Feist - “I Feel It All (Britt from Spoon Remix)”

Leslie Feist writes songs that lend themselves to remixing. So much so that there is an entire album of Feist remixes titled Open Season. One remix that does not appear on that album is the one the Britt Daniels of Spoon did of the Feist song “I Feel it All”.

The wonderful thing about this remix is that nothing is added to the song. If anything Daniels breaks the song down into its simplest form and gives us only what we need. He has taken out the signature guitar part that carries us through the original. Also gone are most of the background vocals and harmonies but you’ll barely notice because you’ll be too focused on the bad ass bass and drums.

For more Britt Daniels fun be sure to check out his version of Interpol’s “Slow Hands”.

I just became part of the Twitter Retweet beta (as shown here). It appears that “RT” will be replaced by a trusty Retweet icon. It doesn’t appear users will be able to annotate the message before Retweeting it if you click the Retweet button directly (but that doesn’t mean it won’t be added to the mix at some point).

It also appears you can turn Retweets on/off per user.

Looking forward to seeing this in action.

While they are at it, they should have an option to move the links out to an icon too - it’s not like that bit.ly link tells us anything.

Photo

My Top 5 Artists (Week Ending 2009-11-8)

My Top 5 Artists (Week Ending 2009-11-8):

The Top 20 Most Powerless People in the Art World

Here are the Top 5:

Everyone entirely unknown to Hans Ulrich Obrist – If the kingmaker isn’t on your cell phone, well, at least your mother is.

The guy in the bunny outfit who year after year protested in front of Gagosian’s 25th Street gallery — hey buddy, how’s the career?

Independent curators without trust funds – There’s a saying, “No trust, no love.”

Artists who can’t speak English, French, German, or Spanish. While the world is filled with approximately 6,800 languages, artwork must adhere to the linguistic realities of economics.

That man at all the openings who might be homeless. Wine at gallery openings may be the art world’s only form of social service to people outside their realm, but hey, it’s something.

Judging by the photo posted above, looks like the cartoonist at Artworld had the same idea we did :)
