Yoga Tanks: Spiritual Gangster.  I love a simple tanktop for yoga class- and the playful words and designs Spiritual Gangster uses on their basic tanks puts them in first place.

Yoga Matt: Lulu Lemons’ The Matt in black.  I love, love, love this matt.  It has the perfect stick and grip before and after its covered in sweat.  I wouldn’t recommend getting it in a light color because dirt will show!

Grip Towel: Yogi toes Skidless in yellow.  I can survive the smoking hot classes without my skidless- best part is you just throw it in the washer when you get home.

Yoga Pants: Lulu Lemons’ Wonder Under pants. My go to pants- they are the best- capri or regular version.

Sports bra: C9 by Champion Seamless Fashion Cami.  I own two of these and I cant wash them fast enough.

Oil: Tea Tree 100% Pure Essential Oil.  I love to dab a little on my wrists and forehead before practice.

Remembers those kilim floor cushions I was drooling over the other week?  So no wonder I am smitten for this pillow shop- sofArt.  The name they picked for their store is unfortunate (sof art easily confused with so fart) but their pillows are gorgeous.

Found this fun National Parks Checklist at ElloThere and it reminded me of my dream to one day take my kids (future kidos) to several national parks in the States.  My parents did something similar with us and they are some of my best childhood memories.

Bonus points- its made with coconut oil and oatmeal!

The funny part- I was making it to get rid of left over ingredients in preparation for the move.

 My Perfect Banana Bread

Adapted by The Live in Kitchen

For the bread:

1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup oatmeal

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

4 tablespoons coconut oil

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 1/2 cups mashed ripe banana (about 3) – leave some chunks!

1/3 cup plain yogurt

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup roughly chopped walnuts

Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Coat a bundt pan with cooking spray and set aside.

In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, oatmeal, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Set aside. In the bowl mix coconut oil and brown sugar on medium speed until well blended, about 1 minute. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the banana, yogurt, and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients- do not overmix.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake 40-45 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes in the pan on a wire rack, then remove and cool completely on the wire rack.

• Wear: My latest and new favorite summer dress, JCrew’s villa dress in stripe.  Easy, soft, movable and perfect for everyday (wish i could wear it everyday)
  
• Read: Little Bee- a special story that starts with a horrifying scene on an African beach.

So once I signed a lease for my new home over the weekend (Yay!) I immediately turned to Floor Planner  AKA Sims Real Life.  The program brought me back to my Sims days and I drained several hours of my day playing with room layouts…  Things were a bit tricky because I do not have the dimensions of the condo- so I estimated and looked at the 5 photos I do have.  I think Im close, but I will have to tweak it once we get measurements.  One of my favorite parts about the program is how you can change the size of the furniture to match yours!  Amazing.

If possible, I am now more excited then ever for the big move.  Next steps, finding movers and packing up all my goods.  Count down: Less than two months!

• Want:  I am currently seeking a new comfy deep set sofa.  If only I could find out who this one is made by!  The search continues- and I have to make the decision of leather or fabric?
• Love: I’m obsessed with the Skimm a daily newsletter that simplifies the news headlines.  It is difficult to stay up to date in such a quick paced work environment so the skimm is perfect!  And it is easy to understand.  
• Do: I want to create a standing succulent garden  like this one to add to my plant and herb collection.
• Wear: I’m currently wearing my Sam Edelman leopard loafers as often as I can.  They feel like comfy slippers.
• Read: I just finished reading  The Book Thief.  It was a beautiful story of a German girl during the Holocaust.  I highly recommend it!

Honey Fig + Pecan Scones
Adapted by  Brown Eyed Baker

Ingredients:

• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats (my oatmeal mixture is half steal cut oats and half old-fashioned oats)
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 egg
• 1/4 cup canola oil
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup honey
• 2 tablespoons almond milk
• 1 cup diced dried dates
• 1/4 cup chopped pecans

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a large baking sheet with greased aluminum foil.

In a medium bowl, stir together flour, oats, baking powder, and cinnamon. Then, in a smaller bowl, whisk together egg and oil. Then add honey and mix well. Fold the liquid ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined. Then gently mix in half and half. In a small bowl, cover dates and pecans with sugar and then fold into dough.

Use your hands to form a large ball with the dough.  Place dough ball on  baking sheet and flatten to 1/4 in.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20  minutes or until lightly golden brown. Serve warm, preferably the same day the scones are baked. Otherwise store in an airtight behavior or freeze until ready to eat.

Chop up dates and pecans.

Cover dates and pecans with sugar and then fold into dough.  Mix.Mix.Mix

Bake at 350 degrees for 20  minutes or until lightly golden brown.  Perfection!

Time for the confession… I am easily susceptible to Craigslist addictions.

Exhibit A) My search for Felix (a rag-doll cat).   I turned to Craigslist because the doglike personality Ragdoll cats have can cost you a pretty penny and I did not have $1000+ pretty pennies to spend on a furry friend.  Yes, I was searching for a dog in a cats body so my “dog” would have the ability to sleep for 19hours a day.   It took me around 3 weeks to find Felix.  Want to know the trick?  Stalk Craigslist.  No but seriously you have to be the first to pounce to get the the best.  So for 3 weeks every 30 minutes to 2 hours you could find me on craigslist searching not only Indianapolis but all surrounding cities… and all cities surrounding my parents in Cleveland.  I told- its a serious problem.

Exhibit B) finding a place to live in Atlanta.  I find an apartment that looks good- instantly I think it is amazing and I tell myself this is the one.  I then get super giddy and can not stop thinking about the apartment until we have checked it out.  When I say “we” I mean Greg… because I have not been in town to view one apartment yet.  Its a cycle- once greg views the appartment and says “no” I get frustrated and upset because i am back on my apartment treasure hunt (aka browsing craigslist).

I am extra anxious tonight because I found the cutest little house in the exact location we want.  Catch is we would have to sign for a month earlier than we want and Greg needs to wiggle his way in to see it tonight.
