I have been discovering myself. I have been expressing myself through another medium. Art. Colors. Designs.

I did take a diversion to please myself. I figured that I was capable of doing something I never thought was possible. So, am I being irresponsible? Was I diverting my mind from my true calling? No.

Not giving myself the time and effort to discovering all that I contain would have been irresponsible.

The bottom line is….take the time away…to find out more about yourself.

It adds so much more value to yourself. It will help you to respect your soul more than you do. Have no time to spare? That’s your alibi and you have every right to feel that way…if that pleases you more…
Young Minds That Give Up Too Soon....

In recent times, there has been a sudden increase in children and youths committing suicide in various parts of the world.

Blame it on pressure from parents, peers or any other authoritative person but the hyper-sensitive nature of many young minds seem to be going out of control. It’s appalling how fragile and insecure the present generation is when it comes to handling tough situations.

There has to be some kind of awareness amongst parents, educational authorities and the government to prevent precious lives from taking their lives at the slightest provocation.

The basic mind-empowering starts from home. Parents have to imbibe a sense of self-confidence and security in their children instead of merely piling high expectations on them. Life is far too precious to be given up at the drop of a hat. If a child faces any stress or harassment at school or in any environment, he or she should be able to confront the issue or report the incident to his or her parents or guardian.

The stability that comes from a secure mind lasts a lifetime. Only an emotionally supported child will bloom. The demands of the job markets and educational institutes should not create a rift between over-stressed parents and their children.

Each child is a precious entity in this Universe and will not be abandoned by the laws of nature as long as one has self-confidence and mental security. Every thought that you embed in your child makes his or her future. So be vary of what goes inside there.

Hyper-sensitive children need to be taught how to remain calm and composed in any situation. Unconditional love of a parent or guardian is essential for such individuals as they become the ’soft landing’ each time he or she faces a difficult situation.

However, this parent or guardian must use the trust in this relationship to develop the child’s self-confidence and mental security.

How can you do that? There are a few important steps that go into transforming each child into a determined, confident and sensible adult.

I am very sure that no parent would prefer to compensate the life of a child just to get the best job in the country or be the topper in school. It simply isn’t worth it and the emotional trauma linked to the negative consequences that follow a highly-pressurized child who is hyper-sensitive is too excruciating to the family and victim.

So, its time that parents and authorities take a serious decision to prevent young, precious lives from vanishing into oblivion. They should not wither before they bloom.

Giving In To Your Senses....

We all perceive the world around us through our senses, some more or less than the others. Its crucial to understand the importance these senses play in our lives because we do take them for granted without realizing how much our lives depend on them. Yes, we need them for survival…but then there are those who have also learnt how to survive without one or more of them.

A visually disabled person will tell you how the gift of sight would make a difference to him whereas someone who has been seeing since birth could never value it as much.

When one becomes aware of the gifts behind these senses and how they affect the way we absorb everything into our souls, minds and bodies…it becomes a whole new experience.

Absorbency through senses leads to perception and that then helps us to make our choices and directions in life. The true value of your senses, when you become aware of them can change the way you look at life. You would not be able to define your likes and dislikes without them.

Therefore, when you learn how to focus on the great things life offers through your senses, you enhance the quality of your life and attract all the rigth things into it.

If we would concentrate more on the positive energies these senses bring to our minds, we would be able to cherish the very essence of the Universe.

A beautiful landscape that leaves you mesmerized may not be within your neighborhood but we tend to leave out the tiny sparks of beauty that lie within the crevices of every part of this gorgeous planet. A brilliant sunrise or a baby’s smile contains more energy to brighten your day than a landscape on a postcard can.

Take some time off to inhale the beauty around you. Immerse yourself in pleasing sights, sounds and smells whenever you can. Trust me…you will see the difference it will make to your mind and soul.

What Went Into Your Journal Today?

With the electronic media taking over the planet at breakneck speed, people are finding it easier to let go of their emotions and thoughts on blogs and other similar platforms. In fact, I am surprised at the level of transparency in some personal blogs where the writers are well aware that people are reading every word, but seems to hang their emotions on the clothes-line casually.

I remember the times, not too long ago…when people like me would treasure personal diaries that contain private information and notes that were written in secrecy. They would be stashed away, far from the reach of curious eyes and hands. Sometimes, going through a diary much later would make me wonder why I even bothered hiding it in the first place!

Yet, the joy of writing my thoughts and emotions remains a vital part of my schedule…albeit not daily. Regardless of which medium you use, these entries will always remain precious to you as an individual because you are capturing moments of your life and converting them into the best words that fit these expressions.

Well, I know it may seem impossible to add an additional task to an overflowing schedule so I figured out an easier way to record special moments that occur on a regular day. I rely on technology to help me save time and energy on maintaining a personal journal.

