Outdoor Insights Prostaff member, JD Piatt, calls in a coyote in central Ohio. The setup was an unusual one, the coyote finally makes it to the stand after they had called things off and were heading back to the truck to hit another spot. Luckily the coyote was spotted crossing an open field heading to where they just were. Coyote Bites Gun Barrel

A wounded coyote bites the barrel of my rifle when I approach it in the field. This footage was shot in north central Mississippi just west of Como, MS on cold January afternoon. The lesson for hunters: ALWAYS approach dangerous game with an abundance of caution, and NEVER reach for dangerous games until you are positive its dead.

I got busted by the first coyote when I walked in to my set. He’s too far out for the audio to pick it up however you’ll see him bark at me each time I call. While I am focused on the first one, a second one appears at about 100 yards. I bring it in to about 20 yards and miss. I made some rookie mistakes on this se…t as you will see. I filmed this one about 2 years ago. Enjoy!

AR15 SCOPE CAMERA

Mounted my Sony camcorder on an A2 stock of the AR15 Bushmaster Varminter. View is through a Leupold Mark III scope, 4.5 x 14, 50mm objective lens. Video shows some random views at 14X, about 50 yards out, and firing one shot into a water jug. Brief slow-motion segment at the end of the exploding jug. Ammo used was .223 Hornady VMAX 55 grain. Hopefully, this setup will work for coyote hunting and some long-range target shooting….alot of possibilities!
