Daily Inspiration: Crazy Hair Color.

Who else loves crazy colored hair? I've been dying my hair some crazy colors since I was young, about 10/11 years old. I clearly remember when I was younger I went to see "Raise your voice" with Hilary Duff (being an obsessed fan that I was, I saw every movie with her) and noticed the background actors at the music school having crazy colored hair and asking my mom if I could have my hair like that when I got older. That didn't take long though! When I was about 10 I convinced my mom to get me semi-permanent hair dye at Target and was overly excited when I got to dye my hair red (from dirty blonde.) Ever since then I've been obsessed with different hair colors.

Which leaves me to my original intention of this post, how do you feel about crazy colored hair? Or just dying your hair in general? Love it? Hate it? Or better yet, have you ever considered dying your hair a (non)crazy color, or have you already done so?

Review; Concrete Minerals.

Concrete Minerals is an etsy based shop, but also has it's own official website coming soon. They offer unique colors with even more unique names, and they have quickly become a favorite shop of mine.

Hearts:
This color is a true red. It appears more pink in the picture over the primer, but trust me, it's a pure red. For those of you who know how hard it is to find a good red, snag it!

Croma:

This is such a unique color. I've never seen an eyeshadow in this color. It's a pale lavender color, and with a light hand can be used as a highlight. Gorgeous for purple looks!

Lolita:
A muted taupe with a slight grey undertone. Really pretty.

Bang-Up:

Very bright shade of blue. High shimmer.

Shipping:

I received my package in about a week. Super duper fast shipping and great commincation as well. A+ here. :)

The colors choices are great to choose from. Whether you love bright bold colors, or more muted taupe colors, there is an option for everyone. I can't wait to order more!

Review: HiFi Cosmetics

Let me introduce you to HiFi Cosmetics. I stumbled across this brand on Etsy, and after remembering some reviews I had read a few months ago; I decided to give them a try and ordered some samples.

Buttercup:
Can you say wow? This is a true yellow, great for any collection.

Adrenaline:
A light/medium green with TONS of shimmer.

Lithium:
As a blue lover, I feel like I've seen this color before... but if you haven't, I'd definetely recommend it for your collection!

Disco:
A white that I absolutely adore. Most whites I encounter rarely show up on my skin/eyes, but this one is just right.

These eyeshadows have amazing staying power. If you apply them over Too Faced Gliter Glue there will be no fall out. I love it for bright bold looks, my personal favorite. :)

Shipping:
I placed my order on January 16th, 2011 and waited at least a month for the items to be shipped. She was in the middle of an unexpected move, so I can understand that; I was just disappointed I had to email and get an automatic response back (until she found my message in the spam folder.) I received them in a little more than a month.

Updates on HiFi Cosmetics:
All items have been taken out of her Etsy shop for the time being. They closed the store to catch up on filling and shipping previous orders, which will all be filled by February 25th. They will re-open soon.

For the small hiatus I took, I've been really busy with dance classes. Last week I traveled to Atlantic City to see Lady GaGa, and was gone that entire weekend.
Anyway, reviews/swatches of Hifi Cosmetics, Concrete Minerals, and even a giveaway will be posted today!

In the makeup community lately there has been a huge buzz about Inglot Cosmetics. Before this all happened, I went to Inglot in NYC after a concert and shopped real quick (15 mins before closing) for the first time at Inglot.

So far I only have one of their 10 eyeshadow freedom system palettes, but I was wondering... would anyone still be interested in pictures? Swatches? A review?

Yesterday I found out that Inglot has a store (new?) in Garden State Plaza - 45 minutes away from me, so you can be sure if I do actually post a review you'll be seeing more!

While searching for cosmetics on Etsy, I came across RockABettyBeauty. They have an awesome selection of colors to choose from. I saw that they had a reviewer special for bloggers and youtubers, and decided to try it out to report back to you guys along with a random eyeshadow I bought. And I have to say, I am really impressed.

I received 5 sample baggies to review. Right away I went to testing and swatching them, but unfortnately I wasn't able to post my review until now. Sorry for the delay!

Shrapnel is a mini lid luster (3g) that is a beautiful, unique, color. I've never seen anything like it. It was taken down from their shop. Here is a little notice I saw about a week after the item arrived.

*I have had a few customers let me know that they are having issues with our Lid Lusters that contain glitter. I have never had a problem with my glitter before and decided to contact my supplier about it. They had changed their cosmetic glitters and they are no longer labeled as eye safe, so I have pulled the glitter shades from my line until I can reformulate them with the appropriate .004 eye safe glitter. This only affects customers who ordered after November 2010 (when I replinished my glitter supply). I am truly sorry about this and I accept full responsiblity, as I should have confirmed the continuing safety of these glitters before I reordered. Glitter Lid Lusters will be back up and for sale again starting sometime in February 2011. Thank you for giving me a chance to make this right*

Due to this, I will not be using Shrapnel any longer. Here you can clearly see the big chunky glitter when applied with Too Faced Glitter Primer.

