vB4 Move ad in header down 40px ?

I am testing the vb3 to vb4 upgrade currently, and am testing my ad placement in the header 1 location through the ad manager in vbulletin. However it places it right at the very very top. I need to move this ad down about 40px because it goes through my notifications link.

I am testing an upgrade from 3.8 to 4.2 and tested the 3.8 update style tool, Quite a fair bit missing. Sadly the styler is no longer around.

The style is now missing the left and right border images.

In additional css of the old style I found this

i was wondering about the max number of concurrent users (approximated) for different shared hosting, VPS and dedicated servers plans

i hope all of you (by using your solid experience) help the community by sharing such knowledge.

It will help many of new sites owners to choice the right configuration for their sites from the beginning.

mine is:

Plan: Bluehost shared hosting
concurrent users (avg): 30 logged-in users, 500 viewers
Max concurrent users: 5,205 viewers, on 16-04-2012 (site was as good as dead :D)
CPU: unknown
Ram: unknown
Bandwidth: unlimited
hdd: unlimited
No. webserver: 1
External DB server: No

Maxing our RAM- what are we doing wrong?

Please forgive me- this is a very serious problem, and I don't know whether to ask here or in hosting so I am asking both places hoping for some insights.

Our site has up to 300 users online at once. 2700 members. 140m database, 9G of files. We are running VB 1.12 patch one, and using several mods, including Evo Chat Box. We recently switched to dedicated hosting at HostAtom.net. The server has very good space, good bandwidth, but only 768 RAM. With everyone on at once, we spiked the server a few times and went down. We went up to 1024 but still spiked it. BTW the site is www.Hobby-Machinist.com

I took down the chat box and things calmed.

My question is this- should that many users at once max out the RAM?
What kind of RAM do you guys use for comparable sites on VBulletin?
Anyone else had this problem?

I also had to restrict Guest access to bring down the memory drain. This is no fun. I would like to find out if this is normal on dedicated hosting. 1024 costs $60 month for a small hobby site- is this usual?

vB4 Postbit problem

Running 4.1.12 with a custom theme.
Have an issue with my template when a post is being made and choosing to add a video or one of those popups.
The colors are out of whack. I have obviously made the text color white as image below will show.

If someone could point me in the correct direction (template) to modify this please.

Workaround for no default blog category issue

There have been a few threads over the past couple of years regarding the absence of an option to set a default category for new vBulletin Blog entries. So far, there has been little response from vBulletin and nothing on the horizon to suggest that this is going to be included any time soon.

In the meantime, I'm using the following workaround:

1. Admin CP >> Languages & Phrases >> Search in Phrases

2. Search for "uncategorized" in both phrases and variables

3. Locate the entry that says:

Quote:

vBulletin Blog Global Phrases Containing 'uncategorized'

uncategorized Standard Phrase Uncategorized

4. Click on Edit

5. In the Transaltion edit box, type in "Member Profile" or some other designation of your choosing.

5. Save.

Now, if someone does not choose a different category when posting, it will show up as "Category: Member Blog".

I had a licence key stolen from me about a year ago but the person who stole it changed all the information on the licence. When I emailed vbulletin asking for my licence back, they said the licence was not mine it belonged to someone else and to get in touch with that person. I showed vbulletin the purchase receipt from my email address clearly saying it was me who paid for the licence and all my old information but they still refuse to give it back. I tried recovering the licence number but I can no longer access the files. Any suggestions on how I can retrieve it?