I would save tiny notes on my cellphone or use services like Twitter.Facebook if I come across something that needs to be shared. This gives me plenty to write about in my journal when I do find the time for it.

So, what really goes into the journal? That largely depends on your personal preferences. I would rather dwell with the positive aspects of life for that adds trememendous quality to my existence and also emits positive energy from me each time I read or think about it.

I also write about the less pleasant incidents for I believe that I will always be able to find a lesson behind it, if I haven’t done so as yet.

Sometimes, journals can really be a great way of collecting memories that are otherwise forgotten….like how you felt when you first met your spouse/partner or the gratitude you felt when someone helped you out during a rough phase. Trust me, even drifted relationships and bitter experiences can be brought back to life…if something in your journal reminds you of the great times. Nothing heals like time and a personal diary can always be a great source for recollecting the past and letting go of any negative energy that continues to float overhead.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

How To Be Lucky

Have you come across someone who you think has all the luck in the world? Things just seem to fall onto his lap without making even a fraction of an effort that you put in?

The realistic, hardworking kind somehow don’t quite like lucky people. They will tell you a dozen negative points about this topic in less than a minute…or maybe a little more.

The truth is, these ‘lucky’ folks don’t really have a fairy godmother watching over them. They simply have found the trick to getting lucky, with or without realizing it.

Luck is not dependent on what your horoscope says for the day or if you woke up on the right side of the bed. Luck is when you know you will get exactly what you want, no matter what.

For instance, what would you go after right now if you knew you would get it? Leave the how,why and when thoughts in some dark spot and focus on the answer. Think as big as you can. What would you really like to have in life right now?

How will you feel if you get it now? Will you feel lucky? Well, let me assure you that if you really believe in it; you WILL and not just MIGHT get lucky! Its as simple as that.

How can you really believe in something and make it appear? Sounds impractical? Well, that sets the winners apart from the losers. Whose side would you rather be on?

If you were to take a sneak peek inside the mind of a ‘lucky’ person, you will find that he or she basically has a positive attitude towards life. This person may not have just happened to be at the right place at the right time but has known that it would happen anyway.

Your ‘lucky’ neighbor believed that he or she can win that lottery and not by just hoping or wishing. Wishing is different from believing. Luck is based on believe and not hope or wish. This is where most of us misunderstand the fact behind luck.

Luck does not happen out of the blue. It has been embedded in the person’s mind and he or she has been sending out a positive energy towards the element with or without actually realizing the outcome. The intense desire for something and belief in its manifestation will attract the element towards this person.

So if you really want something, no matter what it is, you will get it.

You have the power within you to want anything at any point of time in your life. You are in control of your luck. Luck comes from within you and not by chance.

The next time you want to try your luck at anything, approach it with this attitude and composure. You’ll soon find out how truly ‘lucky’ you are, afterall!

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Your Headlines On a Positive Note: World Warming Up at UN Climate Summit?

Global Warming is finally getting the attention it deserved a long time ago but it looks like the heads of countries seem to be creating more heat from the climate summit.

Ego clashes and power-displays seem to take top priority in the itenary rather than the melting glaciers and pollution. When will they learn that the Universe is not concerned as to which country reigns supreme?

This isn’t a race for popularity. It is supposed to be a global effort in saving the human race and everything this magnificent planet contains. All it takes is for people to realize that saving this planet is the responsibility of each one of us. It all starts with you.

I am no political expert to give my views on what the leaders should be doing but its not difficult to see that at the end of the day, we all need a solution that will at least partially restore Earth to its former glory.

It is as much my job as it is of someone living on the North Pole to see that this Universe retains its resources and beauty for the generations that are yet to come.

All it takes is for people to drop their armor and nuclear weapons and start spending that time, money and effort in creating a better world for our children.

I would rather see my children grow up to be peace-loving,caring and understanding people who believe in dreams coming true than those who prefer to watch movies that magnify the possibilities of ‘doomsday’ and live lives that would lead them to their nightmares.

Global Warming - Let’s warm up to loving the Universe together….

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Cure From Loneliness

I cannot think of a better way to name this particular theory but I know that it has changed the perspective of quite a few people who went through serious bouts of loneliness and depression. Again, Universal Truth Of Life just showcases the primary characteristics of the Universe which are not too easily visible to most of mankind.

Let’s break this theory into smaller pieces and magnify them. Conditions like depression inevitably invite a sense of loneliness into the victim’s mind. This can be to a certain extent cured through psychological treatment but nothing is far better a physician than one’s mind.

From the moment your heart first began to beat when you were still in the warm confines of your mother’s womb, you have a soul, body and mind of your own. You are recognized as an individual by mankind. Although you will need to co-exist on a planet overflowing with people, you will always be looked at as a creation that forms a part of this Universe.

