This question is almost always asked by perspective employers and almost always answered with a resounding uuuuuh... Knowing how to describe yourself in an interview can mean the difference of landing your dream job or going back to the want adds.

It helps if you come to grips with the fact that this question will be asked and you prepare for it ahead of time, but be careful that you don't some off sounding like you memorized a script the night before. When getting ready to describe yourself in an interview you should consider the following:

•Don't tell them what they already know: Don't start out with your name and age, they have that on the application and repeating it sort of makes you sound silly. Instead of saying where you went to school -also on the application- tell the interviewer what you got out of your schooling or who influenced you along the way. Get into any activities or hobbies you have that may not be listed on the application. This is your time to let the interviewer know everything about you that is not on the application already.

•Give your strengths AND your weaknesses: First off all when giving your strengths, never come off too cocky. Be proud, but be careful not to toot your own horn too loudly as this can be a major turn-off to the interviewer. Besides giving what your strengths are, also mention your weaknesses, but do it in a way that makes you look good. 'I have no patience for those that do not want to go the extra mile to help a co-worker,' or 'A big fault of mine is that I tend to pay too much attention to detail when it may not be needed.' Statements such as those show the interviewer that you don't think you are perfect, but that your faults are good ones to have.

•Be honest: This is most important of all. If you are not being honest many prospective employers can see right through your bologna and besides, you are who you are. If the job isn't meant to be, then that is life. Never pretend to be somebody you are not.

•Speak clearly and don't stammer: This goes back to the whole practice thing. If you are constantly stammering or saying 'uh' then you give off the impression that you are searching for words to say. This gives a bad vibe off because if you don't know who you are, then who really does?

While there are no magic words to speak that will guarantee you a job, you should be prepared to adequately describe yourself at an interview. Again, you know the question is coming, so you may as well prepare for it. A good trick is to stand in front of the mirror and interview yourself. Ask yourself the question and answer the question. Would you hire yourself? If the answer is no, then chances are neither will the prospective employer, so keep practicing until the answer is yes.

About the Author:
Jason Kay recommends reading resume service reviews before choosing a resume writing service.
<fieldset><legend>Related articles</legend>

Careers: Job Interview Guidelines

Careers: Even More Behaviors for a Successful Job Search

Careers: Still More Behaviors for a Successful Job Search

Careers: More Behaviors for a Successful Job Search

Careers: Behaviors for a Successful Interview - Part 1

Careers: Overcoming Interviewing Fears

Careers: Recruitment Tips

Careers: Interview Tips For Fresh Graduates

</fieldset>

Self Improvement: 3 Techniques to Control Your Anger

There are a vast amount of techniques that people can employ to help control their anger issues. Many people in today's world find that they just cannot control their anger and it just seems to brew inside of them until they do something that they may regret later. For people like this it is extremely important that they learn skills and techniques that help them cope with this problem.

Adults and children alike are affected by anger issues, so it is necessary that the coping mechanisms work well with both children and adults. If you are someone; or know someone who has daily anger issues, it is imperative that you learn a couple techniques that will help you cope with anger:

1) Keeping a journal. When an upset person freely writes about things that are bothering them a weight is lifted off of their chest. Their negative thoughts and emotions are pointed somewhere, and not at a certain individual. This just helps the person vent and get the feeling of anger out in the open, where they won't stir and cause more anger. When a person reads through their journal they may also be able to see what is angering them. They might see a theme and try to avoid it.

2) Stay away from things that make you angry. It's really quite simple, if something makes you mad you should try to avoid it. If you realize that every time you put yourself in a situation that you lose your temper...Why not just avoid the situation? Sometimes it seems to me that people with anger issues put themselves into situations where they know that they are not going to come out happy. If you really want to stop your patterns of anger you should learn to just back down from certain situations that you have no control over.

3) Learn to discuss you anger and to talk out a resolution. If you are can be patient when someone makes you angry you should wait until a later time and try to talk out your feelings with that person. Try to learn and understand where that person is coming from and a lot of time you will realize that it was just a misunderstanding. A good open talk will usually solve the problems that you are having with a person.

If you find yourself constantly angry and upset it can really interfere with your lifestyle. If it is getting in the way of everything that you want to do, it's probably time to do something about it! You should find out what works for you and stick with it.

Read my Dermasis Reviews here. While the old tried and tested method of repetition is still an important part of memory techniques, we also need a bit of novelty to keep our minds awake and to stimulate our brains.

We all have times when we'd love to be able to improve memory - for school tests, college exams, business presentations or even just in our day to day lives. Pregnant women are particularly prone to memory loss, and often seek ways to improve memory. Age is also a consideration; as we get older, our ability to remember things slows down and we find ourselves misplacing things or forgetting appointments.

By learning new information, we can help improve memory in the long-term. The part of our brain that produces the chemical dopamine responds better to fresh images, ideas and experiences, and can improve memory retention more effectively that simply repeating the same information over and over again. To improve memory techniques, there are plenty of things we can do in our day to day lives:

Improve memory - with word games.

By simply doing the crossword or word game in your daily or Sunday newspaper, you'll help improve memory by learning new words or phrases. Each day will bring a new challenge so you will be stimulating your brain regularly.

Improve memory - with number challenges.

Sudoku is a popular number game, but there are many other number puzzles you can try to help your quest to improve memory. Again, you will be keeping your brain active and opening up your mind to new challenges on a regular basis.

Improve memory - learn a language.

Exposing your brain to anything new will help improve memory function, but learning a language can be a particularly rewarding experience. You don't need to go as far as taking classes, simply watch some of the foreign language learning programs on TV or learn a few words of Spanish or French, for example, each day.

Improve memory - play an instrument.

This is another fun way to get round the problem of increasing memory loss. Picking up a guitar or sitting for an hour or two at a keyboard could be a great way to improve memory performance. You'll be stimulating your brain function by practising new chords or melodies!

