Encore ce matin je le vois sauvegarder des centaines de gagas.</p> <p>La vue Timemachine permet de naviguer dans le système de fichier au travers du temps. En y regardant de plus près ce qu'on peut voir c'est que les fichiers sont bien présent dans la dernière sauvegarde, voir dans les précédentes. Cette constatation est déjà un bon point mais en aucun cas permet de savoir ce qui est réellement sauvegardé dans chacune des sessions. La vue du finder directement permet de voir l'ensemble du système de fichier et de constater là aussi que nos dossier et fichiers sont présents. Timemachine ajoutant des liens symboliques, il est totalement impossible de voir quel est l'incrément sauvegardé lors de la dernière session. L'affichage est finalement assez peu pratique j'ai continué à chercher....</p> <p><strong>Timetracker</strong> qu'on peut trouver sur le site de son développeur <a href="http://www.charlessoft.com/">http://www.charlessoft.com/</a> permet de descendre visuellement dans la hiérarchie du volume Timemachine dont il restreint l'affichage aux éléments effectivement sauvegardés. J'ai pu constaté que les deux applications qui me généraient des sauvegardent récurrentes étaient bien Evernote et le client de messagerie Sparrow. J'ai toujours tendance à dire que LeWeb est un peu notre salon de l'agriculture et en même temps notre festival de Cannes. Au final cette édition n'a pas dérogé à la règle, en proposant l'opportunité unique  d'avoir ceux qui font le web à portée de main, et de les entendre. Beaucoup sont très accessibles, et vous consacrent du temps pour vous donner de bons conseils, alors que d'autres cultivent leur côté sectaire. Bien souvent ces derniers font partie de ceux qui ont eu un grand coup d'éclat il y a quelques années et qui ne sont plus allé au feu depuis bien longtemps. C'est aussi ça LeWeb, des acteurs très pragmatiques qui côtoient un showbiz plus superficiel.</p> <p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"> </p> <p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">J'étais venu il y a deux ans en 2009 en spectateur complet, n'ayant pas de projets précis. Déjà à l'époque, j'avais perçu une dynamique forte, et j'étais reparti inspiré,  avec l'envie de revenir un jour plus impliqué. Cette année, le débat était tout autre, le lancement d'Affini-Tech ma nouvelle société de conseil me donnait l'occasion de rencontrer mes pairs pour en parler.</p> <p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"> </p> <p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">LeWeb est une formidable machine pour networker, et j'ai passé le plus clair de mon temps à rencontrer des gens, à échanger sur mes projets. Pour être très francs je ne me suis pas assis un instant dans une salle de conférence. Certes, comparé au prix des conférences similaires aux US c'est excessif, mais en prenant sa place dans les premiers, on bénéficie d'un prix "early bird" qui est plus raisonnable. Pendant ces trois jours, j'ai pu rencontrer des dizaines de personnes à qui j'ai présenté mes services. Si j'avais du payer une agence pour me prendre tous ces rendez-vous le coût aurait vraisemblablement été plus élevé.</p> <p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"> </p> <p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;">Je reviendrai plus tard dans le détail des rencontres que j'ai pu faire et de ce que j'ai pu en tirer. Ce reportage diffusé sur Canal + permet de comprendre les différentes transformations de l'économie mondiale qui ont engendré un tel mastodonte. Un interviewé va même plus loin et compare GS à la créature du docteur Frankenstein qui échappe totalement à son contrôle. Les ramifications de GS et les collusions avec le pouvoir sont telles que la banque échappe aujourd'hui à tout contrôle, voir même contrôle aujourd'hui la politique des états. Ses appuis chez les médias et dans la politique permettent d'orchestrer les pires campagnes de destruction de la valeur d'un état pour en tirer parti. Mario Draghi le président de la BCE a été VP Europe de GS, ce qui en dit long sur la neutralité la politique économique Européenne à venir. Les partners chez GS sont incités à prendre leur retraite le plutôt possible pour se recaser dans les différents circuits du pouvoir. L'absence totale de structure de contrôle des banques fait qu'une impunité totale s'est installée. Très peu d'acteurs ont été jugés au pénal, les amendes infligées par les tribunaux civils s'élèvent tout au plus à quelques centaines de millions de dollars. Cette impunité est évidement criminogène, et incite les "prodiges" de GS à faire preuve de toujours plus d'audace et de cupidité.