Looking at this video and especially at Caroline first outfit I got drawn by her cute little red jumper which got me thinking “I saw it before”. So I dug into my pictures archives and retrieved those pictures that I was probably saving for a relevant post… Well today it is…!

Bringing the kilt back into fashion, she certainly didn’t go unnoticed! I remember the last time I wore a Scottish skirt, it was after watching the movie Clueless… And of course with the mandatory knee high socks. No need to say that I didn’t look as good as Caroline..!

I thought she looked just like summer with her cute halter neck floral dress… What do you think?

The Karl Lagerfeld Paris being the most expensive collection, uses the finest trims and fabrics, leathers and furs. Lagerfeld is the everyday menswear line and Karl the everyday and affordable women line.

I had the opportunity to see his new collection last week at the Negri Firman studio while working  as their photographer for the event. And I have to say, the three collections are all very elegant, well cut, and functional.

Some might hate Mister Lagerfeld for his outspokenness, sometimes well offbeat and others on the contrary will love him for it. For my part, what I love about the man is his undeniable talent and ability to design for several brands while always renewing himself. And in my opinion it is a rare quality.

You see, it is already quite a task to create new collections over and over again but to design for two or more brands is an achievement in itself. Especially that you have to be capable of infusing your identity just enough for everyone to recognize your touch but not enough to smother the brand’s own identity…

Back to the clothes, what I loved the most in his new collections was his attention to the details and the fabrics. Ah yes, and those shoes…!

I just discovered this beautiful Alexander McQueen backstage video on Dazed and Confused and I couldn’t help but sharing it with you immediately..!

As some of you may know, when I was living in London I had the amazing opportunity to work at the Alexander McQueen studio and then a few seasons later with them in Paris on what would be later know as McQueen’s last show…

So seeing images like those brought me a lot of beautiful memories. I feel fortunate to have worked with a legend and thanks to my time there not only did I learned so much about clothes and craftsmanship but I met some great people. Luckily at that time even though I didn’t have a blog, I did recorded the days leading on to the show with my little camera, which I later published when I created this blog.

But first, is a little preview…

Let’s start with this video from ELLE featuring Rihanna. I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of Rihanna but I do like this video! The scenery is beautiful and so is the styling. But what got me me the most was the light and those games of shadows inspired by of the old Hollywood movies. (By the way, have you seen Sunset Boulevard? It has one of the most amazing black and white photography and light techniques)  So thanks to this video I have now discovered a new talented photographer by the name of Tom Munro. What do you think about the video?

Here is a video about Yayoi Kusama. Also know as the Japanese artist who transformed her obsession for dots into an art. She came to fame in the 50s after moving to New York, although she already made a name for herself in Japan. Her techniques include the repetition of patterns, the use of psychedelic colors and of courses dots! She applies her art to anything from toiles, trees, streets, scupltures, bags (she colaborated with Louis Vuitton), and many other supports.

In fact, if you are in London between now and the 5th of June, I suggest you to have a look at her retrospective at the Tate Modern.

Then… P’trique and his delirious video which is once again mocking the fashion world..! I discovered him with his “Shit’s fashion girls say” And I have to admit that since then I have become a total fan of his parodies…

Here is an upcoming series of videos on bloggers from around the globe by Toni & Guy. The first videos will be out in early May. I have to say I am quite curious to see what it will be about as I really enjoyed the previous projects of the same kind by Levis, and Lancôme, featuring bloggers such as Aimee Song and Gala.

And to end, I came across this Vogue Italia video on the Northen Light and I had to share it with you as I really liked the photography. To be honest, the mood and colors do remind me of the latest Prada advert by Steve Meisel. Which is probably one of the main reason I liked it in the first place…

I saw a lot of inspiring, beautiful and sometimes just weird installations. I met a lot of creative people but also some who were just curious about what this special week had to offer. Like I told you before, the Design week is an event that is definitely worth your time. If not for the design, for its atmosphere.

These pictures were taken in the Eastpak – Maxisport corner where you could witness various artist customizing live a series of 20 trolleys.

I have to say it was quite fun to see the artists drawing, spraying, painting on those bags under our very eyes as if I had to do the same thing in front of a public, I think I would have lost my abilities and just sprayed the whole thing in black…

I also loved their tagline written on the wall…