Of course, many of us lead very busy lives and don't always have the time to take up a new hobby or pastime. We can still improve memory techniques in our day to day lives, simply by paying attention to the things around us. Instead of walking or driving home in a daze, we can help improve our memory just by looking around!

Learn about pruning wisteria and growing wisteria at the Wisteria Tree site.
Self Improvement: Workplace motivation

Leading a motivated team is not only more productive, you will find it much more enjoyable and rewarding too. Poorly motivated employees rarely function well as a team, and typically generate more stress for you than they do results. So good leaders consider the impact of their actions on workplace motivation carefully.

Some people tend to take a job that they do not particularly want, just for the money. When people do this, they can be resentful at the workplace. Another issue is that maybe the pay doesn't seem worthy when compared to the work responsibilities.

Regardless of whether a business is product based or service based, there are quotas to meet in order for the business to be successful. In a typical organizational structure, one or more managers are appointed over specific departments to ensure they are meeting the objectives set before them. Getting a group of people to all share and work toward a particular goal can be a delicate matter, since each individual has their own personality, characteristics and work style.

Too often, workplaces are sources of useless or nonexistent feedback. At one extreme, you may have a boss who demands a lot but offers no praise or commentary for a job well done. At the other end, you may have a boss who always says everything is wonderful and makes no distinction between quality work and drivel. Neither extreme is going to be effective workplace motivation.

Well first let me share another quick story with you... A few days ago a friend commented that her husband had come home from work happier than she had seen him in ages. It turns out that something exceptional had happened.

It is essential that you and any co-workers understand exactly what you are working towards. Make sure that you have a very clear idea and vision for your business goal, and make it very specific. This needs to be made clear to every person working on the project. Without this understanding it will be difficult to achieve it.

Well, self-confidence is a vital aspect of life and success, more so in the workplace. Indeed, it can be said that faith in oneself-in one s actions, beliefs and abilities-is the very key to office survival. Possessing the right dose of self--confidence can not only propels you to great heights, it allows you to make the most of life s opportunities, face challenges and perform well when you need to.

Survey after survey in recent times has indicated that money is certainly not one of the prime motivators for employees. Perhaps, they are true to an extent at the entry level, but soon they realize that money alone can't make life interesting or meaningful. They can buy a lot of things, but not self esteem or peer recognition. These days, for a few dollars more, no one is going to change jobs

These behaviors include people saying one thing and meaning another, giving lip service, gossiping and backstabbing. Enlist a company-wide commitment to stop every one of these workplace dysfunctions that lead to conflicts and lower employee productivity.

Read about ayushveda blogs.

Author: Alfred

<fieldset><legend>Related articles</legend>

Self Improvement: How to Build Working Relationships

</fieldset>

Careers: Take Your IT Professional Career to the Next Level with Online Training

CompTIA and Security Plus are considered to be the best certifications that you can obtain to ensure that you will find and keep a great job in the IT community. While implementing these strategies does not guarantee that you will get her back, it does increase your chances.

The first thing that you can try doing to get back your ex girlfriend is to not chase after her. What this means is you need to break off all contact with her. That you initiate, no more phone calls or texts in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning. You want to stay away from places that she visits frequently, if it is a place both of you enjoy cut back on how often you show up. Chasing after her is going to annoy her, let her be the one who comes back to you.

The second thing that you can do is to move on with your life. You want to work on making yourself a better person, rather than focusing on her. Work on improving the things that she was first attracted to, but also work on creating new interests and friends. You can also work on your weaknesses to help make yourself a better person. If you can afford to lose some weight, go to the gym and burn some fat, if you had an anger problem try working on anger management.

The third thing that you have to do when trying to get back ex girlfriend is to let go of all the negative feelings that you currently have. After a break up it is normal to feel hurt and angry, but you need to get over these emotions and gain a positive attitude, this can help make it easier to move forward and turn yourself into a better person. One-way to let go of those angry feelings is to write a letter to your ex explaining how you feel, get everything off your chest in the letter, but do NOT send the letter. Rather than sending the letter you want to watch it burn to help release those feelings.

The fourth thing that you can work on doing is being thankful for the things that you currently have in your life. Every morning that you wake up take a moment to think about the things that you still have in your life, such as friends that acre about you or a family to spend the holidays with, Being thankful for the little things in life helps turn you into appositive person instead of bitter one.
The last thing that you can do to help get back your ex girlfriend is to be open to dating again. This does not mean getting into serious relationships or even flirting with every girl that walks by, it just means being more sociable. Flirt with the cute girl at the bar, get her number, and take her out to dinner.

You could walk around wondering can I get my ex back or you could take action and make getting them back a reality. Sometimes you need help to save your relationship. Here we discuss this in more detail.

It is very beneficial to be around positive people as they tend to radiate an attractive energy. We automatically want to be a part of that energy, and are instinctively drawn to it. Having a positive approach also raises your energy levels, which in turn makes you feel and look younger.

Maintaining a negative approach can be bad for your health. Happy people tend to have higher levels of antibodies which help to fight off infection more easily. Also, in general, optimistic people live quite a few years longer than pessimists.

One of the first things that people notice when they first meet you is your smile, and this is what they will base their first impressions on. Laughter and smiling help to exercise your facial muscles and also tones them.

Even if you wake up feeling down, try not to indulge the mood. Putting on your favourite outfit will straight away lift your mood. If you appear well turned out, you can deal with your mood, because you know that you will look good to everyone else. Use these 'feel good' emotions to turn off the negative ones.

It is really not surprising that most people worry about their imperfections,as we are constantly hammered with media images of slim, young, beautiful people. Try not to worry too much about what other people think of you. As long as you feel good about yourself, that positivity will always shine through. Remember that beauty is all about confidence. Try to take control of how you look and you will automatically feel more confident.

Paul has been writing articles for almost 1 year now. In most cases you can learn how to execute self hypnosis all by yourself. This can be a valuable method to use when your children cause stress, your job becomes overwhelming, or your spouse is causing discord in the family.