So the first step in overcoming loneliness is to understand that the importance of your existence goes far beyond the familiar surroundings you know. You play a vital role in the evolution of the Universe. Your biological connections to other humans are just one aspect of your existence.

Every atom in your body is connected to the Universe (and that includes everything from the air you breath to a massive ship that is sailing on the Pacific Ocean right now). You have the right to dream, want and claim anything on this Universe as much as anyone else.

Therefore, you need to empower your mind to accept the fact that you are a magnificent being in your own right. You are not alone for everyone and everything is connected to your mind, body and soul.

Loneliness comes from feeling detached to everything. I don’t think one can even afford to feel lonely if he or she realizes the magnamity of life.

Emotional dependence leads to loneliness when your expectations from the sources are not satisfactory. The best way to avoid any negative vibrations during such circumstances would be to look for the inner peace and connection.

Self-realization brings inner peace. There are many ways one can achieve this. Try meditation or self-hypnosis. Whatever you do, I can assure you that the outcome of realizing this theory will leave you thrilled. I began to love myself and life so much more than I ever did.

The mental strength that develops from this gives you the confidence and determination to overcome loneliness, rejection and depression.

There is no way you can be detached from this Universe unless you allow your mind to think so. You have a very important role to play, regardless of where or who you are.

In Chaos Theory, the term “Butterfly Effect” was given to a theory after it was confirmed that the flutter of a butterfly’s wings somewhere in Asia actually affected the formation of a tornado in the West. As ridiculous as this may sound,it is a fact.

Start looking beyond the physical realm and dimensions that you think you know and open your mind to accept truths that lie far deeper within the very roots of Creation.

You are not alone….just know it.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Challenge The Idle Mind

Find yourself worrying about everything that happens around you lately? Are those work hours really dragging into the nights for your spouse? Is your neighbor spying on you? Why have your pals not been calling you much nowadays? Was it something you said or did at the party last weekend? You get the point??

Well..if you spend a major chunk of precious time worrying over such issues each day, it does not mean that you’re walking away with an award for being the most cautious person in town. It only means that you actually do have more spare time in your hands than you should.

In case you haven’t noticed already, our brains are built to multi-think and that makes it easy for it to get you thinking about something totally different even if you are in the midst of a task that could be put on the auto-pilot mode.

Some tasks like reading an interesting book or giving a lecture requires full attention. Imagine thinking about being in front of your favorite icon when giving a presentation to your clients at work. I doubt that they would be able to connect Britney Spears’s tonsured head with the new building contract!

On the other hand, some tasks like driving and even peeling onions are done on auto-pilot mode. You don’t quite need to keep concentrating on what you do each second. Thus the mind wanders.

On an average, people who do seem to have more of such auto-pilot activities in their schedule tend to be the ones that find it easier to worry. Then, of course there are people who actually don’t do much throughout the day. They rent out their idle minds at times, to the ‘devil’s workshop’. Worry is not a positive emotion and deserves no respect for it breeds fear, confusion and even hatred that could easily flip your smile.

Remember, UToL clearly has spoken about how negative energy clings on to a person who dwells in negative thoughts in previous posts. Your children will grow up to be wonderful, successful people if you would just believe so. Trust nature and the power of the Universe to bring about those thoughts into reality. If you keep wondering what they are up to behind your back , it means that you lack trust and your suspicious nature will reflect in their actions and attitude.

What you think is what you get. Try it often and you will soon have created a life of misery and “I knew it” moments.

How do you avoid these idle thoughts? Well, challenge your mind to it. Find ways to keep it busy. The less time you have to worry, the better the prospects of getting ahead in life.

Driving for a while and have nothing much to do? Well, slip in a motivational CD into the system or listen to some soul inspiring or peppy music. That will help lure positive thoughts.

Multi-tasking, where possible - will only make you a better person. Its better to get too busy than bored. Boredom is worse than some of the deadliest diseases. It can take a sensible person and turn him or her into a nightmare.

Happy thoughts are good…because they energize positivity and reach out to attract more elements that fall under the same frequency. So, if you must think…program your mind to think about positive events or situations.

Any task can evoke positive and negative energy. The sight of a black cat crossing your path may make you cringe with worry while someone else may just pick the soft animal and cuddle it. Life gives you options in everything. Its you who decides your destiny.

Thoughts mould you and your future. Value them and think right!

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

The 'Album' In Your Mind

You never know when they happen and when they do, you can never forget them. Each time one of them happens, it promises to tug at your heart for a lifetime.

Fortunetly, life gives every one of us these precious moments that can never be erased from our minds. Moments that seem to stand still for ages, deep within the tiniest crevices of the heart and mind. These moments make me proud of being a human.

