Such a majestic fur-ball.

For awhile now I have been on the hunt for a good brow powder that wasn’t warm, but not too light either. I keep trying out various brands but all the medium-toned powders weren’t ashy enough for my taste. I really dislike warmth in my hair or brows, it just clashes with my skin tone.

So while at Sephora not too long ago I was checking out the Anastasia line, since she’s known for her brow products, and saw the Powder Duo sets. They come in six different sets:

• Ash Blonde – Cool Taupe
• Gold Blonde – Warm gold
• Strawburn – Reddish blonde
• Medium Ash – Taupe based brown
• Brunette – Dark warm brown
• Ebony – Deep neutral brown

Each compact contains two coordinating shades, one lighter one darker. You can use them individually or blend them together. I decide that Medium Ash looked about right for what I was looking for.

I have mainly been using the Medium Brown side because I prefer a darker brow. It’s very cool-toned and taupe-y, which I like! It doesn’t fade or smudge at all during the day, and no fall-out either. I really like it!

The days are longer and hotter now, and China Glaze has twelve new neon shades for your tips ‘n toes in their Summer Neons collection.

I must say right off the bat that this is my favorite neon collection ever. I wasn’t expecting AT ALL to love these as much as I do. If they had just been a bunch of neon cremes I wouldn’t have. But iridescent shimmery neons? Oh yes. There are a couple non-shimmery shades in here, but few.

As far as formula some of them are thicker and you should wait a few minutes in-between coats because you will get pooling and/or cuticle drag. But nearly all of them came out perfect after 2-3 coats.

Sun-Kissed

Sun-Kissed is a shimmery highlighter yellow. This is uber-bright. Even brighter in person. I love it, the shimmer just makes it perfect in my eyes.

I’m With The Lifeguard

I’m With The Lifeguard is a shimmery neon green. Wow this sucker is super bright! LOVE.

Orange You Hot?

Orange You Hot? is a neon shimmery orange. The shimmer is yellow. Love this orange on me because it’s not too yellow for my skin.

Pink Plumeria

Pink Plumeria is a warm toned medium shimmery pink. It’s bright and a super flattering pink, but not quite as neon as the previous shades.

Love’s A Beach

Love’s A Beach is a neon fuchsia pink shimmer. Purple shimmer in this one and yes, it’s super bright! I love it.

Flirty Tankini

Flirty Tankini is a coral/pink shimmer. The shimmer is more of a cool-toned pink but the base is warmer. Another fabulous shade I really like. Bright but not as neon as some of them.

Hang-Ten Toes

Hang-Ten Toes is a neon flamingo pink shimmer. Purple shimmer in this one, and very cool toned. What can I say, another one I totally love. Who knew I would love so many pinks in one collection?

Beach Cruise-r

Beach Cruise-r is a neon purple shimmer. Super pretty, love it. Argh I know I keep saying that but it’s really true!

Surfin’ For Boys

Surfin’ For Boys is a neon coral/orange with purple shimmer. HOT. Super bright and not a very common shade. This is one of my favorite ones.

Under The Boardwalk

Under The Boardwalk is a medium raspberry creme. No shimmer here just a shiny creme. Goes on sheer and you need three coats. Finally one I don’t love, haha.

Splish Splash

Splish Splash is a bright blue shimmer. Not really a neon but still a bright blue. No iridescent shimmer here, which makes it a little more “hum drum” to me.

Ride The Waves

Ride The Waves is a medium blue jelly. Sheer, as you would expect from a jelly, and this is three coats. Not a fan of shades where I can see my nail line, but that’s just me.

Overall: I must say I am really amazed how many of these I love. I don’t even know what to wear first! I may just have to do 10 different skittle shades. The only ones I didn’t love were Under The Boardwalk, Splish Splash and Ride The Waves.

NARS Trouville nail polish is part of their summer 2012 collection.

What is Trouville? I had to Google it and discovered Trouville-sur-Mer “is a commune in the Calvados department in the Basse-Normandie region in northwestern France. Trouville-sur-Mer borders Deauville” according to Wikipedia.

You learn something new every day.

Trouville

Trouville is a soft pink creme. It’s a bit of a warmer pink shade, and fairly sheer. In fact even after three coats it’s not completely opaque, but almost. It’s not a neon or in-your-face pink, but rather understated and quiet. Good for those who don’t like venturing into brights too much or have to wear conservative shades for work.