Meditation and self hypnosis are somewhat alike in technique. You must relax the body and because of that the hormones that cause stress to set in lessen while the mind becomes obsessed with something other than the problem. Affirmations are what make self hypnosis different that meditation. Affirmations are positive declarations that can make what ever is troubling you better. These declarations will impart a feeling of well being and the ability to defeat any problems in your life.

The first step in applying self hypnosis techniques is to decide what affirmation statements you will be focusing on during your session. You can have just one affirmation statement or several. They need to be something you can remember easily and recite during the self hypnosis session so be careful to center on just a few at first until you get used to doing it and can retain more.

The next thing that must be done is to decide where your will perform self hypnosis; a place that is cozy and you will not be bothered by others. You must relax your body next and an easy way is to make a part of the body tense for a moment then relax it. Raise a leg and clench the muscles to make it tense up then relax and allow the leg to become loose. Continue with the hip, the muscles of the stomach, the feet and so on. Keep going until your whole body is loose and comfortable. As you relax each body part recite what you are doing like I am relaxing my arm. Affirm that you are relaxing each body part as you do it. Now add in some of your memorized affirmations concerning the problem you are having. Mix those memorized affirmations with the statements you are making about relaxing.

Continue to do this for about 15 or 20 minutes. If you go a little longer it will not hurt but remember that this is a relaxation technique and try not to fall asleep. It is a good idea to set an alarm or a timer for 20 minutes to be sure they will not fall sound asleep.

There are companies that provide affirmations for you. They are produced on CD's or they can be downloaded as an MP3. Turn them on after you get into bed at night right before it is time for sleep. You can find recordings that have to do with just about any subject including stress. Download can easily be found online for purchase.

When you execute self hypnosis you outline objectives and achievements prior to going into a relaxed state then affirm them while in that state. The suggestions go past the consciousness into the subconscious mind where they will take on an aspect of reality. Suppose you wish to loose weight, so affirmations may include I crave nourishing foods or I wish to eat foods that are healthy for me. Keep everything positive. After a few times you might notice that instead of eating the left over cake you reach for an apple instead. It might amaze even you.

Self Hypnosis techniques give you the ability to handle anger or stress. They make it easy to attain goals or to work out issues or it can improve self confidence. The best thing is that it you do not have to pay for it. Self hypnosis can give you the upper hand in improving your life.

Discover more self hypnosis techniques with these secrets of real hypnosis.

Author: Trevor Johnson

<fieldset><legend>Related articles</legend>

Self Improvement: Hypnosis Techniques for Relaxation that you can do yourself

</fieldset>

Careers: Telecommuting Phone Interview Tips

Whenever you apply for a job; if a hiring manager is impressed with your resume or application, then you can expect an interview to take place. This is how they tell if you are right for the position they want to hire for.

In an onsite job, the interview will be done in a face to face manner. You, as the prospective employee, would dress to impress them and keep your body language in check to make sure you're presenting yourself in a professional manner. Telecommuting positions have a different process, however.

While some local jobs will require you to come in for a face to face interview; most telecommuting companies choose to perform the interview over the phone. A phone interview doesn't offer you the chance to present yourself as a professional in the same way as a face to face one does.

But, you can still show yourself as a qualified applicant. Here are some tips that can help you the next time you are set up to have a phone interview:

Have your resume handy- Some of their questions will be based off what they see on your resume. If you have it handy during the interview, then it will help you answer their questions easier, since sometimes one's nerves can get the best of them.

Go ahead and Dress Up and Smile- Okay, some people might think that this would be pointless since the employer won't see what you're wearing over the phone or notice whether you're smiling or not. Getting dressed up for the interview helps you more than it does them. You will have more confidence and that will show when you talk to the interviewer. Same with smiling. When you smile it helps to relax you and your nerves won't be quite as bad for you.

Give yourself plenty of time before interview- Have at least 30 min. to yourself, before the phone call, to practice some relaxing techniques and go over some things you may want to ask the interviewer or add during the interview. Have a light snack to ensure a grumbling stomach doesn't take your attention away from the interview.

Set aside plenty of time for the interview- Most interviews can last around 30 minutes. Some could go longer than that. Set aside at least an hour just in case the interview does go longer than normal. It's not too professional to cut an interview short because you have to run off for an errand 20 minutes after it started.

Offer brief, but informative answers- Avoid giving short yes/no answers. Offer enough information to answer their questions, but don't take up too much of their time giving them stories. A sentence or two usually works well.

Even though your job interview will more than likely be done over the phone, there isn't any reason why you can't still present yourself in a good way. Most employers who do these kinds of interviews look for things like confidence and ability to answer questions and take directions.

They are aware that any employee, no matter who they are, will have some degree of nervousness. So, there's no reason to worry about being nervous. Just try and keep yourself relaxed as much as you can and you'll do just fine.

Author: Nell Taliercio
Nell Taliercio has been working at home full time since 2004. This is especially so if the phone isn't ringing after an interview. If, at least, a week has passed with no word on your prospective employment, it may be time to send a follow-up letter to confirm your status.

A follow-up letter is use to remind or ask the company about your application status and therefore, it is said to be a follow-up application letter. However, a lot of people looking for work are apprehensive about sending follow-up letters. Afraid they'll come across as being too eager or pushy, they'd rather spend the time waiting, all while wracking their nerves about what the real status might be.

The thing is, follow-up letters don't need to be pushy. A subtle one can get you all the answers you need, without pushing the wrong buttons with your employer. If you do it respectfully and sincerely, chances are good that they'll take kindly to it. How are you going to start a follow-up letter? If you are not sure, then these tips might help you improve your letter without being so pushy your employer:

Use an appropriate tone. Before sitting down to write, make sure you use an appropriate tone. This means formal and businesslike, apart from being respectful (imagine yourself in the position of an employee). You can use a writing software and a grammar checker to help you if you need assistance shaping your letter and checking your grammar and spellings in this way.