</p> <p>Le plus choquant de ce reportage c'est que toute cette machine spéculative infernale fait l'essentiel de ses dégats dans les classes basses et moyennes de la population mondiale. Les petits épargnants ont perdu 7000 Md$ de dollars depuis le début de la crise. GS est en mesure de conseiller un produit à des clients et de parier en même temps sur l'effondrement de cet instrument financier. Dans le même temps les salaires des dirigeants de GS ont été multipliés par 3. L'object de cette recherche était de mettre un maximum de coeurs dans un seul chip. C'est le coeur du Pentium 5 qui a été choisi, et la performance exceptionnelle, c'est que l'enveloppe de puissance ne dépasse pas les 75 watts. Cette plateforme va être distribuée à des universités et des industriels pour qu'ils puissent imaginer les usages et applications d'une telle plateforme. Je vais pas en remettre une couche sur les déferlement de "fanboyisme" auxquels on a eu le droit. Même si cet événement était très largement prévisible au vu de la dégradation récente de son état de santé, il est certain que ça a été un choc, et qu'il y a aujourd'hui un vide qui s'est fait. Et c'est dans ces moments là qu'on mesure à quel point un individu a pu infléchir la trajectoire de toute une industrie.</span></p> <p style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;">D'abord pour commencer, au sujet d'Apple, et de ce qu'elle va devenir sans son gourou ? Il est peut être un peu trop tôt pour juger de ceux qui prennent la relêve. Certainement que le positionnement de l'entreprise pour les 3 à 4 ans à venir est déjà entériné avec la patte du maître donc pas d'inquiétudes immédiates à avoir de ce coté là. Après, c'est finalement très lointain, et l'industrie a le temps de changer, et Apple aussi, mais peut être plsu avec un temps d'avance.</p> <p style="font-family: arial;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">Maintenant en ce qui concerne l'homme : génie, pas génie ? En revenant vers les mac j'ai découvert grâce aux produit Apple un confort d'utilisation que je n'avais pas eu pendant mes nombreuses année de PCiste. Si l'un des objectifs que SJ avait était de faire que l'utilisation soit simple et sans question alors c'est réussit, "it simply works", sans se poser de questions. Si ce doit se faire au prix d'un système propriétaire, alors je suis prêt à cette concession pour voir ma productivité augmentée. Dans mes pérégrinations professionnelles, j'ai bien souvent vue de merveilleuses technologies péricliter pour l'une de ces deux raisons, trop loin des préoccupations des acheteurs, ou insuffisamment bien marketées. Steve Jobs a  eu comme obsessions de ne jamais sombrer dans l'un de ses deux travers, surtout depuis son retour chez apple. En ce qui concerne son apport au monde du business je vous conseille la lecture de ce <a href="https://plus.google.com/112374836634096795698/posts/8cfpr9k5v6t">post</a> de Guy Kawasaki sur Google+ ou il souligne une douzaine de points marquants.</span></p> <p style="font-family: arial;"><span style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">En ce qui concerne l'attitude générale à avoir vis à vis de l'existence et de la combativité, je ne peux m'empêcher de penser au "stay foolish stay hungry" de son <a href="http://news.stanford.edu/news/2005/june15/jobs-061505.html">discours à Stanford en 2005</a>. Cette séquence a été prise au moment ou la brume se dissipe en fin de matinée.  600 images prises au 70mm f/10 au 1/125 de seconde à ISO200 ont été nécessaires. http://vhe74.com/59401957 <p> <p>J'ai eu l'immense plaisir de participer Lundi 27 Juin à la journée Cloud organisée par Techtoc.tv. Julien Senechal m'avait invité à participer à 2 plateaux sur le Cloud et la virtualisation des postes de travail. Cette journée à été l'occasion de croiser des professionnels passionnés par ce vaste sujet, et de dialoguer ensemble lors de plateaux animés de main de maître par Fabrice Frossard. </p> <p>Quand on arrive chez Techtoc.tv, ce qui frappe c'est le professionnalisme et le coté abordable de toute l'équipe qui sait vous mettre à l'aise avant de se lancer dans cet exercice quelque peu intimidant. Dans le studio les tournages s'enchainent et pendant ce temps les discussions vont bon train confortablement installés dans lounge. J'ai eu l'occasion d'y parler longuement avec Patrick Barrabé, François Aubriot, Eric Herschkorn (Sogeti), Quentin Adam, et David Larose. </p> <p>Je vous invite à regarder ci-dessous le premier plateau, sur le thème de la révolution amenée par le Cloud Computing, le débat quoique consensuel a été très constructif, et a permis de vraiment vulgariser ce phénomène. L'intérêt de cet environnement et ce qui fait qui va falloir surveiller cette offre de près réside en plusieurs points. </p> <div><ol> <li>VMWARE est l'acteur de référence de la virtualisation, et pour avoir assisté à plusieurs présentations plus aou moins techniques de leur stratégie, le moins que l'on puisse dire c'est qu'ils ont envie de sortir du monde de l'infrastructure pure. Ils ont racheté ces dernières années nombre de société afin de construire une offre Cloud généralisée allant de l'IaaS (leur position historique), au SaaS (typiquement la messagerie ZIMBRA), en passant par le PaaS avec le rachat de plusieurs acteurs du développement logiciel (Springsource, etc...). Et c'est dans ce dernier pan de leur stratégie que s'inscrit Cloud Foundry.