Psalm 116:9
I will walk before the LORD in the land of the living.

Do you ever talk "out loud" to yourself? Today's verse makes a
declarative statement! It's like the Psalmist is making a declaration
of his FAITH! When a person talks about "their walk," it is referring
to how they live their life. Some live their lives always thinking
about what people will think about them. The Psalmist declares that
he is living his life thinking about God's opinion of him! What about
you? You may need to "talk out loud" and make a declaration of your
FAITH to God! He wants to WALK with you today!

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and
through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest
through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame
kindle upon thee.

This is a very interesting verse, given by God to encourage you
today. Someone said that this particular verse covers most of the
things that will happen in life of a believer. Your life is made up
of waters, rivers, fires, and flames. They are pictured as
afflictions, temptations, persecutions, and trials. The best part of
this verse is the fact that God promises to be with you in all. He
not only is with you, but He has made a path through the water,
through the river, through the fire, and through the flame. You need
not be overcome by any of these, because God will lead you through
them, if you will WALK by FAITH!

Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart

"For a man to walk in pride, is something more than to be proud: it
says, that pride is his way, his element; that he is wholly under the
influence of it.” --William Jay.
Nobody likes to admit they are prideful. Pride starts off as being a
motivator for a good work ethic, and before you know it, it becomes a
source of emotional stimulus. Often we are blinded to our pride, but
pride shows itself in the person who thinks they know it all. God
humbled David on several occasions, and he declares that he
continually needed to be taught God's truth, and needed God's help to
live! Do you see yourself needing God? He wants to teach you as you
walk through life today!

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and
glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk
uprightly.

What an awesome verse! The Lord God is a sun and shield for every
believer! He is a sun that "warms you," that "gives light to your
path," and He is also a shield that "protects you" from harm. God
leads, comforts, and protects the believer. The sun is above you,
giving warmth and guidance. The shield of FAITH is around you,
providing God's grace and glory for every obstacle in your path. The
Lord has blessed you today with His presence as you are walking the
paths of this world. Reflect upon the "sun" and "shield" and the many
other blessings the heavenly Father gives you, and walk in His
righteousness!

Psalm 26:11
But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be
merciful unto me.

The first verse in this Psalm (26:1) gives us a little
understanding of what David means when he refers to integrity.
According to that verse, you could substitute the word "faith" for
integrity. In today's verse David is saying that he, personally,
purposes to "walk in faith," and he needs God's mercy and redemption
to be able to do that. It's not a "solo walk!" FAITH in GOD is a
partnership! Remember this as you are "walking" from one place to
another throughout your day. God is walking with YOU!