Restate your application. Inform them of the position you applied for, when you sent your resume and the details of your past interviews with them (dates, interviewer). This will help them recall your previous application with the company or with your employer. Another advantage of this is that, what if your previous application was lost and they can't find any possible ways to contact you? That is why, you should also include a copy of your previous application together with your follow-up letter.

Mention the deadline. If you were given a date to wait to hear from the company, state it in your letter. If no date was given, just inform them of how long you have been waiting for a response.

State other applications. If you need to know your status because you have pending applications with other companies, let them know. Give them details (even if you do not mention the actual names) - any offers already on the table, when you expect to hear from them and such.

Request for action. Respectfully ask that you be informed of your pending application's status. State your reasons for asking clearly (e.g. "I'm planning to take an offer with another company").

Find out how to write perfect English letters, reports and emails by writing less. The resume that you submit is going to be the very first impression that potential employers will have of you and for this reason, you will want to do everything in your power to make your resume as strong as possible. A weak resume will more likely than not be ignored and in a corporate climate where the best professional presentation is usually the one recognized, you need to make sure that your own resume can live up to these standards.

Watch Your Choice Of Words

The way that you describe yourself within your resume will be one of the most important factors on whether you will appear interesting enough to call back for a job. Employers want to hire people who have the skills and qualities necessary to become a valuable member of the team and who can fulfill all of the duties that the job dictates. The words that you choose to do this in your resume are going to be very important.

In your prior work experience, you will want to take care to describe the jobs which gave you the greatest relevance to the position that you are applying for. Describe your personal accomplishments within that job. When you are detailing your personal skills and attributes that make you a suitable candidate for the current position, make sure that you consider how they will fit into the overall picture of the company's success. Using eye-grabbing keywords around these accomplishments and skills can help make you even more attractive to the hiring employer, as they can indicate that you know how to command their attention and use it to your benefit.

Be Aware Of How The Resume Looks As Well

The actual appearance of your resume is going to be another important quality for your success. Make sure to carefully proofread your resume, looking for spelling and grammar errors. Take the time to also carefully check all of the facts that you have listed, as you will want to be fully accurate with everything you are describing. This indicates a strong work ethic and shows that you are professional and that you do pay very close attention to all of the details.

You can also make a great impression with the professionalism of your resume itself. Make sure that it is printed on clean white paper of a good stock. Cheap paper will result in a cheap printing quality which can make your resume smudge or appear weak. The font selection will be important as well. You want to show personality in your resume while still being professional. Choose a classy font which is clear to read but can still give an indication of who you are as a worker. Do all of your printing in black ink. This can help you put together a resume, which looks great and has a better chance of being noticed.

For more resume writing tips and help with creating a professional looking resume, try the free resume builder from CareerRush.
<fieldset><legend>Related articles</legend>

Careers: Resume Writing: Tips to Choose the Right Format

Careers: Strengthening Your Executive Resume With the Right Keywords

</fieldset>

Careers: Online Job Boards Can Help You Define and Find Your Perfect Job

No matter where you live, finding meaningful employment can be a job in itself. In many American cities jobs are still scarce, but that doesn't mean you should give up looking for your dream job. There are plenty of companies hiring if you know how to look.

Savvy job-seekers know that simply relying on a local newspaper or word of mouth is no longer enough. You'll need to use all your available resources if you want to have your pick of job listings. If you live in a major metropolitan area, then one of the best ways to find jobs is to take advantage of technology. Websites can help your target your search and maximize your chance of finding the best job listings.

1. Access More Information By Searching Online

A big advantage of using the Internet is that you can do more research about prospective companies. Most job sites provide a link to the hiring company's website. Use this valuable link to learn more about the company culture and work environment. Websites also provide a more detailed job description than the few lines available in the local classifieds. This can help you decide if the job description really matches your career goals.

Not only will researching the company culture and job description help you narrow down which jobs to apply for, this extra knowledge will be an asset when you get the interviewing stage. Potential employers will be impressed that you took the time to "do your homework."

2. Define Your Search with the Right Keywords

Online, there are many different careers to choose from with pages of search results in each category. It's important that you have a clear idea of what you're looking for. Your search will be more efficient if you only apply for positions that really match your needs and skills. Make a list of your skills or special training, then use them as your keywords when searching for jobs online.

This doesn't mean that you need to completely avoid employment opportunities that fall outside of your skill set. If you're looking to change careers, then focus more on finding a company that matches your goals rather than your current skill level. In this case, your list will include a description of the type of office environment you want to be in, the skills you'd like to learn, or specific benefits your new company should offer. As you browse the job listings, keep this list handy so you can see how potential companies measure up to your goals.

3. Sort Potential Jobs by Location or Skill Set

Even if you narrow your job search to match your specific education or training, sorting through all the employment options can be time-consuming. Happily, searching online also makes it easy to bookmark your favorite jobs. You can even sort your bookmarks according to region or career -- Long Beach jobs in one folder and Los Angeles jobs in another or graphic design jobs in one folder and writing jobs in another.

Being organized will help you stay on track as you go through the application process and make it easier to follow up on leads later.

4. Be Persistent

The perfect job may be hard to find, but there are many ways to use technology to increase your luck. Evaluate your career goals and then target your search to just the job listings that match your objective. Whether you live in Long Beach or Long Island, by effectively using technology you'll see that finding a career you are passionate about can be a rewarding experience that pays off both professionally and personally. Take the time to do your research and you may just find that your next job is your best job.

EverythingLongBeach.com is a community website that covers Long Beach events, news, art and entertainment. All social interactions rely on communication. It is through communication that we develop trust and integrity between individuals. Development of relationships therefore rely on developing a sense of mutual trust between two individuals. The best way to do this is to create a rapport. Before you expect others to listen to you it is important that they feel comfortable and relaxed in your presence. This should be the case with all people in all situations from friends to the local shop assistant.

Why? Because being a good communicator should be a way of life not a tap that you just switch off and on at a given moment. Being an effective communicator requires consistency in your habits and behaviours. It is hard to make something natural if you are not doing it all the time. Be a good communicator as much as possible and eventually it will become part of your habits.

