I didn’t quite finish all the Verve Spring Fling challenges I wanted to participate in this weekend, because a wonderful thing happened to me on Saturday night: Beth Silaika aka MyPrecious picked me to be Featured Stamper #161 on SCS! I was too excited to stamp all weekend, not to mention trying to comment on every card in the FS161 gallery while the server was having some issues.

Tonight I managed to make a quick card for Verve’s Clean and Simple Flower challenge. I stamped images from the Love’s Flower set in Soft Suede ink on Dusty Durango card stock and punched them out with a circle punch. ‘Hello Sunshine’ was white embossed (and yes, we saw plenty of sun today!). The layout I used is Fall-to Layout 81 from the clean & simple stamping blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

I also colored the white half pearls with my E02 Copic marker to match the Groovy Guava ink.

That’s what happened to this framed anniversary sentiment that I created with two stamp sets from Verve Stamps. It wasn’t until I saw the Mojo Monday 128 layout that I figured out what I wanted to do with it.

My card is only 5-1/4″ wide to match up better with the scallop trim border of the Basic Grey designer paper. I punched 10 small hearts out of Lipstick Red card stock and adhered them above and below the vanilla ribbon with Scor-Tape (the awesome adhesive). Two little mini heart brads finish off the card and the ribbon.

Two new babies have been born into the family back in Belgium, and I have been meaning to send cards to my cousins. This will be the first one to go in the mail!

I used the new Oh, Baby! stamp set by Rupa Shevde and (my new favorite) the Lovely Labels set by Nina Brackett. I downloaded a wonderful free digital paper pack called 100% Sweet from the StampTV Freebies page and printed one of the papers onto Georgia Pacific White card stock for the background of my card.

I didn’t feel like coloring tonight, so I stamped the teddy bear on pink card stock and cut it out. The green background was sponged with Glorious Green ink and the bow was created with the help of the Bow-Easy.

I used today’s Sketch Challenge on SCS (SC270), which is a great one for using up little scraps of patterned paper. For embellishments, I added a trio of buttons to the right bottom corner.

Before you go thinking that I came up with this cool medallion look (created with the Lattice Bigz Die), please check out Kay Kalthoff’s fabulous Fancy Irish Tote! I just had to CASE her idea for the shoebox swap I’m attending in Laurel, MD today. The color combination I came up with was influenced by the vast amount of Not Quite Navy brads in my stash. Since the swap is SUO (Stampin’ Up! only) and has 31 participants, it matters a great deal to have enough identical embellishments for your design.

I’m quite thrilled with my new Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder; it works great for entire 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ card fronts! And the clear mounted stamps that SU! has come out with are very nice (including their packaging). No longer a demonstrator, but still a fan!

Thanks for stopping by!

I found an interesting sketch on StampTV and made a quick card with it.
I found an interesting sketch on StampTV and made a quick card with it. The image was stamped with Memento black ink and cut out with a Nestabilities die, then colored with Copic markers and two Stampin’ Up! markers (because I didn’t have all the colors I needed in my small Copic marker collection). I was inspired by the colors in the Nouveau Chic papers: Apricot Appeal, Sage Shadow, and Basic Gray. I sponged Apricot Appeal ink around the image and sentiment while the paper was still sitting inside the die.

The Inspiration Mosaic background was stamped directly onto Wings of Hope digital paper, printed on Georgia Pacific card stock from Wal-Mart. I also stamped it on Pure Luxury white card stock for the two sections that I cut out. The swirls on the DP reminded me of the Baroque Motifs image, which I stamped with Orchid Opulence ink around the sentiment.
