Full Bitmap Exporting

Vector Studio now fully supports exporting of images. It can export to PNG, JPG, BMP and GIF. We have a full interface built for resizing the image and color reduction.

Reset and change password available.

The ability to reset and change your password is now functioning. If you try to login and you forgot your password you will be given the "Did you forget your password?" link which will reset your password and send the new one to your email.

You can now change your password by clicking on the application menu and then selecting "Change Password" next to the logout button.

New Features: SVG and PNG

You can now open SVG files with vector studio.

You can also export images as PNG files. We'll be supporting other image types soon as well as more options to control how the images are generated.

New Feature: Recent Drawings

Vector Studio now remembers a list of the last 15 drawings you opened and displays them niceley in the application menu.

Both local and remote files you've opened can be listed there.

When running the browser hosted version of Vector Studiothe local files won't be listed because we arn't allowed to know the filename due to security restrictions.

While running in the browser the list of files is stored on your hard drive in a secure isolated storage system.

We've also started working on a status bar which will provide helpful hints on what your current command can do.

New Feature: Align and Distribute

We are happy to say that their are few new commands that will make perfecting your art much easier. Align and Distrubute have both been added to the main menu under Objects -> Align. Also they have been added to the right click context menu.

Remember that align will align to the last object selected. Distribute will evenly distribute all selected objects along there center points.

New Feature: Local Fonts

You are now no longer limited to the fonts we provied. You can use any font on your local computer by selecting the Local Fonts tab of the text entry screen.

There is still much more improvement to be done with the text handling of the program. We're evolving it quickly and won't stop until it has a perfect interface.

New Web Site and Blog Launched

We've created a nice new web site and blog.

We're using blogger.com from google to run the blog. Please subscribe to the feed for it so you can keep up to date with all the latest news on this site.

For the site design we choose the Plain template from Open Source Web Designs by James Koster. We're pretty happy with it, but we're considering moving it from a green theme to a blue one.

New Feature: Right Click Menus

We've added some new right click menus to the drawing program. You can now right click on any drawing and a context sensitive menu will pop up.

This allows for another way to edit your drawing that minimizes the distance you need to move your mouse, which reduces the cost of using the interface.

The new office ribbon control is completley designed to reduce the cost of the interface. It uses nice big buttons that fully utilize the screenspace and it does away with toolbars which were too small and always changing.