In our working relationships being able to communicate well is essential for creating the all important first impression. You may not realise this, but the judgements we form of someone in the first 10-15 seconds of meeting them are the most important in terms of the attitude they take to us. If you want to make a good impression in business then getting respected in the first 10-15 seconds is crucial for success,.

It is important to distinguish between mutual respect and liking someone. It is not always necessary to like the person you are talking to in order to develop a good line of communication. In business it is more important to be mutually respectful with one another rather than trying to be one another's best friend. In fact trying to be like a friend could actually prove counter productive.. It can make you appear to be disingenuous rather than honest and open.

So where do we begin if we want to heighten our communication skills. Well first of all lets think about what makes a good conversation. A good conversation should be a two way process between two individuals who have made a connection with one another. The way to tell whether this connection has been established or not, is when you experience a sense of trust and respect with another person. This process is initiative it should feel right ' that is the way to tell.

Think of the signals you make towards someone you feel comfortable with. Your body language is likely to be honest and open. You are likely to make eye contact. Your tone of voice will probably be calm and relaxed. Contrast this with the way you are with someone you feel less comfortable around. Once you have identified the behaviours you exhibit when you are comfortable around someone think about how you can include these in all your dealings with people.

The way we interact with others comes through a variety of influences. Among these are ' the places and people you spend your time with. The way you look ' and just as importantly - the way you feel that you look. Your own self esteem plays a major part in the interactions you make with others. It is no coincidence that the people most at ease in conversation are those people who have the confidence and belief in themselves.

Your value systems and beliefs inform much of your decision making so it is no surprise to hear that they are also critical in your interactions with people. If you are naturally suspicious of other people then do not be surprised to find that you too are seen as untrustworthy. Why? Because you are going to be more likely to act in a way that discourages others to trust you. So therefore an open mind ot others is important in sending the right signals of trust and honesty.

Experts on relationship building all agree on one thing. It is possible to become an expert communicator by learning how to adapt your body language signals according to the individual you are communicating with. We call this following body language cues. Simple things like breathing in unison and adopting a similar body stance and posture are massive in reassuring the other person on the subconscious level.

Similarly with verbal communication, adopt a similar tone of voice and rhythm to your speech. Remember though that this should be a subtle incorporation rather than an impersonation

Andrew James offers a no cost video showing you step-by-step how to overcome negative thinking patterns. please visit www.stopthenegativewaves.com

<fieldset><legend>Related articles</legend>

Self Improvement: Workplace motivation

</fieldset>

Relationships: Unhappiness in Life Causing Marriage Issues

If you are unhappy in aspects of your life outside of your marriage, does that affect your relationship? Stress can be a huge issue inside the marriage, with such subjects as money, sex and child rearing causing internal stress. But if you're not happy outside your marriage it may have an impact on it.

There are lots of stressors out there that aren't based in your relationship at home. If you're in a bad job that's making you miserable it can have a really big impact on a marriage. This is quite a big problem for a lot of people as they struggle to make ends meet.

These issues are not from inside the marriage but that doesn't mean it's not going to cause marital problems because it certainly can create an environment for them. Problems such as depression, sexual dysfunctions and frustration may arise from these external stressors, and then the disagreements start over such things as sex and finances. It may appear to the stressed spouse that these are marital problems when in fact they are coming from their internal stresses over external pressures.

It is important as a couple to work through these issues. Many couples do not need or can not afford marriage counseling, but they do need to sit down and try to get to the root of the problems together. Allowing personal issues to enter your marriage is truly inevitable, you are both individuals who will feel stress and experience life problems, and of course they will come into the marriage. The importance is to truly understand the underlying issues and solve them together. It may require your support, but you can do what it takes together to make things right.

A real problem will arise if the stressed spouse won't talk about what is happening or becomes truly depressed. This might be a situation where individual counseling would be a good thing, this would enable them to verbalize what's occurring to someone else, enabling understanding. There are additional hurdles when you are separated from your mate by miles and travel time, so let us discuss overcoming them.

Depending on the situation that has separated you from your loved one by a long distance, you may be content to just keep the relationship alive. The truth is, though, with a little help you can maybe even make it thrive.

The first thing for you to do is make sure the two of you are in agreement on the basics of the relationship. By basics I mean:

You are in love and in a serious relationship with each other

You both would like the relationship to endure through the time you are apart

You both agree that you are not going to see other people during this time apart

The last point may seem like a no brainer, but I actually had a friend once who had a long distance relationship with a bright, attractive and dedicated woman. During that time he was telling me of his exploits while he was away and I asked if he was still with the woman I knew. His response was "an out of town fling is not cheating". I was floored, and apparently she found out about his escapades and did not agree with him. They broke up.

Needless to say, this long distance relationship advice is for people who both feel the relationship has the potential to be life long.

With that behind us, analyze the communication skills of both you and your partner. Consider how you intend to communicate while apart. Telephone calls are probably OK because I am guessing you two know each other well enough to understand "body language" even over the phone.

In today's world of electronic communication, understand a common saying in the computer world:

"It can take years to develop a relationship, but only one misunderstood email to destroy it."

There is no tone or inflection in an email or text message to let the other person know that you are joking or that what you (mis) typed is not what you meant for real. There can also be time lags between the communication that can really let a persons imagination run wild and blood boil hot.

So be careful how you communicate to ensure there is no miscommunication that could leave wounded feelings, even for a short time.

Here is the flip side of that coin, though. If you can get your communication style worked out well between you two then you can actually end up with a stronger relationship than most people who are physically together.

Communication is probably the key ingredient to keeping any relationship strong, so if you have that mastered then you are miles ahead of everyone else - pardon the pun.

Another key ingredient to any relationship is trust. Since you cannot "check up" on what your partner is doing on a daily or even weekly basis, you really have to trust each other for any long distance relationship to work.