I am sure you have taken numerous photographs during the many phases of your life so far and probably will do so for as long as you can. For many years and perhaps even decades, we rely on them to bring back the laughter, joy and even sadness that remain captured within each image. Technology does wonders.

Life, strangely does not need any technology to give you those special moments. It has been creating an album of selective images that is always at your disposal, ever since you started having the ability to create them. Yes, you created this album. The album in your mind.

Besides your fingerprint and DNA, this ‘mind album’ is exclusively yours. It has been around and will be there with you throughout your journey on Earth.

Each image in this album developed its way into your ‘mind album’. Not every photo was a ‘Kodak’ moment. So, is each image a representation of bliss and happiness? I would not claim that they are. Some may not even have been taken during a pleasant moment in your life. Life has its camera on at all times because it makes you realize that there is something for you to learn, reflect and absorb from every phase of life.

I would like to take this moment to share just a few images from my ‘mind album’ just so that you will know what I mean. My ‘mind album’ is very exquisite, much like yours. Considering the fact that you may come from a totally different part of the world that holds its own culture, traditions and beliefs, I have had to select the images from my mind with care.

The first image is that of the day I discovered God in my life. It amazes me till this day, that I have not been able to identify him much earlier. His subtle but powerful presence, his love and promises have done so much more for me than any human possibly can. This is the moment my Creator taught me what it feels like to be born again. How befitting a word!

The second image happens to be the most disturbing as well as the most precious of all the rest. Its the image of the last time I saw my parents alive (which was just a few days before their demise). This image is so dramatic that I could almost reach out and touch it. Yes, it brings so many mixed emotions, depending on how and when I look at it but I know that every image has something to teach and this stands out as one of the most expressive moments that I am fortunate to cherish. I thank my parents and life for having granted me the wonderful opportunity of being there with them that day.

The next one is of a very special moment in my life. Its the moment that time stood still. The moment my husband first confessed his love to me….after I did! It took me all of the courage, emotions and anxiety I could possibly muster then to brace myself as I stared blankly into the computer screen, awaiting for a response. Yes, years later…we are still crazy about each other and it sure helps to go through the image when things are great and when they aren’t.

I am still waiting for an image of my son. He has created an entire album for himself in my mind and heart for there never really is a dull moment with him around. Yet, I am searching for that one image which will go into my ‘mind album’. I don’t know when I will find it. Yes, the first photo we took of him when he was born occupies the page now but I have a feeling that something much better is in the pipeline.

I find the ‘mind album’ amusing and enchanting for they are safe from any harm caused by nature or man. I believe that they will remain in one’s heart even when decades fly by and one can no longer remember much. The album remains with the soul.

Look at your ‘mind album’ when you can. I am sure you will be amazed at how life has evolved itself in you.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Rediscovering Your Independence

Relationships bring so many liabilities and amongst them is an addition that is added subconsciously - dependency. Independence comes with a price tag but so does depending on someone. With dependency comes a whole lot of baggage that contains expectations in various modes of intensity.

Although I would refrain from placing relationships under a negative scanner in most circumstances, the reason why I have made the choice to do so today is merely to point out to people who are undergoing tremendous stress and emotional anguish just because they manage to find themselves on the wrong side of depending on someone - that independence is a choice they have in life.

Expectations comes with a myriad of emotions and the closer the person is with you, the higher the levels of intensity and needs. One must remember that it is not always possible to avoid being disappointed because we all come with our shortcomings.

Therefore, instead of working your way out of it, a better option would be to work your way in. A great time to do this would be during hibernation (read previous article).

The person may not be intentionally disappointing you but nevertheless, tempers flare and silent sighs that initially go unnoticed would turn into a gigantic explosion with time.

Should you mention how you feel to the person? Yes. That is highly recommended. In fact, it is best to inform the person of how his or her actions have affected you. At times, the person may empathize and things may turn out in your favor. Yet, do brace yourself for any negative responses too. It helps to know how the person feels too.

There always are lessons to learn and life throws them in the strangest of times. Such situations give us the opportunity to pause and think if there really is a better way to get through without hurting yourself. You may find that realigning certain aspects of your life may actually turn out looking better than the present circumstance.

The change may look unpleasant and uncomfortable at first sight but its easier to choose the direction when you can rather than having to take whatever comes your way. You may want to even plan this change in your mind well before you leap.

People are always going to be full of surprises and you may want to be prepared to face them as far as possible. Trust me, some of them can jump out of nowhere and catch you unaware. These nasty ones can hurt quite a bit and instead of reaching out for your concealer to hide those scars, try to duck before it hits you.

You may want to look at the positive traits that come with independence. Better exposure, freedom, clearer mind,a sense of responsibility, etc.

