Hoho... after about 6 months not writing in my own blog. Now i'm return. But is this effect others life? Who knows...

Ok from now on i'll be focusing more on contributing something to open source field. Not to mention that i was also completing MySurfGuard project which was developed while i was in previous company.

Those words really catch my attention (from Eric S. Raymond who wrote The Cathedral and the Bazaar and founder of fetchmail).

1. Every good work of software starts by scratching a developer's personal itch.
2. Good programmers know what to write. Great ones know what to rewrite (and reuse).
3. If you have the right attitude, interesting problems will find you.

I suggest to all of you to read this book. It was really interesting to help us clarify what is the meaning of open source. Really. Think about the phrases above and you will know what it's means.

The Wilderness of Brontok

Disclaimer: I will not responsible any damage done to your computer. Just do it if you are confident with this instructions.

What? What is this folder icon? How can it be the same name? Let's try to click it. Then the whole system was infected by brontok. *Sigh* This is what happen when we usually do the automatically clicking procedure. We were illussioned by human tricky mistakes.

So how can we cure our system back to normal? Ok follow this step and you'll be safe.

1. First and important step is if you're in network, disconnect your pc and disable any file sharing to prevent the worm from spreading. After that, download your preferred antivirus program such as AVG and their latest update using any clean pc.

Also download UnHookExec.inf from Symantec. We will use this file to enable registry back to normal. Later on i will teach you how to use it. Transfer all the necessary file to your thumb drive or writable cd and put it on the infected pc. Make sure you thumb drive is set to read mode only.

2. Then disable System Restore to ensure that the worm will not be brought back to your system. You can turn it on later after you eliminate the worm.

3. According to trendmicro site, the worm will automatically close or terminate any program with the following name: Registry, Command Prompt, System Configuration, Anti-virus programs (etc: AVG, Avast, Trendmicro) and other specific names including Process Explorer. This means we can't use the Process Explorer to kill the worm.

So alternative to that third-party software is Complete Process Manager (CPM). It's a shareware software which means you must pay to get full version. It's up to you whether to buy or not but you can use the full features in trial version.

4. Once you install the CPM, run it and search for the process that run with the name: crss.exe, inetinfo.exe, lsass.exe, services.exe, smss.exe, and winlogon.exe. Make sure it's not run by the System because you can't terminate process that run by the System. You can only kill/terminate the process that only run by yourself.

After you kill that process, kill the main worm process identified with a letter and number (%Windir%\j[RANDOM].exe and %Windir%\o[RANDOM].exe). In example, j0128237.exe or o218230.exe. Usually it has two process running in background.

5. Run the UnHookExec.inf file by right-clicking on it and choose install. Now you can access the Registry Editor. Go to Start->Run and type regedit. This will open Registry Editor program.

6. Follow this step to remove the worm entry in Registry Editor. You can find the key/subkey by using the search function from that editor.

Navigate to the subkey:

7. After you done editing the registry value, now it's time to install and update your antivirus. When update complete, scan the whole system for any infected file and delete it. You can also move it to the vault if the file is important for further investigations. After the full scan is complete, reboot your computer.

8. If your windows was successfully loaded without any unnessary black dos window or something like that and when you check in your folder there's nothing duplicated directories, congratulations your pc is clean from the wilderness of brontok!

9. Do a full scan again if you suspect any malicious activity and don't forget to update your antivirus frequently.

Using a Single DHCP Server to Serve Multiple Networks

As stated before, DHCP clients send their requests for IP addresses to a broadcast address which is limited to the local LAN. This would imply that a DHCP server is required on each subnet. Not so. It is possible to configure routers to forward DHCP requests to a DHCP server many hops away. This is done by inserting the IP address of the router's interface on the DHCP client's network into the forwarded packet. To the DHCP server, the non-blank router IP address field takes precedence over the broadcast address and it uses this value to provide a DHCP address that is meaningful to the client. The DHCP server replies with a broadcast packet, and the router, which has kept track of the initial forwarded request, forwards it back towards the client. You can configure this feature on Cisco devices by using the ip helper-address command on all the interfaces on which DHCP clients reside. Here is a configuration sample that points to a DHCP server with the IP address 192.168.36.25:

How to sign RPM Package

If you use gpg to sign rpm package for Red Hat Linux Enterprise 3 AS, add this file macros at /etc/rpm like this:

# vi /etc/rpm/macros
add lines in macros file (in vi editor)
%_signature gpg
%_gpg_path ~/.gnupg
%_gpgbin /usr/bin/gpg
%_gpg_name Sazarul Izam Md. Saad (Chromium)