Therefore, if either of you are the insecure type and have trouble trusting your mate then my advice is to reconsider attempting a long distance relationship. Chances are you will find yourself wondering if the other person is being true to you.

Make sense so far?

Continue with my long distance relationship advice at our website which is dedicated to building and repairing serious relationships and marriages.

We have one of the greatest resources available for immediate download also. If so, you will discover that it is time for you to think about how you are going to be able to beat the competition. The competition that you are looking at is going to be fairly endemic, and it starts during your job search and it will continue after you get your job unless you are able to figure some things out. The truth of the matter is that competition is something that you will keep on facing, and at the end of the day, you are going to need to learn how you can get the right kind of result from your work.

In the first place, you need to be someone who is proactive. It is currently not enough for you to simply turn in your resume and to expect to get many calls to service. The market place is currently very much in favor of the employers right now and there are many qualified and overqualified people are looking for work. Take some time and look at how you are going about getting the jobs that you want. Are you in a place where you are going to be able to move forward and to get the right kind of position? How are you going to stand out from all the people out there and what can you do to get the job done?

After you have sent in the resume, remember to give the place a call a week later. Ask them how the processing is going and essentially just remind them that you exist. This is something that many people do not do, and then they are surprised when they never get a call back. You need to let them know that you are interested in them. Sometimes, this works even if there are no job openings! Take some time and think about what your options are going to be and how you can make contact with the people at the place where you want to work. If you want to beat out the competition, this is definitely a part of what you want to do.

Also, make sure that you are willing to do contract work, especially if they are not quite ready to hire yet. Contract work often frightens people because of the perceived impermanence, but you should also remember that just because you are a contract worker now does not mean that you are going to be one forever! Take some time and think about what your options are going to be and how you can get your foot in the door. Be ready to deal with your competition and to be in a place where you are going to be able to shoot far above them.

Take some time and look into how you are going to be able to move forward no matter what is out there. If you are in a place where you want to get ahead, think about what is out there!

Elizabeth Martinez - Ph.D. - Organizational Psychology. Finding someone to love is not always easy, witness the tremendous growth in online dating sites designed to make finding love easier; but to maintain the relationship is where the real work comes in.

Whether you found your love interest at a church social, an online venue, or by cruising the bar scene, that someone special caught your eye and you were intrigued enough to find out more about him or her.

Chances are that the two of you were putting your "best foot forward" as they say in your appearance and behavior while you were getting to know each other. Over time, it is not only difficult to always be looking and acting your best, but the familiarity of the relationship can even breed boredom.

Couples who wish to maintain the relationship need to connect on a more sincere level than just the superficial beginnings of your meet up and dating. This love relationship advice is geared toward transitioning into a long term, happy and rewarding relationship for both of you.

There are many pitfalls you can encounter as your relationship progresses, and this usually happens slowly enough that you do not even realize it is happening. Knowing what to watch out for can help you avoid them.

Here are 3 common traps you want to avoid so you can maintain the spark and attraction between you.

1) Having unrealistic expectations of your mate. When you first meet you really do not know that much about the other person, but if you are attracted to them give them credit for being "perfect" - innocent until proven guilty, you might say.

Over time you learn their foibles and short comings that everyone has and some of these will annoy you. It may even anger you that he or she is not perfect like you hoped.

You need to understand that as they forgive your imperfections, you need to forgive theirs. Work on your own character flaws for both your benefit and theirs, certainly. Do not be more critical of them than you want them to be of you.

2) Not communicating effectively. Everyone is wired differently on this, and certainly men differently than women. There is going to have to be give and take; you both may even need to expand your comfort zone in how you express your feelings.

Do not be afraid to talk about your feelings with your partner, especially if something is bothering you enough that it is interfering with your relationship; even making you consider break up.

Always do so in an non confrontational manner and maintain your cool, even if he or she does not.

3) Mistaking sex for love. Over time you will find the physical side of the relationship at odds with the emotional side. They are not the same. Some make the mistake of thinking a lapse in the bedroom component is a sign that the love is no longer strong.

Women and men do not see the same connection between love and sex. Women see the one as just one way of expressing the other. Men may see sex as an expression of their masculinity and the womans interest as an indication of her love for him.

When this issue gets confused in can lead to hurt, anger and stress on the relationship. That is when the communication needs to kick in and the both of you discuss, calmly, just what is going on in your minds.

A lot of things change as we age, both physically and with the complexity of our lives. These changes affect each partner differently and as tensions increase it takes patience and understanding to work them out.

This is perfectly normal.

Learn how to repair any damage in your marriage or relationship brought on by these or other common traps by getting the best love relationship advice you can.

Pick up one of the most popular and successful resources at our website. Prepare well for your interview.

After searching every job ads pages of every newspaper and every job sites, you are finally called in for an interview. Although securing an employment and not the interview itself is your main goal, passing the interview is a very important phase.

An interview is your opportunity to present yourself, your talents and what you can offer potential employers. You very well know that competition for employment is tough these days. So you have to be well prepared and make the best impression in your job interview. Here are eight guidelines about interview to help you get the job.

Know where the company is. You think this is just a minute detail but it can make a big difference. You do not want to arrive late (and stressed) at your appointment. Prior to the interview, conduct your research and know where the company is exactly located. This important information gives you a rough estimate of your travel time.

Make sure to arrive at the place at least 15 to 20 minutes to allow yourself to freshen up and go to the powder room if you must. Many companies also ask their applicants to fill out application forms prior to the interview proper so the extra time will enable you to accomplish this without pressure.

Your appearance is as significant as your substance. The way you walk, the way you carry yourself and your fashion style speak a lot about you. Researches say that 65% of communication is nonverbal. Image and gestures are powerful factors in a job interview. So you must look decent, confident, poised and smart. Always create an impressive first impression.

Know your talents and potentials. Be confident of yourself and of what you can contribute to the company. Keep in mind your skills, education, working experience and training. Be ready to answer the common job interview questions like, "what makes you the best candidate for the job?" and "what do you have to offer the organization?"

