Lately I have been studying isometric pixel-graphics. Here is my very first illustration using this technique.

Adobe Fireworks has all the tools to create effortless isometric pixels, I just wonder why this genre is so under-rated and undocumented. If I ever have time, I could whip a basic introduction how to achieve this style within few easy steps. Meanwhile, let the grid texture in the background be a hint how its done.

Here are 16 fresh styles for Adobe Fireworks to get that perfect punched letterpress effect.

I noticed that doing this effect always from scratch is a major speed bump, so I created 16 fresh variations of the letterpress effect. Altho this effect is quite simple to achieve, having premade styles will definitely save time and give surprising results for the designs.

This is what some of the effects looks like:

Download Inset / Letterpress Styles (1.3MB)

Each style is unique and will work differently with various backgrounds. While one specific style might look crappy on darkish grey background, it might look superawesome on light blue texture. I recommend to use these styles with fontsizes such as 90 to 150 pixels.

Have fun!

Bokeh in web design is now days a highly popular visual trend. Here are 30 fresh and unique styles for Adobe Fireworks. Non-destructive, dynamic and easy to modify.

Demonstration

www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbdSF95nQbQ

Looking cool, huh? Feel free to download these goodies:

Download Bokeh2 Styles (1.81MB)

Few Notes

These Bokeh2-styles works best with light backgrounds. In case for dark backgrounds, I recommend to check my previous Bokeh styles.

These styles are easy to modify. Check the filters list in Properties Panel and locate a filter “Fill Color” and select a color that works for you. Try altering the size and feather of Stroke for interesting results.

You can use these styles in any public artworks. If you make some good visual stuff with these styles, gimme a holler (or tweet) and make me happy.

Yep, Adobe Fireworks is hybrid tool for mastering bitmaps and vectors. The bitmap-part in Fw has been quite humble servant, while the Photoshop is the King of bitmaps.

One of the cool functionality in Photoshop are the Actions – which allows designers to get their photos to a next level. Fireworks also can do lots of tricks with photos too. Say hello to Photo Styles.

Photo Styles

Photo Styles are a stacks of highly tweaked non-destructive filters, optimized bringing that perfect mood for photos. Each style brings a certain instagr.am / Little Photo feeling to the image without actually flattening the image. With few adjustments, the results are endless.

Download Photostyles.stl (0.13MB)

There are never enough of Fw resources, so I’m going Creative Commons with these styles. You can pretty much do anything with these. Play, remix and tweak and share you own styles. I’m very interested what you can do with these, so ping me with your styles :)

PS. Check out the other Photo styles for Adobe Fireworks by Linus Lim!
