Si quieres fisgar un rato en los estudios de ilustradores como Kyle T Webster, no te pierdas la sección de Drawger denominada Studio Tours. Estos reportajes fotográficos, con algo de interiorismo y decoración, una parte de voyeurismo y, sin duda, con el aliciente de la inspiración visual, me gustan mucho.

Otra forma de visitar virtualmente un estudio es mediante una vista panorámica, como la que ofrece Bohonus VR (haciendo clic en la fotografía del artista visitamos el estudio; los enlaces llevan supuestamente a la página web del artista.) Moviendo el ratón podemos desplazar la vista hacia todos los rincones de cada estudio.Más cosas en esta línea: los sets de Flickr Professional creatives at home, Art studios y Annotated workspaces y The workpaces.

Project s2dio, en guillotine, es una excelente colección que ya comentamos anteriormente en Vectoralia.

Para los aficionados al cómic, en Comic Book Resources hay una sección dedicada a los studio tours.

Para más inspiración, una simple búsqueda en Google Imágenes suele encontrar resultados muy interesantes.

Bad Menus es una de las inagotables diversiones que te encuentras en Flickr. En este caso se trata de menús de restaurantes con traducciones desastrosas, diseños horrorosos, faltas de ortografía tremendas, fotografías repugnantes de lo que debería ser apetitoso…
En muchas de las fotografías es necesario ver el detalle de lo que se muestra o leer los comentarios. Como en ese menú en el que anuncian un “delicioso pollo obeso y fofo”. Todo muy absurdo y divertido.

El nuevo proyecto de blog del ilustrador Juan Berrio se llama Cuaderno de frases encontradas. Con una periodicidad en principio semanal, se plantea ilustrar frases que va oyendo por esos mundos. En estas microhistorias cotidianas, el registro va de humorístico a grave, como la vida misma. Interesante idea y un dibujo, como de costumbre en Berrio, sobrio y elegante. En estos trabajos suele aprovechar la textura del papel para este trazo de pincel seco que da mayor expresividad a la figura.

De Juan Berrio os recomiendo muy especialmente su delicioso librito Calles contadas (publicación propia, disponible en su sitio web.) Este libro lo comentamos en un post anterior y vale la pena ver el video promocional que produjo, con una libreta moleskine zig-zag, estilo japonés, dibujada ex profeso con un nuevo conjunto de ilustraciones.

Me encanta la idea (y vale la pena la repetición) de Idea Paint, un producto especial de pintura que esencialmente convierte todo tu espacio en una enorme pared blanca continua, al estilo de velleda. Algo que puede promover el espacio en cuestión como un lugar idóneo para el desarrollo creativo y la colaboración.

The Grimace Project es una aplicación Flash que me ha llamado la atención. Se trata de un recurso online muy útil para el dibujante de comics o el ilustrador. Puedes mostrar expresiones faciales correspondientes a diferentes estados emocionales sobre un personaje tipo cómic.

Combinando dos de los 6 parámetros-emociones es posible conseguir sutiles variaciones en la expresión, que resultan muy indicadas para representar estados emocionales que serían de otro modo difíciles de expresar verbalmente.

Además, puedes modificar la aplicación a tu gusto si descargas el SDK.

Se trata de una idea derivada del libro Making Comics de Scott McCloud (versión castellana editada por Astiberri: Hacer cómics.)
