Phew, that t-shirt competition we started in November ran to nearly two hundred entries. But it’s finally all over, and the winner is: Luke Robson! Luke’s obsessed with covering his t-shirts in brains: Bleeding minotaur brains, brains in skulls, zombie brains, etc. which makes for some great hand painted shirts.

Most womenswear blogs are suffocatingly twee love letters to cupcakes and burlesque, but Is Mental is better than that. It’s more worried about German nude-dresses, why beetles are fashionable this season, and shoes with Google Earth prints. It’s run by Amanda Ford who, when not running her blog, or her blog’s online store Is Mental Mart, is a graphic designer at Victoria’s Secret, making pictures of beautiful women in their underwear look even better. At the end of last year I visited Stone Island’s HQ in Modena Italy, to see the world’s most advanced jackets being made. While I was there I interviewed the company’s owner Carlo Rivetti. Carlo is one of those guys you wouldn’t mind being when you’re old; he’s wise, generous, definitely his own boss and the people who work for him all love him.

The Topman sponsored MAN is the biggest show on London Fashion Week’s Man Day. It’s when three newish labels get to show what they’ve got. The neon under lit mobility-scooter with it’s specially tailored rain cover is part of New Power Studio’s first show. Favourites of Lady Gaga’s stylist Nicola Formichetti, the leather gimp and spike loving duo Jaiden rVa James and Katie Eary also showed.