Show a positive manner. This means providing positive responses to seemingly negative-based questions at all times. Never ever give negative criticisms of previous employer/s. You have to keep going even though you made a mistake in some instances. Employers are generally impressed with an optimistic attitude.

Be tactful and honest. Tact and honesty are signs of professionalism and good breeding. Answer all the recruiter's questions tactfully and honestly. Most interviewers are trained and experienced when it comes to assessing people's personality. they will always know if you are being truthful or not. This will greatly affect your chances of getting into the second interview and clinching the position as well.

Keep eye contact. Remember that eyes are powerful. Most recruiters and executives take notice of the body language of a potential worker and this covers posture, mannerisms and eye contact. Avoid looking away when hard questions are thrown into you. Maintain eye contact and smile during hand shakes and introductions, as this shows openness and friendliness.

Keep responses clear, concise and specific. You need not give long, irrelevant details to questions except if you are asked to provide more details. Limit your answers to not more than 3 minutes per question. Be specific and give quantifiable as well as concrete information. Avoid the tendency to over generalize.

Be prepared with your success stories. Do this by creating a list containing your skills and accomplishments. Think back of your previous work experience and choose two or three cases wherein you were able to successfully utilize your skills.

For more information on Most asked Questions and Phone Interview Questions please visit our website.

<fieldset><legend>Related articles</legend>

Careers: How to Describe Yourself in an Interview and Seal the Deal

Careers: Even More Behaviors for a Successful Job Search

Careers: Still More Behaviors for a Successful Job Search

Careers: More Behaviors for a Successful Job Search

Careers: Behaviors for a Successful Interview - Part 1

Careers: Overcoming Interviewing Fears

Careers: Recruitment Tips

Careers: Interview Tips For Fresh Graduates

</fieldset>

Careers: The Job Functions of a Graphic Designer

The principal roles of a graphic designer (or graphic artist) are to: 1) plan; 2) analyze; and 3) design a visual answer to a communication problem.

Clients rely on graphic designers to parlay a persuasive message; it can either be print, film or some form of electronic media using various different methods. The methods that graphic designers use to convey this message is through: 1) type; 2) photography; 3) animation; 4) illustration; 5) color; and 6) certain print and layout methods.

The graphic designer develops the overall layout and design of magazines, journals, newspapers, corporate brochures or reports, as well as many publications you see today. Some graphic designers also design promotional displays, marketing brochures, packaging, or logos for products and businesses. Some graphic designers produce the credits you see at the beginning and end of movies and television programs.

Today, we have an increasing number of graphic designers who specialize in digital media, which include designing web pages for the Internet, interactive media and multimedia schemes.

As a graphic designer, you have plenty of options and many different ways to use your talents and skills.

Designing any print or digital work is easy. The first step is to determine what the client actually needs. You will need to know what message the client wants to convey so you can portray the message in a way that appeals to the customer or user of the product or service.

When developing a design for your client, you need to look at different factors to plan and execute the design so it smacks the target audience right in the face. Take these following factors into consideration:

1. Cognitive
2. Cultural
3. Physical
4. Social

To produce a piece of work which will do everything that the client requires, you need relevant information regarding the project; and you need to meet with the client, as well as meet with their own creative or art directors (if the company has them). Usually the client will research their target audience and subject matter and relay this information to you.

If you want to excel in the world of graphic design, you need to identify the needs of your clients' consumers. You will discover much of your work will focus on creating a communication strategy for your client, as well as actually doing the designing and layout work.

Many graphic designers -- to produce a design for their client -- will either produce sketches or layouts through a computer or by hand. When creating a design for your client, look at various elements to produce something that the client will like and cause a reaction from their target audience. Use these elements in your design to produce the best effect:

1. Colors

2. Sound (if required)

3. Artwork

4. Photography

5. Animation (if required)

6. The style of type (font) they will use

7. The size of fonts and elements, as well as how different elements look together or separately on the page, or on the screen.

8. You also may design graphs or charts produced from data provided by the client.

In many cases, a you may need to consult with copywriters to determine the type of text you will use to accompany the visual part of the design. Once you have brought these elements together and you are satisfied with the end result, then you can present the mock-up to your client for final approval.

If you work for either a printing or publishing company, your other job function may include working with the printer to choose the type of ink and paper. Plus, the client may rely on you to review the design to check for any errors prior to publishing.

Many graphic designers today use a wide range of high-end graphics and layout software to produce designs. Certainly, when you design web pages or other interactive media, you will use computer animation and programming software to develop and produce a design for your clients.

Using such software programs is easy to use and provide a lot more flexibility. This added flexibility allows you to explore more alternatives for your designs. It helps to reduce the amount of time it actually takes to produce and present the completed design.

Finally, not only does graphic design software saves time, but it also cuts costs associated with producing designs using the more traditional methods.

Visit Brian Scott's website, http://www.FastCashDesign.com and learn about freelance graphic design and how to make money as a graphic designer .

Self Improvement: Self Help For Motivation - The Power Of Books

Self-help for motivation plays the key role as a person knows more about himself than others. These days quite a number of people suffer from self esteem issues, which can exacerbate into more serious health problems like anxiety attacks and depression. These issues are often caused by an overwhelming sense of negativity that people cannot seem to shake off no matter how hard they try. This article will endeavour to explain the underlying issues that have an impact on self esteem, and how one may overcome these problems easily.

It is not uncommon for people to suffer from self esteem related issues every now and then. It only becomes a problem when the issues drag on and worsen over time, and the person ends up developing mental health issues. Low self esteem problems usually begin when your perspective about yourself and the world around you changes and goes on a negative spiral. This can happen when you receive negative criticism about yourself, or blamed for something that you believe you were not a part of. This can also happen if something traumatic had occurred in your formative years that triggers a sense of self loathing.