Make sure %_gpg_name is same as your name in your pgp key. If not during signing package it will fail. Then:

# rpmbuild -ba --sign package.spec
you'll be asked to enter passphrase, and enter it.

After signing the package, you can check it by using:

#rpm -K package-xx.xx-xx.rpm

and it will show

package-xx.xx-xx.rpm: (sha1) dsa sha1 md5 gpg OK

meaning the package was signing by you.
If the message is not ok, you must import your pgp key first to your rpm pubkey. To doing that, just type:

# rpm --import RPM-GPG-KEY-name

To see what's in your rpm pubkey, type this command:

#rpm -q gpg-pubkey*

To see more detail about the pgp key, type this command:

#rpm -qi gpg-pubkey-version-release

To delete the imported key, just type:

# rpm -e gpg-pubkey-version-release

That's all. Hope this can help you to manage rpm and pgp keys.

PGP ni direka oleh Philip Zemmermann pada awal tahun 1990. PGP penting utk mengesahkan identiti kita dan mengesahkan perkara2 lain mcm dokumen, pakej, surat dll. Ok la disebabkan PGP dh gune IDEA dan IDEA ni telah dipatenkan maka kite tak leh gune pgp yg asal. Aku sages korg gune GnuPGP sbb:

GnuPG is a complete and free replacement for PGP. Because it does not use the patented IDEA algorithm, it can be used without any restrictions. GnuPG is a RFC2440 (OpenPGP) compliant application.

Ok cara nk install gnupg ni kt gentoo senang je. Memula ko taip ni:

# emerge -va gnupg
pastu tekan 'y' utk install pakej ni

Bila dh install gnupg. Maka bole la korg generate key utk identiti korg. Koman dia mudah je, taip ni:

#gpg --gen-key
pastu pilih no 1 utk DSA and ElGamal,
amik keysize 1024. atau korg bole letak 2048 utk lebih sekuriti,
pilih 0 utk valid forever. maknenye key takkan expired,
pastu masukkan nama, e-mel dan komen,
dan masukkan bende penting iaitu passphrase. passphrase ni mcm password.

Ok skang korg dh pgp sendiri. utk upload ke pgp server, korg boleh upload dlm btk binari atau ascii armored. utk dptkn dlm btk binari taip koman nih:

# gpg --output identiti.gpg --export emel@korang.com

atau dlm format ascii armor, taip ni:

# gpg --output identiti.asc --armor --export emel@korang.com

sebelum upload ke pgp server, tgk dulu hex code utk pgp key korg, taip ni utk tgk pgp key in hex code:

# gpg --edit-key emel@korang.com

then korg leh upload ke pgp server. aku sages letak kt pgp.mit.edu sbb kebykan pgp key ade kt situ. jgn takut sbb nnt pgp server akan saling forward pgp key korg ke pgp server yg lain.

# gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --send-key 0x5E82CF73

lepas dh upload. bole la korg blagak sket dh ade pgp key ngan attach pgp signature kt emel korg. byk emel client yg sapot pgp nih mcm thunderbird, outlook dan lain-lain lagi. Enjoy!

How to edit icon in Enlightenment? This is how to do it in manual way

Now let's go through the traditional way, in other words customizing the menu etc by using configuration files. You will need to make a simple text file with the name ".order" in a certain location. The directories are as follows:

E17 menu --> ~/.e/e/applications/favourite
IBar --> ~/.e/e/applications/bar
Engage --> ~/.e/e/applications/engage

You can also place a ".order" text file to ~/.e/e/applications/startup to specify what applications are started automatically every time you start E17. The file itself is a normal text file with the EAP filenames in the order in which you want them to be displayed (and if the file is used to specify startup applications, it's the order in which they start). Here is an example:

mozilla.eap
xmms.eap
bmp.eap
evidence.eap
entice.eap

This would add the above icons in the order specified. For the menu, you may also create submenus. To do this you need to create directories within ~/.e/e/applications/favourite and then create ".order" files in the directories. It follows the same logic except that you can also add directories. For example if you made a directory called ~/.e/e/applications/favourite/multimedia you could have a ".order" file in ~/.e/e/applications/favourite that looks like this:

multimedia

This would create a menu with the three above icons and a submenu called multimedia. To specify what icons are displayed in the submenu, you'll need to create a ".order" file there too. It's also possible to create submenus within submenus. The directory options in the menu have no icon by default. You can add an icon for them by placing an icon file called ".directory.eap" within the directory in question. The ".directory.eap" file should contain no other data except an icon file and an application name, which can be anything you want - the application name will be the name of the menu option and the icon will be what's shown in the menu in addition to name.