Pinup Pink is a gorgeous warm light shade of pink. It's good for a nice wash of color across the cheeks. Roe is a very unique color. I do not have anything like this in my makeup collection. It's a coral shade that depending on whether you apply it with a base/wet, is more orange or pink.

Needful Things is one of their best sellers, and I can see why. It's a soft blue with tons of shimmer. The site describes it as a shimmering teal, but it's far to blue to be a teal.

Toxic Waste is a light/medium green depending on how you apply it. I love the name of this one.
Membrane is a super shimery pale pink. It has a golden undertone to it.

Six Feet Under is more of a true brown, with a slight warm undertone to it.

Pinup Bronze was sent to me as a free sample. It's an all over natural complextion enhancer, and simply gorgeous.

What I thought was a cute and unique touch is that RockABettyBeauty sent me a little notepad that was titled "Wishlist." on it for my next order. That really stood out to me, I've never seen anyone do that before!

Brazen Cosmetics caught my eye on Etsy. They have a bunch of options to choose from for mineral eyeshadows, scents, lipsticks and even their own collections. They also have a weekly deals section which is a nice plus. I decided to place a small order on a clearance item, called Sugar and Glitter Solid Perfume Gumball for only $2.50

It's in a 10g gumball container. The feeling of the plastic container is a little cheap, and it's a little hard to get open if you don't have nails (there is a small insert when you can push open.) Other than that, I love it. The site describes it as "A fun youthful blend of bubblegum, sugar, vanilla and cotton candy in the cutest hinge-top gumball container ever! Totally girly! This is our take on Lush's "Rock Star"."

I have no idea what Lush's Rock Star smells like, but I can tell you that this smells more like a cherry italian ice to me. Sweet, cherry and vanilla. You only need a tiny bit and you'll have yourself smelling like it all day long. It contains beeswax, so it's not vegan; and also contains almond nut oil so those with allergies - be careful.

Shipping was super fast. I got my package in about 3-5 days. Brazen Cosmetics also included two samples in my order.

Premier Glitterati is a crimson red glitter gel that is eye safe. It's a nice color, but I wasn't impressed at the lack of pigment in it.

Hella Vanilla is one of their scents listed on the site. I personally love vanilla, but this one was more of a musky strong vanilla that I don't really like. I like my vanilla scents lighter, but if you like musky vanilla scents, this one is for you.

As you already may know, I'm obsessed with sweet/candy/food scented items. Anything that has to do with sugar, cotton candy, birthday cake, ect I instantly want it. That's the case when I came across Soapopotamus on Etsy. I was immediately welcomed by all these cute items like Doughnut soaps, chocolate bunny soaps, and everything else that is so adorable! As luck would have it, they had the most amazing thing (to me) that caught my attention.

Cotton Candy Clouds is a solid perfume. It comes in this cute container, that isn't small by any means. I was so excited to rip it out of it's box and smell it! Just one whiff and I was immediately hooked. You would think a cotton candy perfume would smell artificial, right? This wasn't the case with this perfume. It smells sweet, almost like real cotton candy with a hint of something else I can't quite put my finger on. It doesn't smell childish by all means! For only $5.00, I love it. I wish they would have it in an actual perfume though; the scent stays on long where I apply it, but I'd love to have more choices to spray it wherever I want.

Now, the next thing I bought was the Cotton Candy Clouds Bar Soap. It smells like the solid perfume, but with a more soapy smell (if you get what I mean.) I used it in the shower a few days after I bought it and I was a little disappointed in it. It smells great in the packaging, but when it gets wet in the shower it doesn't smell so strong; more of a subtle scent. While applied to your skin it smells like ordinary soap, I didn't smell the Cotton Candy at all. Also, the little cloud on the soap was mis-shapen. Either way, it left my skin super smooth and soft thanks to the goat milk. It's also $5.00 like the solid perfume.

Review: Fortune Cookie Soaps

Three Words. Cupcake Body Butter. Just that alone drove me over the edge to give in an order the brand new Body Butters that the company Fortune Cookie Soap was now offering. They are a brand new product to the company (which I already purchased from before), and that was what inspired this little review of mine.

I've bought from FCS before, all fortune cookie soaps. I still have all the soaps since I had lost them, but I'm not really excited about the scents anymore except for one - so I'll just review what I received this time around.