Relationships can be a lot less stressful when we all learn to become more independent and have less expectations. I am sure that less stress means more comfort and trust. You don’t have to trust people to always meet your expectations. Trust them instead, to trust your ability of being independent when required.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

When It Is Time To Hibernate

I took some time away from everything to refrain and reflect, which did a great deal of good to my mind and soul. I must admit that I feel better, stronger and healthier than I have in many months.

Some call it my hibernation process. Frankly, I cannot think of a better term to describe this phase. No, I don’t move in to my backyard and hide in a burrow of sorts till winter passes by. Neither was I running away to hide from it all.

I would not refer to it as a ’stopping by to smell the flowers’ syndrome but I did do that quite a bit too.

Why would one hibernate when everything is going in the right direction? To look around, think and rest. We are not built to work like machines. Anyone who claims to be doing that knows that he or she is not too far from a nervous breakdown.

Respect your mind and soul for they are as much a part of you as your physical self. It helps one to think better and taking a break always refreshes the mind. I focused on other aspects of my life. I spent more time with my son who has begun counting up to 10! I was amazed at his ability to grasp something which only took a day to learn.

These milestones will live in my memories for ever. There is always something to take away from every phase of life.

Your soul needs to be cared for and loved. A regular schedule may feed your other needs but its the breaks in between that leaves your mind and soul thriving, preparing you for the journey ahead.

A trip to Bahamas may not be the ideal option, especially when you have time and money to consider. My hibernation period only took me as far as the end of the city limits (which really does not cover more than 20 kms).

I know that this post may look like a deja vu’ and I would not agree more on this fact because UToL is all about reaching out to your inner self and nothing can achieve this better than a peaceful and rejuvenating hibernation process.

What you do when you hibernate does matter. If you feel restless or bored…you are on the wrong track. Its best to plan your hibernation. Everything needs to be planned out and it won’t hurt to create your own checklist either.

Write a list of all that you need to think about. Issues that have been bothering you and those that have been long neglected need to be processed through the mammoth gray machine up there while you spend some quality time alone. Sometimes, its best to think of some issues when the heat has decreased. Trust me, its such moments that recreate bonds and dreams.

If some situations have caused tremendous pain, sorrow or anger and you did not have the opportunity to express or heal as yet - its the best to do so when you hibernate. Silent evenings staring into the sky or strolls in a peaceful environment can turn out to make you feel so much better.

Hibernation phases don’t have to run into days and weeks. At times, just a few hours would do. A friend of mine prefers to hibernate during his lunch breaks and at the gym. You can do it anytime but you have to remember the purpose behind it.

If you don’t feel better after hibernating, you were not really into it, heart soul and mind. I suppose you got the point, right?

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Let’s Not Get Too Comfortable

Life should resemble a flowing stream for there is so much more one can achieve from doing so. Are you flowing towards all the directions you want to? Or are you limiting yourself because you feel ‘safe’ or ‘comfortable’ being where you are?

One thing I have noticed throughout life is – people are never truly happy being where they are, no matter who they are. Each one has his or her unique way of expressing it.

We all want more from life but it all boils down to how many of us actually get down to doing something about it. Like I mentioned in another article:

“If you don’t change your direction from time to time, the change happens anyway but you may not like where you are headed.”

Some of us get so ‘comfortable’ with our lives without realizing that this attitude is denying you of the life you actually wish for. Puffy clouds with words like ‘risky’ and ‘discomfort’ keep hovering overhead as we go about living a life that we make ourselves believe we are happy with.

Risks come to those who keep looking out for them. Discomfort come to those who believe that moving an inch from where they are would come with additional liabilities and stress.

The difference between you and the person you would like to be is the comfort zone you live in. The water in the river has to flow through, over and under objects that come in the way for it to surge ahead. The logic is, we prefer a clear flowing river to a mug of water that has been stagnating for months.

The comfort zone may seem cozy for now and it may even make it look like the best place to stay in until something else comes along. Your bubble may burst any moment and the change that comes with it may not be exactly what you were hoping for.

I am sure that you would prefer to take a sip from the flowing river than the mug! Your life unfolds with every choice you make.

Going after the career or dream you want may require you to make a few adjustments to the ‘comfort zone’ but there is no book of rules that says you will have a long rough path to take. Your path to the new destination is completely under your control.

It will turn out to be exactly as you would want it to be. How can I be so sure about it? Well, quite simply because we all are who we wanted to be, regardless of whether each choice was made consciously or subconsciously.

Define your future and don’t get too comfortable when you get there either. I promise that you will find something more on the other side that you will want. Learn how to get uncomfortable – but with a positive attitude.

Discomfort longs for change. Voluntary change always yields better results than the ones you are made to take. If your mind says you are comfortable at the moment and that always asking for more is greed, the only response I have is:

The Universe has more than enough for all of us to have the lives we want to live. If you say ‘enough’, it is you who have not accessed what is rightfully yours and not destiny or luck. You are a part of this massive Universal energy. You are connected to every element within this magnificent realm and have the innate ability to connect yourself to any of them using different frequencies.

