Study Break Brinner!

So imagine it’s the tuesday of study break, you have been at the scibrary all day studying and it is now dinner time. You look at the clock and it says that it’s 6pm, you turn to your friends and say, ‘Hey guys… should we hit up broadway for food?’. Your friends look at you and judge you cause they are all like, ‘No man, I’m over broadway!’. That’s when it pops in your head ‘Woah, we could totally go have brinner!!! and it’s only $5, and there will be other totally awesome CU peeps!”
Well guys you can stop imagining and start living ’cause Tuesday the 27th of September at 6:30pm you can join other UWA CU peeps in eating breakfast for dinner after a ‘productive’ day of study, because you’re worth it.

Here is some research to help you make an informed decision:
-”Breakfast increases neuronal connectivity” (Tibbits et al, 2011)
-”I find breakfast a more spiritual meal than dinner or lunch (Fry et al, 2011)
-”Social performance has been shown to improve with a hearty serving of breakfast” (Hollick, et al 2011)
-”Fried eggs is the new champagne” (Anonymous (David Reeve),2011)
-”He that but looketh on a plate of Ham and eggs to lust after it hath already committed breakfast with it in his/her heart” (C.S.Lewis)
-”A decrease in study with an increase in breakfast on a tuesday evening doubles productivity on a wednesday” (Bird et al, 2011)
-”Breakfast is the most important meal of the day so you should probably come” (Clarke et al, 2011)
So guys there you have it, research that backs the hypothesis.

The last decade has seen what for many has been a surprising resurgence in atheism as a vigorous intellectual force.

What caused this resurgence?

Islam is constantly appearing in the media; from the controversy around Sharia law and the ‘ban the Burqa’debate, to fallacious arguments that portray all Muslims as terrorists. There’s debate about somewhat fringe issues regarding Islam, but the claims of Islam are rarely investigated meaningfully. For instance, the belief that Jesus is a prophet of Islam. Was he? What does this mean for how we engage with Islam philosophically, culturally and culturally? What does this mean for Christianity?
Come and join us as we explore these questions and similar ones in week 6 with Samuel Green, an expert on Islam from over East.

Christians, Muslims and the Prophets: a talk at the Christian Union public meeting presented by Samuel Green. Tuesday 6th of Sepetember, at 1pm in Social Sciences Lecture Theatre.

Q&A Sessions. Wednesday 7th of September in Alexander LT. 1pm: about Christianity (particularly for Muslims to ask questions about Christianity, but all welcome. 3pm: about Islam.

Debate – The Way Forward for Humanity: Christianity or Islam? Between Samuel Green and a representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Australia. Thursday 8th of September, at 6pm in Social Sciences Lecture Theatre.

Jesus Works: Religion Doesn’t

There’s a lot to dislike about religious people; arrogance, self-righteousness, hypocrisy.
We agree.

Come and hear why and how religion doesn’t work, and Jesus does, at our public meeting; Tuesday, 23rd of August at 1pm in Social Sciences LT.

We will also be examining the teachings of Jesus in relation to Australia’s legal understanding of what religion means at ‘Jesus vs. The High Court of Australia’; Thursday, 25th of August at 6pm in Law Lecture Room 1.
