Second Annual Artistic Expressions Art Auction to Benefit LPAR

Are you an animal lover? Have you always wanted to help homeless animals in your community but you just didn’t have time to volunteer? Well now is your chance! Lilo’s Promise Animal Rescue is having their Second Annual Artistic Expressions Art Auction at the Collingswood Community Center on April 14, 2012.

Come out and join us for wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres and works of art donated by local and national artists (including yours truly!). The evening’s proceeds will directly benefit the animals of Lilo’s Promise Animal Rescue. Lilo’s is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that relies solely on donations. They have no paid employees and all donations go directly to help the animals.

A Day in NYC

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hopped on the train yesterday to meet my friend Cyd (another fellow photog) in the city. We had a great time walking around with our cameras, stopping for a beer every now and then. I left the 85mm f1.8 on the whole time. Some folks were kind enough to give permission to take pictures of them…some didn’t notice. Here is some street photography, just to prove I’m not a one-trick pony.

Island Beach State Park

I love the beach, always have. These images were shot at one of my favorite places in New Jersey, Island Beach State Park. I go there as often as I can, it doesn’t matter what time of year. When I’m there, all my troubles are far away. I brought my friend Dan (a fellow photographer) and his dog Dexter to show them my favorite place. As you can tell from the big smile, Dexter had a good time. It was a spectacular day for walking on the beach…not so much for dramatic beach pictures, but I took some anyway.

I sometimes forget how lucky I am that I can just get in my car and drive for about an hour when I need to see the ocean.

Happy belated new year everyone! I hope that 2012 is a prosperous year for all. It is 60+ degrees today so I took a drive Ocean City to shoot the abandoned 59th Street pier this morning.

I am working on my 2012 show schedule and other activities for the year and will update the site once everything is finalized. Hope to hear from you soon!

What a fun day it was! Although we had some technical challenges, it was a rewarding and successful day. Look at these beautiful faces…many of these dogs are cherished members of their families today because of Lilo’s Promise Animal Rescue. Lilo’s is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization. They cannot do what they do without our help. Stop by the site and see if there is anything you can do to help.

Thanks to the American Legion George Walton Post 371, all of the families who purchased a session, Kelly Jordan, Charles Bruder and the “shelter girls” for all of your hard work that day.

Hello friends! Sorry I haven’t updated the site in a while, lots of projects to work on these days! In the spirit of holiday giving and to help a cause near and dear to my heart, I am offering mini studio sessions on Saturday, November 26 starting at 10 am. The last appointment available is 2:40 pm. For a $40 donation to Lilo’s Promise Animal Rescue you will receive a 20-minute “mini” studio session for your pets and/or family and a CD with 4 high-resolution images (2 stand alone images and 2 images inserted into customized holiday card templates). There will be 4 templates to choose from. Our temporary studio will be at the American Legion Hall located at 41 Lakeview Drive North in Gibbsboro, NJ.

Because the space is donated and our time is limited, sessions are by appointment only. Please contact Heather Speeks.

Mackenzie – Senior Student Portrait Session

I met Mackenzie and her mom Kim at a local park for this session. They were such fun and Mackenzie is so adorable that it was difficult to choose which images to process for proofing! Thanks Kim and Mackenzie for making it soooo easy.

Emily & Errol

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of shooting Emily and Errol (that doesn’t sound right, does it?). Errol has joined the Air Force and is headed to San Antonio early next month. Here are a couple of images from that (very humid) morning in Washington Crossing State Park. Great place for a photo shoot BTW.

Still Looking for Her Forever Home…

I’m reposting our girl Dutchess…she has been at Camden County Animal Shelter for more than a year now. Her fave volunteer, Ben, has been giving her some basic training and she’s doing very well. She’s an energetic girl who loves to jump, play and run after toys. She loves to go on long walks and would be very happy to have a fenced yard. She gets along with some other dogs but we’re not sure about kitties. Click here for her Petfinder listing.
