Of all the precious metals, gold is the most popular as an investment. Investors generally buy gold as a hedge or safe haven against any economic, political, social, or fiat currency crises (including investment market declines, burgeoning national debt, currency failure, inflation, war and social unrest). The gold market is also subject to speculation as other commodities are, especially through the use of futures contracts and derivatives. In March 2008, the price of Gold exceeded US$1,000, achieving a nominal high of US$1,004.38. In real terms, actual value was still well below the US$599 peak in 1981 (equivalent to $1417 in U.S. 2008 dollar value). After the March 2008 spike, gold prices declined to a low of US$712.30 per ounce in November. Pricing soon resumed on upward momentum by temporarily breaking the US$1000 barrier again in late February 2009 but regressed moderately later in the quarter. After fluctuation returned near the US$1,000.00 mark in mid-September 2009, Gold Price peaked at US$1,023.30. Pricing later declined moderately again in late September 2009, falling back to US$991.70 for the week ending on September 25, 2009. Gold Prices Later in 2009, the March 2008 intra-day spot price record of US$1,033.90 was broken several times in October, as the price of gold entered parabolic stages of successively new highs when a spike reversal to $1226 initiated a retrace of the price to the mid-October levels.On June 17, 2010, Gold closed at a new nominal high of $1,248. From May 5th 2004 gold spot fixing takes place by telephone. In April 2004 N M Rothschild & Sons announced that it planned to withdraw from gold trading and from the London gold price fixing. Barclays Bank took its place on June 7th 2004, and the chairmanship of the meeting, formerly held permanently by Rothschilds, now rotates annually. Defragment your Pagefile eeping your pagefile defragmented can provide a major performance boost. One of the best ways of doing this is to creat a separate partition on your hard drive just for your page file, so that it doesn't get impacted by normal disk usage. Another way of keeping your pagefile defragmented is to run PageDefrag. This cool little app can be used to defrag your pagefile, and can also be set to defrag the pagefile everytime your PC starts. To install: * Download and Run PageDefrag * Tick "Defrag at next Reboot", * Click "Ok" * Reboot Speedup folder access If you have a lot of folders and subdirectories on your computer, when you access a directory XP wastes a lot of time updating the time stamp showing the last access time for that directory and for ALL sub directories. To stop XP doing this you need to edit the registry. If you are uncomfortable doing this then please do not attempt. * Go to Start and then Run and type "regedit" * Click through the file system until you get to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Cur rentControlSet\Control\FileSys tem" * Right-click in a blank area of the window on the right and select 'DWORD Value' * Create a new DWORD Value called 'NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate' * Then Right click on the new value and select 'Modify' * Change the Value Data to '1' * Click 'OK' DISABLE SYSTEM SOUNDS Surprisingly, the beeps that your computer makes for various system sounds can slow it down, particularly at startup and shut-down. To fix this turn off the system sounds: * Open Control Panel * Click Sounds and Audio Devices * Check Place volume icon in taskbar * Click Sounds Tab * Choose "No Sounds" for the Sound Scheme * Click "No" * Click "Apply" * Click "OK" IMPROVE BOOT TIMES A great new feature in M'zoft Windows XP is the ability to do a boot defragment. This places all boot files next to each other on the disk to allow for faster booting. By default this option in enables but on some builds it is not so below is how to turn it on. * Go to Start Menu and Click Run * Type in "Regedit" then click ok * Find "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\M icrosoft\Dfrg\BootOpt imizeFunction" * Select "Enable" from the list on the right * Right on it and select "Modify" * Change the value to "Y to enable" * Reboot IMPROVE SWAPFILE PERFORMANCE If you have more than 256MB of RAM this tweak will considerably improve your performance. It basically makes sure that your PC uses every last drop of memory (faster than swap file) before it starts using the swap file. * Go to Start then Run * Type "msconfig.exe" then ok * Click on the System.ini tab * Expand the 386enh tab by clicking on the plus sign * Click on new then in the blank box type"ConservativeSwapfileUsage =1" * Click OK * Restart PC MAKE YOUR MENUS LOAD FASTER This is one of my favourite tweaks as it makes a huge difference to how fast your machine will 'feel'. Download and Run 2. Select Trace 3. Select Next Boot and Driver Trace 4. A Trace Repetitions screen will appear, select Ok and Reboot 5. Upon reboot, BootVis will automatically start, analyze and log your system's boot process. When it's done, in the menu go to Trace and select Optimize System 6. Reboot. 