You connect yourself through your thoughts and actions. You have no limits as to what you can access. The only challenge that you face is your mind. You have to quit telling yourself that you are happy the way you are. Why limit yourself to what your emotions and physical self can see when scientific evidence proves that the entire Universe is at available?

The comfort zone you are used to is only an illusion that you have created from your past thoughts. You just have to start creating a new illusion with your mind and you will be able to live the life you want.

It is okay to stop and smell the flowers but remember to move ahead before they wither.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

The Undeniable Power Of Saying "NO"

Saying ‘no’ to anyone was the most difficult thing for me to do in the past. The resulting circumstances have at times been far more disappointing, distressing and even shocking than I would have imagined. Before long, I was confronting myself on my disability to say ‘no’ in the first place even when I knew that I was getting myself into a situation I would probably dislike.

There came a point in my life when I realized how much more happier I would be if I learnt to refuse some things that came my way. This is when I looked at life as a buffet.

You have the liberty of choosing what you want to fill your plate up with at a buffet although I must admit that I have been amused by a few who take a bite off everything! We all have our unique preferences and appetite that somehow manage to find the right choice of dishes from the spread. In that manner, we do tend to refuse some dishes. The right to choose the food that you eat at a buffet does in more ways than one appear similar to the choices that are made in life.

1. You need to identify the choices that are good for you but don’t necessarily come in attractive packages. You know that the boiled broccoli and asparagus will do more good for your health than the fried potato wedges although the latter looks more tempting. So, it is always good to pause and think before making up your mind on issues that don’t seem to look too good from the outside but may hold greater value on the inside. Trust me, you would not want to miss out on these ones!

Example: No one fancies a trip to the dentist but you know that it sure helps to keep those teeth in good shape. Postponing the appointment for the 34th time is not going to make you feel any better when those cavities start to hurt.

2. It is ok to say ‘no’ when you know that you won’t like a particular food. Its best to avoid stuff that you know you won’t like or benefit from. Sometimes we all fear that refusing someone (especially when the person is a loved one) would hurt him or her. I used to accept any request that flew my way because I felt that I had to keep everyone in my life happy. Was I always happy when I obliged? No. There have been instances where I had to regret secretly while the other person would hardly be aware of my feelings or empathize. In such circumstances, it makes one wonder if it really was worth all the pain and discomfort.

You have the right to happiness as much as anyone else does and if you keep thinking that your refusal will hurt the other person, it most likely would. On the other hand, approach the situation from a positive perspective. Think before you speak. Try the ’sandwich’ technique. That way the person will notice the positive vibrations from the exterior far more than the ‘no’ in the middle.

Example: “I sure would love to come and spend the week with your family but I have a very busy week ahead. I will do my best to make up for this soon. I hope you understand.

Saying ‘no’ to some things in life is okay. There has to be a balance in everything. The entire Universe is spread before you so that you can choose from it. Make use of the free will that you have been blessed with to obtain the best that you can become.

The only difference between you and the one person you would do anything to become is the choices you both have made thus far. Perhaps it is time you did something about that!

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Celebrating Life

Watching the Michael Jackson memorial on tv, I observed the manner by which his life as an entertainer, was celebrated. I wondered if he was able to celebrate his life, when he was still able to do so. I sure hope so.

Not many of us celebrate life as much as we deserve to. We are far too engrossed in surviving to wonder if we are truly living. This Universe is far too enchanting for us to miss if we would just stop to look. Our lives are so full of blessings and beauty if we were to just notice.

Fretting and fuming about all that does not seem right is only going to keep bringing in more pain and misery. Instead, look at the positive aspect of it and celebrate all that you have been blessed with.

Do what you have to do to bring more happiness into your life while you can. Celebrate your life by being the best of who you are. You have to realize the magnificence that resides inside that physical shell.

Strive to do all that you believe in, which makes you unique and outstanding. I believe in being the best in all that I do, even if I am just washing the dishes! I relish each moment I have been blessed with and believe that we all should do the same.

I may not know who you are but I just have one thing to say….celebrate your existence. You have been created with tremendous potentials that go far beyond what you can see and feel. This Universe can and will respond to you, if you would just believe in your ability to make it respond. You have much more power within your physical self than you can possibly imagine.

This is not just about thinking prosperity and success but about believing in them. You should believe that it is possible for you to achieve anything you set your heart to do. Nothing will ever work for you, if you do not have faith. Life relies on faith, as you do on air.

I, for one, believe and live a life of faith. I celebrate life, knowing that I have been blessed abundantly as an individual who realized this fact and who has been given the opportunity to share it with you!