<p /></li> <li>Des outils d'administration ultra simples, mais donnant accès à tous les paramètres d'exécution de vos applications dans le Cloud. Cette vidéo est l'occasion pour lui de faire une présentation relativement exhaustive de Hadoop, de Map Reduce et de ce que Cloudera fait autour de cette technologie. </p> <p>Le design de cette infrastructure est venue du besoin des géants de l'internet d'indexer le web. Face à ce défi les technologies classiques de bases de données ont très vite été dépassées. Hadoop se démarque facilement des grands SGDBR, car ceux-ci sont foncièrement inadaptés pour gérer des données non structurées. Les tables sont idéales pour faire des requêtes prévisibles sur des données tabulaires. Pour des raisons économiques, les données ont été réparties sur de petits serveurs standard disposant de quelques disques locaux, agrégés entre eux par une solution logicielle. Et pour traiter ces données, les algorithmes mis en oeuvre ont tiré parti de la CPU propre à chaque serveur. C'est ainsi que le systeme de fichiers HDFS  (Hadoop Distributed File System) et Map / Reduce sont nés. En 2004 Google a écrit une première <a href="http://labs.google.com/papers/mapreduce.html">publication</a> sur MapReduce qui fixa les grandes lignes de cette nouvelle manière de traiter les grands volumes de données.</p> <p>Cette approche de traitement des données a aujourd'hui comme effet de remettre les programmeurs et les ingénieurs systèmes ensembles pour réfléchir à la meilleure manière de stocker les données. Cette souplesse permet de créer une technologie adaptée à un problème plutôt que d'adapter le problème à la technologie comme on le faisait avant.</p> <p><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/S9xnYBVqLws" frameborder="0" height="349" width="560"></iframe></p> <p>Cloudera a construit son business sur une <a href="http://www.cloudera.com/products-services/">offre</a> de support et de distribution packagée des outils Hadoop. Pour développer une réelle valeur autour de cet écosystème, ils ont recrutés de nombreux ingénieurs qui étaient aux origines du produit. Dans cet intervention lors du startup week-end de Nice Sophia-Antipolis, il aborde tant pourquoi entreprendre, que la manière de vivre les premiers pas de votre entreprise. Je vous invite à le rejoindre sur son <a href="http://www.pocarles.com/">blog</a>, il a des avis très tranchés sur l'entrepreunariat, et bien d'autres sujets. </p> <p>Très souvent deux raisons nous empêchent d'entreprendre : la peur du risque, et la peur de l'échec. Le risque est à relativiser par rapport aux vrais risques de  la vie. Si le risque c'est celui de perdre son job, il est beaucoup plus fort en étant salarié, parce que vous n'aurez dans ce cas aucun levier d'action sur ce risque. Interrogez les ex salariés de grandes multinationales qui se sont vautrées avec pertes et fracas, et vous verrez que leurs visions de cet aspect des choses a grandement évolué. En ce qui concerne l'échec, c'est uniquement un problème d'égo ! Vous serez confrontés au regard des autres en cas d'échec, mais ne vous inquiétez pas votre entourage proche ne vous ferra pas de reproches, ils vous aimera comme avant. Si vous parvenez à faire sauter ces deux verrous, vous êtes prêt pour l'aventure.</p> <p>La notion de réussite est quelque chose d'infiniment subjectif, et qui doit être abordé avec prudence. Si pour vous la réussite c'est d'être le prochain Google ou Groupon, avec des niveaux de valorisation démentiels, alors vous avez de grandes chances d'être déçus. Si par contre vous souhaitez vivre confortablement et faire vivre des collaborateurs dans cette aventure, alors c'est beaucoup plus abordable. Il faut comme dans toutes les situations se fixer des niveaux d'objectifs raisonnablement atteignables. Et dans ces objectifs n'oubliez pas votre entourage, vous aurez besoin d'un support quotidien pour tenir le cap, et pouvoir mettre toute votre énergie au profit de votre entreprise.</p> <p>Dans la seconde partie Pierre-Olivier aborde plus le coté opérationnel du démarrage de votre entreprise. Il favorise le "bootstrapping" qui consiste à démarrer avec des moyens limités plutôt que de commencer par chercher à lever des fonds. Il vaut mieux envisager une levée de fonds dans un second temps afin d'accélérer une entreprise déjà en marche, plutôt que d'en faire un préalable. Cette approche frugale, vous donnera d'autant plus de crédibilité quand il s'agira de convaincre un investisseur, parce que vous aurez très largement dépassé le concept et les slides. Ne pas avoir d'argent oblige à se focusser sur l'essentiel que sont votre produit et vos clients.