Cupcake Body Butter:
The website describes it as "This body butter is not only whipped to perfection but it is so sugary-sweet smelling that you will feel just like you are in a bakery and hey … that's where we studied how to make something smell so sweet."
This is one of the true Cupcake scented items I own. It smells just like walking into a bakery, like they claim. True vanilla and butter cream scented. So amazing! I love the formula too. Unlike other body butters I own, this one isn't as greasy/heavy as others. It goes on and sinks in like lotion and leaves my skin so soft.

Candy Addict Fortune Cookie Soap:
The website describes this soap as "Well – even if you can’t eat it, it will satisfy all of your candy addiction senses for you will fall absolutely head-over-freakin’-heels for this pink melon and sugar scent!"
This is the only soap I re-ordered from them. The others haven't impressed me that much, but this one I love. I actually couldn't think of the right candy to describe it and it was driving me absolutely insane until I saw the description - watermelon! Almost like the lollipops.

Pink Watermelon Gelato:
The website describes it as "You remember when you were a kid and given a slice of watermelon? The way you dug right in and had seeds dripping off of your chin? Well – that won’t happen here, but you can be transported right back to an easier time."
This scent is seriously STRONG. Really really strong. It smells exactly like Watermelon, a scent I'm not to particually fond of (articial types.) I received it as a sample and my 11 year old brother went crazy over it since he loves to take baths and the scent, so I let him use it after I took pictures of it (since he wouldn't stop begging.) I'm glad I received it as a sample, it smells so good!

I have become addicted to Etsy. And as most of you may know, I'm also addicted to anything that smells like you just walked into a bakery. Birthday Cake, Cotton Candy, Vanilla, Sugar, Cupcakes... you name it. Which is how I found A Joey Named Roo.

I decided to buy the Birthday Cake Whipped Body Body in 2 oz and Gimme Some Sugar, Cookie Lip Balm (vegan.)

Shipping:
I bought my items on January 19th, 2011 (wednesday) and received my package January 24th, 2011. It took 2 days to ship, so that makes shipping time (excluding Sunday) 4 days to arrive. I received the package in a mail in a small box, and everything was wrapped neatly inside. The items were sealed too, which is a plus.

Products:
The Birthday Cake whipped body butter was what I was most excited for. They described it as "Mmmmm. Cake. This scent is rich and decadent, resembling cake batter heavy on the vanilla." I was expecting a whole different scent, but I actually like what I received. You would think a birthday cake is vanilla (or at least I do) flavored and scented, but this wasn't the case with the lotion. It smells strongly of dark chocolate. Not that I mind, of course. The body butter itself was a very thing consistency, something I love about it. Overall, I like it, but not enough to wear it everyday.

Next is the Gimme Some Sugar, Cookie Lip Balm. I like that it's vegan, but that's about it. It's a nice lip balm - but I don't really care for the scent. It doesn't smell like a sugar cookie, and I can't put my nose on what it actually smells like. It smells...strong, whatever it is.

Overall, I would love to try out more of their products. Just because I don't like two scents doesn't mean I won't like the others!

Review: TFSI Glitter Glue.

For the Too Faced collection for Spring, they decided to come out with this little gem I found. I was looking around at Sephora when all of a sudden I came across this. Loving glitter and loose pigments, I just had to get this to give it a try.
And let me tell you... this can't get any more amazing.

Sephora describes it as "A glue specifically formulated to lock down eye glitter and enhance its reflective quality."

From what I see online I can tell people are confused about the product. It's exactly like the original Too Faced Shadow Insurance, but for metallics/glitters/pigments. It's essentially letting you skip the foiling process. The primer is clear, so you can put it on before applying a glitter/shadow OR you can apply shadow and then put the clear primer over your eyeshadow (it becomes tacky) and then apply glitter.

This stuff is amazing. Even with the $18 price tag, I still couldn't resist. It'll last year over a year. But if you want to stick to the foiling process - simple water/eye drops will do.

I think I'm addicted.

Sugarpill Swatches/Review

Today I'm bringing you swatches + a little review of Sugarpill. I had originally bought from them for the first time within the first two months of their store opening. Amy, the owner of Shrinkle, created the brand. She has amazing customer service. It ships really fast, and it even comes with Lisa Frank stickers and a personal message on your invoice! Not to mention, they have the cutest pink tissue paper and stamp on the front of the box. Adorable.

Now onto the actual products. I had bought the 4 color palette called Sweetheart. It was priced at $34.00 with $5.00 shipping.

I was soooo excited to try out my new makeup, that I immediately went to swatch them. They are amazingly pigmented! Look at the swatches with my bare fingers, no primer/base.

Now with a primer...

These apply so smoothly and pigmented, I love it. Though they do tend to stain your eyelids (especially Dollipop). Some may find that good, some may find it bad.

