			<description><![CDATA[Vidyaranya Education and Development Society (VEDS) is located at Mandur, Bangalore East Taluk of Bangalore Urban District. It is a non-profit making and secular development organization which was started by like-minded people in 1991.
VEDS has grown to the heights of success by rendering its services to poor women, children, aged, and disabled, etc in Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, and Hassan Districts.

Infrastructure

We have strong infrastructure that consists of office buildings, motorbikes, and computers, etc. Our offices and centers are well furnished and have all required facilities. Our organization is supported by 95 full time and 25 part time employees. Our staff includes subject matter specialist in IEDC, Gender Specialist, Social Specialist, Legal Specialist, Documentations, HRD Specialist, Health Specialist, and Education Specialist, etc. Our dedicated team members have around 5 to 8 years experience of this field.

Rehabilitation Centre for Women (SWADHAR)

VEDS has been running two rehabilitation centers “Sanjeevini” and “Sarojini” under Swadhar scheme focusing to help women who are in crisis. Swadhar is central government’s scheme sponsored by Ministry of Women and Child Development, New Delhi. These centers are located at Mandur, Bangalore East Taluk of Bangalore Urban district and Chennarayapattana of Hassan district. There are 100 women and a few children in these centers and each center consists of 50 women.VEDS provides free boarding and lodging facilities and medical facilities in the homes. These homes are furnished with all essential facilities including television and VCD and Prathnas are also organized regularly. Children are also taken care in all aspects by our center. Furthermore, inmates are trained on various skill based trainings such as Beautician Course, Tailoring, Computer, and English Spoken courses in order to make them self-dependent. Many women those who were in the centers are helped to get jobs in different private industries and factories.

			<description><![CDATA[North East Network (NEN), is a women’s organisation established in 1995 during the mobilisation process for the Beijing Conference. Ever since its inception the organisation has been raising women’s rights issues, particularly within the developmental and political context of the North East region of India. In its early years the organization focused on empowerment and issues of health and livelihood. And from the beginning itself we took serious note on issues of violence that take place in conflict situations, and in the domestic sphere.