7. When your machine has rebooted wait until you see the Optimizing System box appear. Be patient and wait for the process to complete. Remove the desktop Picture Your desktop background consumes a fair amount of memory and can slow the loading time of your system. Removing it will improve performance. 1. Right click on Desktop and select Properties 2. Select the Desktop tab 3. In the Background window select None 4. Click Ok Remove Fonts for Speed Fonts, especially TrueType fonts, use quite a bit of system resources. For optimal performance, trim your fonts down to just those that you need to use on a daily basis and fonts that applications may require. 1. Open Control Panel 2. Open Fonts folder 3. Move fonts you don't need to a temporary directory (e.g. C:\FONTBKUP?) just in case you need or want to bring a few of them back. Once Installed: 1.Go to Show Wizard and select All 2.Run all the wizards by selecting Next or Finished until you are back to the main menu. Use the defaults unless you know exactly what you are doing. 3.Exit and Save Cacheman 4.Restart Windows Optimise your Internet Connection There are lots of ways to do this but by far the easiest is to run TCP/IP Optimizer. 1. Download Code: www.speedguide.net/files/tcpoptimizer.exe and install 2. Click the General Settings tab and select your Connection Speed (Kbps) 3. Click Network Adapter and choose the interface you use to connect to the Internet 4. Check Optimal Settings then Apply 5. Reboot Optimise your Pagefile If you give your pagefile a fixed size it saves the operating system from needing to resize the page file. 1. Right click on My Computer and select Properties 2. Select the Advanced tab 3. Under Performance choose the Settings button 4. Select the Advanced tab again and under Virtual Memory select Change 5. Highlight the drive containing your page file and make the initial Size of the file the same as the Maximum Size of the file. Windows XP sizes the page file to about 1.5X the amount of actual physical memory by default. While this is good for systems with smaller amounts of memory (under 512MB) it is unlikely that a typical XP desktop system will ever need 1.5 X 512MB or more of virtual memory. If you have less than 512MB of memory, leave the page file at its default size. Speedup Folder Browsing You may have noticed that everytime you open my computer to browse folders that there is a slight delay. This is because Windows XP automatically searches for network files and printers everytime you open Windows Explorer. To fix this and to increase browsing significantly: 1. Open My Computer 2. Click on Tools menu 3. Click on Folder Options 4. Click on the View tab. 5. Uncheck the Automatically search for network folders and printers check box 6. Click Apply 7. Click Ok 8. Sachin Tendulkar completes 20 years in Cricket and I salute him for his magnificent achievement . Ramesh was the ultimate CRICKET fan. He had all the videos and went to all the matches. Unfortunately, he passed away and went up to heaven. When he arrived at the gates of heaven he came across YAMARAJ. "Greetings Ramesh, we have been expecting you” YAMARAJ said. Ramesh asked YAMARAJ... “What is heaven like then?” YAMARAJ replied “All the greats are here, Bradman, Marshall, Wesley Hall, Larwood and they all play CRICKET here on the replicas of the great Stadiums.” “Bradman bating against Larwood ??? This is my idea of heaven!” Ramesh exclaimed. “Exactly!” YAMARAJ replied. Ramesh settled into heaven very quickly. He loved watching the matches. Ted and Robin are finally a couple. A heartbroken Marshall must now go on and try to continue his life without Lily, and he reluctantly begins dating other people. Realizing she is not an artist, Lily returns to New York. She's reunited with Marshall, and the season culminates in their marriage. Barney loses a "slap bet," which permits Marshall to slap him in the face five times at any given time in the future, whenever Marshall chooses, which he has done two times through the course of this season. It is revealed that Barney has a gay, black brother (Wayne Brady). Also, Barney takes a trip to California to be a contestant on The Price is Right, in part because he believes that Bob Barker is his father, although he doesn't actually say so. They eventually find out that Robin was a Canadian teen pop star in the early 90s singing, most notably, "Let's go to the Mall." The music video, viewed by Barney hundreds of times, becomes a common joke during the show. In the season finale, through a series of flashbacks, Barney learns from Ted and Robin that they had been broken up for some time before Marshall and Lily's wedding. They didn't