It was a little over a month ago that a clip from a track simply called "Gecko" appeared on the Musical Freedom Soundcloud page. There was no artist mentioned or any further information provided. The underground soon caught fire with this mysterious tech house groove and artists including Tiësto, Hardwell, David Guetta, Zedd, Martin Garrix and Example started fully supporting it.
The buzz is deafening with "Gecko" reaching #1 on the DMC Buzz Chart and we're pulling back the curtain to reveal emerging talent Oliver Heldens as the producer behind one of the hottest tracks in the world. Release date: December 30th.

"Instant Crush" was based on a demo that Daft Punk presented to Julian Casablancas; he became enthused upon hearing it and provided vocals. The song contains rock influences and a guitar solo. Critic John Balfe considered it "appropriately Strokes-ish, even if [Casablancas'] trademark drawl is fed quite substantially through a vocoder." De Homem-Christo noted, "It is true that it is not his usual register, it is the way Julian reacted to the track so for us it is even more exciting."

Shazam revealed EDM Chart 2013, Avicii announced as the most Shazamed electronic artist

Shazam has released its figures for the highest ranking artists and songs of this year, alongside its annual predictions of artists that it expects will break during the coming year, with Avicii adding a number of accolades to an already extensive list of impressive firsts in 2013.

Amassing a huge 26.5 million Shazams globally over the course of this year, Avicii is the most Shazamed electronic artist in the world in 2013 and the second most Shazamed artist overall. This ranks him above the likes of Rihanna, Daft Punk and Justin Timberlake, who all feature in the Top 10.

'Wake Me Up!', the first single to be taken from his debut album 'True', ranks as the second most Shazamed song in the world after 'Blurred Lines' with 14.7 million Shazams, ranking #1 in the UK and #2 in Australia, Italy and Spain as well as #4 in the US.
Avicii is set to release his latest single 'Hey Brother' on 23rd December, which he will follow by embarking on an extensive series of 'True Tour' dates at the start of 2014.

2013 Top Shazamed Songs Worldwide:

2013 will be best known as the year Robin Thicke’s dance track “Blurred Lines” became the soundtrack of the summer and newcomer, Lorde, stormed the charts worldwide with her debut track, “Royals.” But they can’t touch Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who owned 2013 with three successive hits “Thrift Shop”, “Can’t Hold Us” and “Same Love.”

An accompanying music video for "Wrecking Ball" was released on September 9, 2013. It featured close-up scenes of Cyrus tearfully singing, reminiscent of the clip for "Nothing Compares 2 U" by Sinéad O'Connor, interspersed with footage of a nude Cyrus swinging on a wrecking ball. Critics were divided in their opinions of the music video; some appreciated its diversity from Cyrus' previous single "We Can't Stop", while others felt it was more provocative than its predecessor.

Newcastle’s Felix Leiter returns with a club smash... Flipping the title to the more simple ‘Paradise’ the track is indeed a monster of truly eu-phoric proportions; the sort or record that has end of set written all over it. When the crowds call for ‘one more tune’, expect this to be the ‘go to’ for quite a few of the planet’s professional DJ population over the coming months. Even if we do say so ourselves, it’s a bit special, which Felix had more than an inkling of in recent road tests. “I played it to over 5000 at the Mint Festival and the roof nearly came off the tent!,” he says, “I know paradise is different things to different people, but standing there and seeing that reaction from such a massive crowd came fittingly close for me!”
Enter Penny Foster, a brilliant vocalist who Felix has worked with before. “The key to get-ting the track right was the vocals and I knew Penny would be perfect,” Felix continues, “I needed someone with an exceptional voice to carry this off and do it justice and Penny re-ally stepped up.”
One of dance music’s greatest strengths is the sheer volume of material out there. Jump on sites like Beatport or iTunes and hundreds, if not thousands, of new tracks go live every week. Some are, of course, very good and some very bad, yet there’s no denying the vol-ume of choice. But there aren’t that many bonafide classics, tracks that transcend a period in time and attain truly legendary status; these are few and far between. One such tune that qualifies for such an accolade is 2000’s ‘Finally’ by Kings of Tomorrow, although it’s hard to believe it’s 13 years old, which is why Newcastle’s Felix Leiter has decided to re-record and re-title it with a modern day take and is now set to captivate and bewitch a whole new generation of clubbers. “I wanted to re-imagine it for the modern dancefloors I’m playing to,” explains Felix, “To inject my own harder, melodic edge and bring it bang up to date.”

Started with the idea to collaborate on a project that would unite people from all over the world in one single place. Tomorrowland, Arne Quinze and the Province Antwerp teamed up to create a unique piece of art and monumental project, one that has never been seen before .
The concept kept growing over the years and the ambition arose to create something really extraordinary. It was soon clear that the bar would be set very high.

The importance of creating a positive statement with a global scope then became the driving force behind all elements of this project. The goal was set to succeed in setting up a strong new platform that would reach out to the world. Offering the opportunity to a conscious movement of people to join their willpower and halo a positive and united message to the world.
A place had to be created where all participants could unite both physically and virtually and eternalize their messages. A peaceful environment to be enjoyed by bikers, people talking a walk and basically anyone on a daily basis. A tool to fuel the strength of a positive group of people, representing ' Unity '.

A project open to anyone in the world wanting to proclaim the positive message ' to unite ‘, will be setup in the form factor of an architectural art foundation. With a strong online and application driven structure as a backbone. A funding of + 120000 people and there individual message will be literally bridging a path of 450 meters long and 30 meters high. A physical construction, built out of thousands wooden slates, all engraved with unique and positive quotes by its participants will be shaped by the hand of Arne Quinze into a architectural art construction. An installation primarily constructed out of metal, wood and glass, built in the parc “Provincial Domein De Schorre of Boom”, the heimat of Tomorrowland, with a central Art Piece in line with Arne Quinze's ‘ Natural Chaos ’ concept, acting as a hub for bringing together the 3 different paths made of wooden messages.
Arne Quinze, well-known for his active, ongoing campaign to reactivate cities and societies through art, wants to create attractive cities that benefit from being confronted with works of art. Providing people with a framework to rediscover their environment and neighbours.