For example, let's check the previous example. If you wanted to create an icon for the "multimedia" option in the menu, you would have to place a ".directory.eap" in ~/.e/e/applications/favourite/multimedia. In this case the application name for this icon could be "multimedia" for example. It could also be anything else you want. In other words the menu directory option name (application name) in the ".directory.eap" does not have to be anything specific, nor does it have to match the directory. For more examples, download a tarball of HandyAndE's (E17 dev/Engage author) ~/.e/e/applications/ directory from http://andy.elcock.org/Files/_files/applications.tar.gz.

For example if you already have an EAP file that includes the application execute line "evidence -T rephormed" you could change it to "evidence -T tosh" with:

$ enlightenment_eapp -set-exe "evidence -T tosh" /path/to/evidence.eap

Installing Separate Kernel Modules

Configuring the Modules

You should list the modules you want automatically loaded in one of the relevant files listed below. You can add extra options to the modules too if you want.

/etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.4 - Kernel 2.4 only
/etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 - Kernel 2.6 only
/etc/modules.autoload - All Kernels

Therefore, if you have a kernel module that you want to load -- which is common to both 2.4 and 2.6, then place it in /etc/modules.autoload. Otherwise it can be placed in the appropriate file.

To view all available modules, run the following find command. Don't forget to substitute "" with the version of the kernel you just compiled:

# find /lib/modules/kernel-version/ -type f -iname '*.o' -or -iname '*.ko'

For instance, to automatically load the 3c59x.o module, edit the appropriate file and enter the module name in it.

# nano -w /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.4

This can be also done in a one-liner:

# echo '3c59x' >> /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.4

Primary Attribute
Each hero has a primary attribute depending on the Hero's type (i.e. Paladin, Archmage), the first will give a privilege to the Strength while the second will get a bonus thanks his Intelligence. Each point added to the Hero's Primary Attribute also grants him a '1 damage point' bonus (aside of the other bonuses described below).

Strength
Strength is the measure of the physical power of the Hero.

Hit Points: 1 point of Strength = 25 increase in hit points.
Total HP is calculated from the formula 100 + 25 * Hero's STR

Hit Point Regeneration: 1 point of Strength = .05 hit points regenerated per a second

Intelligence
Intellect relates to how well the Hero can control magical forces.

Mana Capacity: 1 point of Intelligence = 15 increase in Mana.
Total Mana Capacity is calculated from the formula 15 * Hero's INT.

Mana Regeneration: 1 point of Intelligence = .05 points of Mana regenerated per second.

Agility
Agility defines a Hero's ability to avoid attacks and attack more quickly.

Ok sini aku nak bagitau camne nk tuka archive yg list sebagai month. Pada asalnya archive ni disusun dari yg lama ke yg baru. Skang kita nk tuka jadi dari yg baru ke yg lama. Simple je kod dia just gune javascript.

Apa yang berlaku ialah archive ni akan disimpan dalam array archives dan dipaparkan pada browser mengikut archive yg baru ke archive yg lama. Senang kan hehe :).

KAJIAN oleh Evans Data, syarikat penyelidikan pasaran teknologi maklumat dan komunikasi (ICT), mendapati faktor kos bukan penyebab utama mengapa perisian sumber terbuka (OSS) kini semakin popular di kalangan perusahaan kecil dan sederhana (PKS).

Ketua Pegawai Operasi Evans Data, John Andrews, berkata walaupun faktor kos yang rendah adalah penting, namun ia bukannya faktor utama bagi PKS memilih OSS, kerana ada beberapa perkara yang menjadi pertimbangan ketika membuat keputusan untuk menggunakan OSS.

“Antaranya mereka mahukan nilai bagi setiap wang yang dilaburkan untuk membeli dan menggunakan perisian. Mereka rela membayar bagi perkhidmatan dan sokongan teknikal berbanding membayar hanya semata-mata untuk perisian berkenaan,” katanya.

Berdasarkan tinjauan yang dijalankan mendapati PKS berpendapat kos perisian hanya sebahagian kecil daripada keseluruhan perbelanjaan ICT tetapi sebahagian besar daripada perbelanjaan ICT untuk kakitangan bukannya perisian.

Pemilihan OSS bukan saja membabitkan penggunaan sistem operasi semata-mata tetapi pengguna turut melihat kepada perkakasan yang dimanfaatkan, kestabilan dan juga prestasi. Ada yang tertarik kepada OSS kerana menawarkan kelebihan yang tidak dapat diberikan oleh perisian komersial.