tell anyone before because they did not want to take attention away from Marshall and Lily. Ted and Robin agree to stay friends as Ted wants to get married and Robin does not. The season ends with Barney excited at the prospect of Ted and himself being single guys on the town again. The final scene in season two ends with Barney and Ted on the balcony outside Lily and Marshall's wedding with Barney singing to the tune of, "Legen... wait for it..." In the year 2030, Ted Mosby (voiced by Bob Saget) gathers his daughter and son to tell them the story of how he met their mother. The story begins in 2005 with Ted (Josh Radnor) as a single, 27-year-old architect living with his two best friends from Wesleyan University (Middletown, Connecticut)[16][17][18], Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), a law student, and Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan), a kindergarten teacher, who have been dating for almost nine years when Marshall proposes. Their engagement causes Ted to think about marriage and finding his soul mate, much to the disgust of his (best)friend Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) whom he met in a bathroom after a night of drinks. Barney is known as a womanizer with an unnamed corporate job. Ted begins his search for his perfect mate. He is introduced to the ambitious young reporter Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), when Barney plays the game he invented to introduce Ted to women: "Have you met Ted?" Ted quickly falls in love with Robin and thinks about settling down, but Robin isn't ready. However, the viewers learn that Robin is not the mother when Ted, as he talks to his children, refers to Robin as their "aunt". As the series progresses, Ted begins dating a baker, Victoria, whom he meets at a wedding, causing Robin to become jealous and realize she does have feelings for him. Victoria moves to Germany for a culinary fellowship, and she and Ted try a long-distance relationship. However once Ted learns Robin has feelings for him, he tells her that he has broken up with Victoria and they almost have sex when Victoria calls and Robin answers by mistake. Ted and Victoria then break up, and Robin becomes mad at Ted for a number of episodes, but they eventually make up. Ted gets a call from Love Solutions, a matrimonial company that previously struggled to find a match for him, who have finally found him a match. But Ted decides not to show up for the blind date because he still believes Robin is the one. Meanwhile, Lily begins to wonder if she's missed any opportunities because of her relationship with Marshall, and decides to pursue an art fellowship in San Francisco, breaking up with Marshall in the process. How I met your mother is a comedy show. It is about a guy TED MOSBY who is telling his kids about how he met their mother. It is Narrated by an unseen man in the year 2030 telling his children the story of his 20-something years, this "Friends"-like sitcom actually revolves around a group of five friends in present-day Manhattan. They are TED MOSBY, BARNEY STENSON, MARSHAL ERICSON, LILY, ROBIN. The whole journey with all the girls he met, with whom he had affairs, whom he liked, how he approached and all. The opening scene of the series is set in the year 2030, as Ted's two teenage kids sit down to watch a video of their father describing how he met their mother. All 5 friends who are there in the group are totally different from each other. Ted is lovable and slightly insecure all the time. But he really gives a damn about all the relations he hold and this is the best thing about it and one more thing he looks great. Barney is the ladies' man whose ego is larger than his appeal. For him the gals are just a piece of cake. Getting in relation with someone is the worst thing according to him. It’s just a waste of time. Love is the word he hates most. Marshall is the bumbling, good-hearted second banana. His life starts with lily and ends with lily. He is fully committed with lily and don’t care for anything else. Lily is the sweet but slightly wild female who spends all her time with male friends. Unlike the gang in most "friends" shows. With Lily and Marshall voicing Ted's "passion," encouraging him to follow his desire for Robin, and Barney articulating doubt. Romantic comedies depend on appealing actors, and these five are really irresistible. After seeing barney we'd laugh out loud with a laugh track again. The script is humorous, though not hilarious, and the show boasts a great cast that could, with time, jell into a great one. If they can keep up the concept, this show might become a classic…which would be, as Barney would say, “legend”…wait for it, and I hope you’re not lactose-intolerant, because the second half of that word is…“dairy.” http://vickydailylife.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default
