The Free Methodist Church World Missions has setup a website to keep us updated with the latest news, video, and needs during this rebuilding process. Additional information will be supplied here as it is made known. In the interim here are some ways to pray as suggested by the Caribbean Evangelical Alliance:

1. Generate ongoing intercession for the people of Haïti and the Government of Haïti. They are dealing with devastation and destruction that is unprecedented in Haïti or anywhere in the Caribbean in our life times.

2. Generate ongoing intercession for the responders who will be going into Haïti. It is not unusual for these persons to be plagued with deep depression and exhaustion as they seek to help the injured and dying and as they move people from shock and grief to rebuilding the nation.

3. Pray earnestly for the coordination of the aid that will be flowing into Haïti from numerous sources. Pray against corruption that always raises its ugly head in these situations and pray for the aid to quickly reach the people who need it.

4. Pray for pastors and church leaders who – while dealing with their own shock, grief and loss – will be ministering to everyone around them. Pray for their spiritual, psychological and emotional strength and their daily renewal so that they can minister effectively in this situation.

5. Pray that the country will be able to move quickly from disaster relief to planned reconstruction and that God will grant wisdom to rebuild stronger and better.

6. Pray for all those who will be making decisions on the relief and reconstruction phases. With God’s help Haïti can rise from this tragedy a stronger and better nation.

7. Finally, begin to make preparations for a meaningful response to our brothers and sisters in Haïti.

We had such a great time the last time we got together and people have been asking us “when are going to glow bowl again…???” Well, here we go! Don’t miss it this time (if you weren’t able to be with us on our last memory-making outing). Here’s the details:

Saturday, 2/6:  Glow Bowling at Letchworth Pines, Portageville NY.

Meet there at 5:30 pm.  Bowling from 6 to 8 pm Cost: $8 per person and $4 per person for 5yrs old and under (shoes included). There will also be a bounce house available for children under 10.  RSVP needed to ensure we have the proper amount of lanes. Sign up at church or e-mail tbonefed@rochester.rr.com

Suggested *donation: $5.00 per person / $20.00 for a family (max. for 4 or more)

*Proceeds from this evening will help to offset the cost of pastors and delegates attending the “Overflow” Annual Conference for the Free Methodist Church of North America held in Orlando, FL in April 2010.

We are starting a 13-Week Divorce Care Video Series and support group. The group begins November 16th and meets on Mondays at 6:30pm. The intercessory team also meets at 9:00am every Sunday in the church library for prayer specifically directed for the Sunday worship service.

We practice a Day of Fasting & Prayer for the Free Methodist Church global & local missions. Also, during this day of fasting there will be a time of prayer & devotions in the church sanctuary at 12 noon – everyone is encouraged to attend!