I absolutely love Beauty From The Earth. With their amazing selection of any kind of color you can imagine, there is something for everybody to love. Whether you like more neutral colors or even bright, you'll sure to find something you love. I heard about BFTE back in November 2009 on Youtube. I was interested and they had a Black Friday deal, so... I decided to order. It wasn't until about a month or two ago I started getting back into them again.

BFTE Alakazam:

The website describes it as "grey with purple undertones." At first, I wasn't impressed with the way it was swatched dry. It took me a few weeks to finally try it applying wet, and I have to say, wow! Look at the difference! I love how vibrant it is while applied wet.

BFTE Boutique Babe (Discontinued):

Sadly, this color was discontinued in 2009. It was free in my purchase because of a Black Friday deal. It's a gorgeous tan

color with pink undertones, and good for a sweep of color across your lids on days you're not feeling up to doing a crazy look.

BFTE Caribbean:
The website describes Caribbean as a "teal with shimmer." It's inbetween a light and medium teal, and it is also super bright. Great for teal lovers!

BFTE Chaos:
he website describes this color as a "warm coral peach/pink with gold/peach shimmer." This describes the color perfectly. Applied wet it has a more pinkish undertone than when applied dry.

BFTE Chapel Of Love (Glitter):
Chapel of love is a micro fined glitter that is approved for use around the eyes. It was the first glitter I bought from BFTE, and I just have to warn you... it IS messy. I even put tape inside to try and control the mess; but that didn't work. What glitter doesn't cause a mess? It is best to apply this glitter with a sticky base or BFTE Mix and Fix, like I did below in the wet version. You can see the difference on how it applies.

BFTE Chocolate:
The website describes this color as a "rich shimmering cocoa with copper shimmer." It's your basic run of the mill shimmering brown, and is an unblended pigment - which means it's a pure color that BFTE does not custom make.

BFTE Grape:
The website describes this color as a "shimmering medium purple with pink undertones." Grape is one of their best sellers and is also apart of the Rockin Rainbow collection. It definetely makes a difference to apply this color wet then dry. It is also an unblended pigment like Chocolate.

BFTE Isis:
The website describes this color as a "low shimmer blackened blood red, with red-bronze undertones." Isis is one of my favorites BFTE colors. When applied wet is transforms into this gorgeous dark red with bronze undertones, a huge difference from when it's applied dry. It is also an unblended pigment.

BFTE Jaded:
The website describes this color as an "Icy apple green with tons of silver sparkle." Some people may describe this as more of a greenish teal, at least I would. It is definetely one of the brighter colors in their collection!

BFTE Journey:
The website describes this color as a "frosy gray/green with high shimmer." It's gorgeous if you pair it with other greens of silvers.

BFTE Karma:
The website describes this color as a "shimmering red-violet with blue highlights. One of our BEST sellers!" And let me tell you, I can see why it's one of their best sellers. It's an amazing pink color. People often wonder whether to get Paris or Karma. Karma is more pink/purple while Paris is more pink/red.

BFTE Lavish:
The website describes this color as a "green-yellow with medium sheen." At certain times when the light hits it, you can see the yellow coming out. I prefer it wet to dry.

BFTE Lemon:
The website describes this color as a "Bright clean shimmery yellow, not to cool, not to warm, perfectly balanced yellow." It's one of their best sellers. It's also bright when applied dry rather than wet, which is a plus.

BFTE Limeade:
Currently there is no description on the BFTE website. I would describe it as a light shimmering green with silver sparkles. It's a gorgeous color.

BFTE Paris:
Currently the website has no description for Paris. I would describe this color as a medium pink with red undertones. High sparkle.

BFTE Peacock:
The website describes this color as a "shimmering bright turquoise with golden green shimmer." If you're a teal lover, this color is a MUST have!

BFTE Pixie:
Pixie was sent to me in a grab bag deal. I've searched the site for the color, but cannot find it. It's a gorgeous light purple/lavender color.

BFTE Queen Of Hearts (Glitter):
This is one of your basic red glitters, approved for being eye safe. You need to apply it wet (applied with BFTE Mix and Fix below) for best results.

BFTE Spellbound:
This color is from the Fall 2009 collection. It is described as a "Dark shimmery blue between royal and navy blue." It's gorgeous for a colored smokey eye.

BFTE Tickle Me:
The website describes this color as a "deep low shimmer teal." Let me say, I prefer this one over Peacock and Caribbean. It's so bright and beautiful, I love it.

BFTE Tropical:
The website describes this color as a "nearly matte true jungle green with a surprising blue undertone." I love the finish on this one. You can clearly see the blue undertone while applied wet, not so much when dry.

Wow, everyone! I haven't been able to post or film videos for awhile. My life has been extremely hectic, and I apologize for that! Hopefully I'll be able to get swatches and more videos up soon, I promise! I know most of you have been asking for them.