This Universe is a blessing that you have not discovered as yet. Unravel it and the Universal Truth Of Life will leave you breathless with all it can give.
Limits Of The Mind

We all come with our own set of mental limitations. These limitations define who we will eventually turn out to become. Some of us prefer to work around goals that appear ‘affordable’ and ‘realistic’, believing that anything more would end up as castles built in clouds. Well, such assumptions almost always turn out right.

As for those who refuse to take no for an answer and would even dare reach out beyond the skies, their goals often appear too high and unreasonable to others. It may not really go down well with the audience when the big dreamer hits more home runs than anyone did imagine.

So, goals and dreams regardless of volume and level, are all conceived and planted in the mind equally. It is we who set the limits. If you keep reminding yourself that you will never be able to afford the swanky new apartment, your thoughts will make sure that you are not disappointed.

Extraordinary feats have been achieved in history and continue to do so because there are people who have set their limits much higher than what most would. They are no different from you and me. The Universe does not deprive one of any element. You are given as much access to everything on this planet as any other person.

If your limits are far shorter than others, it only means that you are denying yourself of so much more. You will not know what you are capable of unless you reach out. It is easier to just stand firmly on your feet and be happy with what you get but if you were to stand on your toes every now and then, you will be amazed when you notice how much more there is up there…

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

The Right Words Do Matter

Living in possibly one of the warmest cities on this planet, it is probably too easy to give up the ‘cool’ attitude and very few seem to resist the ‘hot’ offer. All conversations either begin or lead to the climatic condition and I often find myself in them at least twice a day.

I don’t try to duck each time someone mentions how horribly hot the day is. That would not make me feel any better about the weather or the conversation. Instead, a smarter way of approaching certain unpleasant issues would be to use milder or more positive words to describe them.

A ‘bright’ day sounds much better than a hot and sultry one. Hot is uncomfortable and sweaty Whereas bright isn’t. Get it?

Does that mean that I stop feeling warm and sweaty? No, but the less of a big deal I make out of it, the more tolerable and pleasant it appears. I can think of quite a few such examples that can really make you change the way you look at many circumstances.

Try saying ‘issue’ instead of ‘problem’, ‘hurdle’ instead of ‘obstacle’, ‘phase’ instead of ‘crisis’, etc. I hope you get the idea. If you can think of more examples, do add it in as a comment so that you can share it with all of us!

You may not be able to switch over to this new habit overnight but with gradual usage, it would soon become a part of your life. Every habit needs to be tamed and the good ones get better while the bad ones diminish.

Soon, people will begin to notice the change in you and may just find your new habit adorably contagious.

For now, I am going to just leave you with this thought. Have a fantastic week!

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

When It Is Ok to Cry....

Sadness, disappoinment and anger are emotions that need as much attention as happiness does. You have to keep an eye on them and play your cards accordingly. You cannot appear happy on the outside and be full of remorse or frustration on the inside. Prentending to feel what you don’t will not get you ahead. It will harm you, psychologically and physically.

It is ok to feel sad or angry. A few weeks ago, I discovered that a very close friend of mine was betraying me each day for almost 2 years by spreading awful rumors about me to practically everyone we knew. That appalled me beyond belief and I was very hurt and upset. She had misused my trust in the most disgusting manner possible. To make things worse, when she realized that I had found out about it, she tried every possible way to annoy me and it still happens every now and then (she also happens to be a neighbor).

I could have pretended to bury the negative emotions under the rug and go on with life as if nothing ever happened but that would be denying the truth. Staying positive also means that you should know how to deal with negative circumstances.

I knew I was terribly hurt and disappointed and could feel the intense negative vibrations that were emanating from her but I also made sure that I did not reflect her emotion. The vibrations she was sending will not affect me if I enveloped myself with positive energy. I was determined to feel positive by focusing more on the positive aspects of my life. I had to fight the negativity with loads of positivity. I was not going to allow anyone to create a negative path towards me.

How would I do that? Well, you should be able to relate to this if you have been visiting this blog often. I played more, gave thanks to all I have more often and removed the clutter in my life.

This process healed me from within and soon, the negative energy in the atmosphere began to diminish. Emotions need to be dealt with and not buried.

I could have confronted her and expressed my anger but that would not have yielded any positive results. One needs to think and rethink before responding to any situation. It is better to be safe than sorry, in most circumstances. Anger is just a reflex in humans that is usually unneccessary.

Sadness, on the other hand, is not a reflex. It is a necessity. Prolonged denial of sadness can lead to many psychological and physicaly problems. In extremely stressful situations, such as in the event of the death of a loved one, one cannot remain composed and calm. These are natural occurences that deserve to be treated with the emotions that are rightfully created for them. I would be insane if I claim that I would never cry in such a situation. That would classify me as a mentally unstable individual and not an optimist.

