I don't anyone really has a problem with eye candy. There are very sexual female game characters who are amazing and everyone loves them! The thing is though, (speaking as a woman) a lot of the time THAT'S ALL I SEE FOR WOMEN. Obviously there are sexualized men, but every 1 buff guy I can name 5 fur bikini wearing women, as well as 5 men who aren't overtly sexual. I can't do the reverse.

This is totally true. There are more sexualized female characters, even if you count the muscle-baring barbarian types as sexualized. (I do.) I guess I’m stuck on “Well, I run this blog, so I can’t call anyone else out for ogling anyone — real or fake, as a joke or earnestly.” I’m happy to hear your arguments otherwise, of course.

I’m fascinated by the kerfuffle over the ridiculously sexualized female characters in Dragon’s Crown, Kotaku’s complaint about them, and the response that the post got from the game’s artist, which featured this image of muscled dudes. They’re also sexualized, though whether to the point of the sorceress with gravity-defying cleavage is a matter of debate, I suppose.

Gamasutra makes some interesting points, and that post generated a neat little talk over at Gayme Bar’s Facebook page. Do have a look.
