But as of now, I would not be purchasing gold, I will be selling gold as the USD looks to be making for a comeback breakout.

What does this mean for you? possibly better prices & lower cost of Gas.
Stronger USD means that the USD has better 'purchasing power' ... that is especially good for international travel.

The Value of Gold ... Buy Buy Buy may not be the story of 2011!

Short & Sweet:

The value of the United States Dollar is at an all-time low versus many foreign currencies; In fact, as of this afternoon the Australian Dollar or the 'Aussie' reached it's all time high value vs. the USD. the Value was 1.0295 USD for every AUD.

To put this into perspective, 1 AUD {Australian Dollar} was worth about $.80 USD {United States Dollar} within the past year.

I.E. If an Australian came to American and stayed in a Hotel for $300.00 USD a night. A while ago that would have cost them 375.00 AUD, but now since their currency is so strong, they can buy up more USD with with their currency. That same hotel room from the past year or two, today would cost 291.40 AUD. So an Australian's vacation to the U.S.A. is about 23% cheaper from just a year before.

Now to get to the main point, the reasoning for this example. With a stronger currency; such as the case with most countries vs. the U.S. right now {with many currencies setting all time high vs. the USD within the past few weeks}, this is a bad ordeal for the exports of a country. Since the Currency is so high valued it cost more to buy that currency. Since the USD is so cheap, other countries can buy up more USD which in turn will strengthen the currency, causing money flow and inflation {which is a good thing in finance when controlled; to complicated to explain}.

Gold has always been an inverse to the USD but now that the USD is so cheap, it is make-or-break time. This week could certainly be evidence of the coming strength of the USD in the future, because of this ... there is no way I would be purchasing this gold any time soon.

I can be wrong, this is strictly an opinion and shouldn't be pressed to weigh on anyone to make any financial decisions or investments.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://valueofgold2011.blogspot.com/2011/03/value-of-gold-buy-buy-buy-may-not-be.html' title='The Value of Gold ...
