The weekend of November 26th and 27th we attended the Miss Minnesota and Miss Minnesota Teen Pageant to cheer on our friend and most amazing actress/model Libby Rose!  She rocked the pageant and was one of the semi-finalist in the Teen Pageant.  Way to go Libby!

During the two days we took a series of images to commemorate the occasion.

We know Libby will be hugely successful in anything she does in the future and we were sure to get her autograph so we can frame it and hang it on the wall!

On Wednesday November 16th, Dominic James was born.  He weighed in at 8 pounds, and was 20.5 inches tall!  Everyone is doing well and savoring this incredibly joyous moment I their lives.

Look out Dominic, your mommy loves the camera and soon we will be there to start your modeling career…

So, like any other good photographer, I ,are sure I got plenty of funny faces during or time together. This particular one makes me think she is sick of my antics and just wants to kick my ass. I played around with it a bit in Lightroom to give it that gritty look and make it something worthy of posting for her.

Shooting this series made me realize just how many of lives moments go by that could be marked by a photoshoot. I wonder if I should start marketing to Orthodontists for a before and after series of their patients?

This batch has been falling all day and has produced enough volume to cover us in our first white blanket of the season.  Time to snuggle in for winter and start planning some exiting winter shoots!

It seems like only yesterday we were celebrating the birth of our own sons and now they are adults fording full steam into their own lives.  I image that is why the precious memories of life become sweeter as the years pass bye.  Among those memories are the photographs which become part of our family legacy, our heritage, our heirlooms to the following generations.

Why all gooshy and sentimental?  It is all stemming from a recent shoot we had with little Soleia.  She is only one years old, but it was our fourth time helping to record those lifetime memories with her and her mommy Bonnie.  The first two were wonderful maternity shoots recording the process of body change for Bonnie, then next little Solelia was just 14 days old, and most recently celebrating her one year birthday.

Ah, when you are a youngster you don’t realize how fast time is actually speeding by, but once you start recording the precious moments in time the speed signs will become apparent as well as the meaning behind retaining them!

We are thinking about adding the option of having a belly casting done for our maternity clients while they are in the studio with us.  We are looking for an expecting mother who is willing to be our guinea pig for us to try this process out, see how long it takes, how messy it is and help us ultimately decide on making this an offer or not.  If your spouse/partner would like to participate in this process that is ok as well, as long as they are ok getting a bit messy with us.  We are looking to do a cast from the top of the chest to the top of the thighs.  After it has hardened we will take the casting with us for painting.  You can help us determine how you would like your belly cast painting to be designed.

You need to be comfortable with us taking pictures/video of the process for use on our website and marketing materials.  We would also like to use the casting as a prop for a photoshoot with the newborn in the first couple weeks after birth.  Please contact us by calling 763.350.4237 or by using the online booking form if you are interested in being our test subject!

Most of us know someone who is affected by cancer.  From the day you hear the word “Cancer” it can be frightening and defeating.  It is a moment in time when you cling to family and friends for their support and comfort.  For the lucky ones who beat the disease, the closeness forged during that time can last for a lifetime.

This photoshoot was a tribute from our model Janine to her mother LouAnn, who is herself a Breast cancer survivor.  Both mother and daughter were present at the shoot and joined in the collaboration to create the series of Breast Cancer images in our support of October, Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Checking the stats at the end of October, this image had the highest views of any other image on our website.  A fitting salute to Janine for wanting to put together this shoot dedicated to her mom.  To check out all of the images created during this shoot we have created a Breast Cancer Awareness 2011 gallery.