So, it is ok to cry. Learn to define the differences between unnecessary and necessary situations. We tend to confuse ourselves at times and regret it later.

Cry when you must but it should take you to the next level in the healing process. Cry because you are hurt and not because you have lost hope. Destructive thoughts, when crying will lead you to more pain and frustration. Crying is an emotion that heals. When those tears dry up, allow yourself to heal. Get up and get going!

I was sad that I lost a friend but I have not lost hope. I know that I will always find better friends who will value my thoughts and feelings. In the end….life goes on and I am feeling absolutely perfect again!

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

I know that there has been a reasonably long break between this and the last article. I did not realize how time had flown (time always flies when you love life).

Well, just when I was thinking about what I should write about today, I received a call from a close friend saying that her sister had just had a baby. One of the most precious moments in any parent’s life. I still remember the first time I stared into my son’s big brown eyes.

Anyway, there are so many wonderful things happening on this planet no matter how ignorant you are about it. Let’s not get pessimistic and start thinking of all the horrible things that could also be happening right now. I would rather not think about something negative unless I can do something to change it.

It is important to keep those positive thoughts flowing through your system for as often as possible. After all, its tough to stay away from bad news nowadays because bad news sells more than the good ones. If you don’t find a bad news interesting enough, someone will come along and add some spice to make it sensational.

Universal Truth Of Life is about absorbing and transmitting positive vibrations. So, what good does thinking about the wonderful moments in other people’s lives do for you? Well, it sends out positive energy to them. They may not even know you but you still co-exist on the same planet and are part of the entire universe. Sending out positive energy to any element will only reproduce it in you. Thats the only way it works, scientifically.

Here is what I would like to think about as I type this article:

Someone just won the lottery right now.
Someone just became a parent.
Someone just made it to the top of Mount Everest.
Someone is falling in love right now.
Someone just ate his first decent meal in a week.
Someone’s life is just being spared by an assailant.
Someone just moved in to a home he has spent years dreaming about.
Someone’s toddler just walked or spoke for the first time.
Someone just got his first job.
Someone blind could now see for the very first time.

In fact, all or some of these could be happening as you are reading this right now!
If you had paused after reading each sentence to think about it, you should be able to absorb the emotions that come with such moments.

This exercise comes in handy when you don’t feel so positive. I have in fact recommended it to several clients who swear that it works.

When you think of a particular incident, your mind conjures up related emotions even if you are not directly involved in it. Emotions are formed through thoughts and they contain atoms. These atoms then form a path that lead to the elements that fall under the same frequency. This is the cycle of life.

Anyway, these theories form the core essence of UToL and are simplified scientific structures that have been toned down to fit anyone’s life.

I hope you enjoyed the experience as much as I did.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.

Love While You Can

The value of relationships has reduced to a large extent in recent times, owing to the ever increasing pressures that we all face in many aspects of life. The numerous responsibilities and roles we play each day can cause a strain in important relatonships in our lives.

Why else do we see more divorces and nuclear families nowadays? It is largely because most of us take our loved ones for granted. Sprinting up the career ladder is an admirable quality but you must halt once in a while to look behind you to see if you are at the risk of losing more than you would like to, when you get to the top.

Your understanding spouse and adorable kids need to be assured that you still care and love them, while you are busy chasing your dreams. You may not have the energy or time to hang around with them or help out with the chores at home each day, but you can surely fit in a few moments of affection whenever you can.

“I am doing all this for the family.”
Of course you are! What use would it be if no one is around when you reach the finish line?

“I will have all the time in the world to spend with them”
That is taking their existence for granted. Maybe they don’t feel the same way about you. What begins as a longing for your attention and affection could turn into loneliness, neglection and disappointment with time.

“They will always be around and so will I.”
It can get very lonely at the top when you get there.

Technology has given us ample opportunities to reach out to our loved ones even if we are thousands of miles apart. Squeezing in a moment or two to send a message or email just to let them know that your thoughts are with them can make a big difference.

Subtle physical affection each day can do wonders to relationships. Value those around you. Love them and let them know that too. Love is not a guessing game. It is an emotion that has to be expressed.

Call your mom or dad at least once a week. Spend some quality time with them. Let them know you care. They don’t have to be pushed to the back seat when more people come into your life. After all, they have spent a great deal of their lives bringing you up!

Likewise, kids need your love and attention. Home is the only place we all return to for love, warmth, security and affection. Children need to be reassured that you are there for them and that they can always count on you.

Deprivation of affection and love can leave even the most patient and understanding person feeling neglected, unappreciated and lonely. No one deserves to feel that way. Especially not those who love you.

You can spin around in the circle of life for as long as you want but no journey is worthwhile unless you are standing with someone you love, to share a smile or tear.

Original post blogged on b2evolution.