Sementara itu, Malaysia perlu membangunkan kemampuannya dalam perisian sumber terbuka (OSS), termasuk mewujudkan industri dalam bidang berkenaan bagi memastikan kedaulatan negara tidak terancam oleh mereka yang hendak mengambil kesempatan terhadap kelemahan sesebuah negara, terutamanya dalam bidang teknologi maklumat dan komunikasi (ICT).

Ini kerana perisian yang ada di pasaran ketika ini tidak membolehkan mana-mana pakar komputer di negara ini ‘melihat’ kod sumber (source code) perisian berkenaan.

Komen: Biar betul mamat ni cakap. Aku rasa dah ada pakar kat negara kita ni yg boleh baca/interpret kod sumber perisian ni. Hmm... Sepatutnya ayat ni diperbetulkan supaya tidak memandang rendah pakar yang ada di negara kita ni.

Sebaliknya hanya pakar yang berkhidmat dengan syarikat yang mengeluarkan perisian berkenaan saja yang boleh berbuat demikian.

Menerusi cara ini, ia terdedah kepada manipulasi kuasa besar atau mereka yang mempunyai kepentingan dalam sesuatu perkara, terutama bagi mendapatkan rahsia dan maklumat sulit negara.

Dengan ini, mereka bebas untuk berbuat apa saja, termasuk memasukkan apa saja program yang mampu untuk mencuri maklumat sensitif kerajaan secara rahsia dan menghantar balik maklumat berkenaan kepada musuh negara terbabit.

Selain Malaysia, China juga sudah mengambil inisiatif bagi membangunkan sistem operasinya yang dikenali sebagai Red Flag menggunakan sistem perisian sumber terbuka sebagai asasnya. Secara tidak langsung, China sedang membangunkan modal insannya dalam industri ICT.

Perkara yang sama juga sedang berlaku di Korea Selatan, apabila kerajaannya melaksanakan projek OSS dengan membangunkan Sistem Maklumat Pendidikan (NEIS) bagi merangkaikan 10,000 sekolah.

Bagi projek perintis NEIS, sebanyak 190 sekolah di bandar raya Seoul terbabit menggunakan Linux versi Korea yang dikenali sebagai Buyeo.

Presiden Agensi Promosi IT Korea Selatan (KIPA), Jin Ko Hyun, berkata projek berkenaan sudah berjalan selama dua tahun dan maklumat yang disimpan atau terkumpul akan di hantar ke sekolah jika murid berpindah atau memasuki universiti.

“Fasa seterusnya ialah melaksanakan projek itu ke semua sekolah di seluruh negara. Langkah KIPA bertujuan membangunkan keupayaan tempatan dalam industri ICT serta memastikan keselamatan dan perbelanjaan dapat dijimatkan,” katanya.

Komen: Bagi aku kenyataan yg diberikan adalah betul di mana OSS bukan sahaja digunakan kerana murah tapi kerana tahap prestasi yang lebih baik berbanding perisian lain. Walaupun ada kalanya OSS meremehkan tapi dengan pemahaman dan latihan yang lebih akan dapat membolehkan kita menguasai perisian tersebut.

Windows Vista

Redmond (WA) - A brief video message published by Microsoft on Friday revealed the official name of Microsoft next consumer operating system: Longhorn will be called "Windows Vista". The first beta of the software is scheduled to be released on August 3.

Microsoft's next-gen operating system shed its codename early Friday when Microsoft posted a 68-second video message on its website that had the sole purpose of introducing the name of the final product: The software will be called "Windows Vista".
Microsoft associates the terms "clear", "confident" and "connected" with the new operating system, hinting to various new features of the software - including a new graphics engine, more multimedia capabilities, improved organization of information, more security, and easier to use networking features for various devices around the house.

The first beta version of the software is heading towards IT professionals and developers on August 3, according to Microsoft. The final product will be released in the Summer 2006 timeframe, which will be preceded by at least one release candidate (RC) and a second beta, which is rumored to become available sometime in November of this year.

According to Microsoft, the video message was taped at a recent briefing for the firm's global sales and marketing staff.

Hi again...
Kali ni aku nk cite sket pasal web yg aku tgk intersting. menang anugerah tu web nih tp dah lama la anugerah taun 2001 kot tak silap aku. Org yg wat web ni mmg kreatif dan inovatif: Omar AL Zabir namanya. kalo nk tgk site dia klik gamba kt bwh ni.

Rupe da mcm M$ Windows dah. Siap ade start button lagi :P. Yg bestnye bile start nk masuk page tu siap buat detection cam linux plak aku tgk. kreatif².
