This invention has more potential than a touch screen. With a touch screen, all actions are limited to a 2-dimensional surface: the screen. With this invention, actions can potentially occur within a 3-dimensional surface that is slightly above the screen.

Another advantage with this invention is that since the user does not need physically to touch the screen, it is possible to avoid depositing fingerprints on the screen, even without using gloves.

How ever upon starting the market app it say to add an account, but on clicking YES to add account it exits the app. Any idea why this is happening? It is way past time Android was forked to eliminate the dependence on Market/Play. Clearly going to need to find a cheap Android device I can root and use to connect to Play for the few apps I can't find elsewhere on the Net in APK format.

Frustrating that Google literally steals so much personal information...trying to keep a physical Android tablet from reporting everything back to the Big G requires jumping through so many hoops even Apple is beginning to look benign in their invasive overview of every iDevice. (I changed the emulator device info in /system/build.prop to the Nexus S, and received a message to my bogus Gmail account thanking me for my "purchase!" Too frelling creepy...)

Don't waste your time. From SDK version 15 onwards, this method no longer works.

Furthermore, if you have upgraded to SDK version 17, if you have any AVDs with the Market app installed (using a version of the SDK before 15), they will either no longer boot or the Market app will be deleted from them.

Google is very serious about not wanting us to install its proprietary apps on the emulator...

I'm able at that state (Android 2.3.3), but when i switch to Android 4.0.3 bad comes along..

at 2.3.3 i able to download some apps and then it crashed to "Your Device isn't compatible"

maybe it caused by the build.prop (in System.img) or the default.prop (in Ramdisk.img)
i've been able to make new system img to give new default build.prop on /system but the result is beyond.

the /system will not persistent
if i do it with real device it works
cmiiw, the market build.prop fix need reboot to clear cache and some unresponding GoogleServicesFramework.apk that we have been force closed.

I found the emulator always give /system partition to be full erase when booted. (see -verbose)

i'm still look forward to get inside.. hope find another findings

i'm testing with platform 10 r 2 (2.3.3)
also, i've skip the build.prop edit. works fine

I was the lead developer on this project and just wanted to offer some corrections.

We actually only use Ease.js, which is the Penner Easing Equations from inside Easel. Our canvas renderer is 100% custom.

Regarding the particle hack, so glad you found that! There are a ton of "developer" hacks, mostly global variable, just waiting to be tweaked.

If you can't seem to set the size of you System partition with 'emulator –avd DemoDevice –partition-size 128',
note that it might be bigger than 128M.
The emulator for Android 4.0.3 has a system disk of already 168M so setting it to 128M still does not give you any free space and pushing the build.prop file will give an 'Out of memory' error.
Setting it to 'emulator –avd DemoDevice –partition-size 256' will solve that propblem.