But the thing you should know is that being adversely affected by the negative things that people might say will do you no good at all. As an adult, you should have the ability to filter out the good from the bad, so whenever someone gives you a negative feedback or criticism you have the choice of either taking it to heart or shrugging it off. If you truly believe that the other person is trying to give you some sensible advice, then consider their words carefully, introspect, and then move on. Do not linger on negative notions and allow them to affect your sense of self worth.

In order to build up a solid, unshakable self esteem, you need to take several things into consideration. The first thing you should always do is be constantly aware of what is being said to you. Do not always take what others say as a put down. Not all criticisms are negative, and if you know who your true friends are, you will know that the criticism is meant to make you a better person.

The second thing you need to do is to always think that the problem does not always necessarily lie with you, but with the critic. Most people tend to make negative comments to make themselves feel good. These people feed off of the negativity that they breed in others, they are prideful to a fault and will always try to make themselves feel better by making someone feel worse off. You need to identify these types of people, and stay away from them if possible.

If staying away from these negative people is not possible, then you should consider this last tip: Be assertive. You need to show them that they do not have any power over you, and that they cannot feed off of your negativity. You can counteract their negative comments with these simple words: "I am sorry you feel that way." This is a way of showing that you will not allow their comments to affect you negatively.

Ultimately, the most important thing is to love yourself. Love yourself, and you will find that you would have built up an impenetrable suit of armour comprising of solid self esteem.

Click Here to grab your FREE "Unleashing Your Inner Confidence In 5 Easy Steps" Report. For instance, the resume format should be educational background placed in one specific section of a resume and work experience in another. Then, finally, awards and commendations should be placed at the end. Add your contact information, and your resume is complete.

The reality is, however that resumes can be created in several different formats. Some formats focus the reader's attention on the applicant's history. Other formats simply showcase the applicant's skills. In order to select the format that works is best for your situation you should take the time to understand each of the formats.

• Chronological Format - The chronological format is, by far, the most traditional format. In essence, the chronological format requires applicants to list their previous employers, as well as any achievements earned while working for that employer, based upon the date you help that position. Even students who have only held part-time positions should include their work history in their information. Be sure to list the dates you help each position, your job title, and your achievements in that position.

You would list your most recently-held position first and continue listing positions until you have listed each relevant position. A good rule of thumb is to include your work history for the last fifteen years or so, but you may need to reach a little further into the past if you've been with the same employer for ten or more years.

• Functional Format - Applicants who have a gap in their work history may find that the functional format is better-suited for their resume writing. The functional format requires that the applicant list the skills he offers grouped by their category. Managerial skills, computer systems skills, and communications skills are common categories found in this format.

• Combination Format - Some applicants will opt to use a format that combines the best of each of the above-mentioned formats. The combination format for resume writing encourages job seekers to list each position they have held, as well as the skills that they developed while they were in that position. This style of format is especially useful for applicants who have a substantial work history but are attempting to break into a new field or industry. They are able to emphasize the skills they learned in their previous positions that can be carried over to their new career.

Resume writing doesn't have to be a daunting task if you know how to simplify the process. There are plenty of templates and samples available to make selecting a format relatively simple. Word processing programs like Microsoft's Word make physically creating your resume a breeze. The real key, however, is to gather the appropriate information ahead of time.

How much information do you need? The amount of information required can vary from person to person. A person who has held five job positions will have to pull together more details than the person who has just graduated from college. Regardless of your situation, certain pieces of information are required from everyone.

• Awards and Commendations - If you have had the honor of receiving any awards or commendations in your field, you should definitely include them in your resume writing. Each listing should show the name of the award, the presenting organization, and the year or date of the award. Your resume is the optimal place to crow a little about your achievements.

• Professional Memberships and Certifications - A fund raising executive might be a member of the association for fund raising professionals; a lawyer will be a member of his state's bar association. Whatever professional organization you belong to, be sure to list that membership in your application. Don't forget to include any certifications the association has given you.

When you have chosen your format, be sure to use powerful resume words and accomplishment statements on your resume.

Holly Wright has ten years of resume experience. Is anxiety too frequent during your day? Do you ever wish that there was a way for you to relax and it wasn't going to eat up a huge amount of time or completely empty out your wallet?

If yes is the answer to any of these questions then you owe it to yourself to learn the ways of self hypnosis relaxation techniques.

Now let's discover the best ways to learn about self hypnosis relaxation techniques.

The very first thing that you need to do is make sure that you can set aside a block of time that you will be undisturbed. You should have at least thirty minutes of free time but if you can set aside an hour's worth of time that would be even better. After you have your time set aside you then need to find a great place to relax. This place should be nice and clean, you could maybe light a few candles of your favorite scent. Make sure that the room is at a comfortable temperature. You can choose to sit down or even lay down during this process whichever makes you most comfortable. It is incredibly important that you do not cross your legs during the hypnosis relaxation process.

Now sit or lie down and close your eyes. You should then take several slow, deep and soothing breaths; you should be taking in air from the nose and release the air through your mouth. Think in your mind the word relax every time you take in and release air.

Another method to implement is to picture yourself at the bottom of a set of stairs that has a doorway at the top. With every step you take as you ascend up the stairs you should start to begin to feel like a bigger and bigger sense of relaxation. This can be hard to get the hang of at first but as you practice you will be getting better and better. As soon as you have reached the top of the stairway then you can open the door.

As the door opens you should be looking at a place that is utter a total relaxation. It could be a gorgeous castle, a beautiful well maintained garden with bright sunny weather. You should decide on the most relaxing destination that you can think of as you want to make sure that you choose the most charming and relaxing place that you can think of.

As soon as you have chosen the most relaxing place that you picture you will want to fill your senses with everything around you. You should enjoy all of the colors and sounds and just immerse yourself in the entire world that you have created in your self relaxation hypnosis. Are there beautiful flowers to smell? Can you run through some crystal clear waters and run your hand over sea shells and neat looking rocks. You want your imagination make your relaxation destination as real as you possibly can to get the best relaxation effects.

Next in the self relaxation hypnosis process is that you should take your time and enjoy every last aspect of the scene that has been created in your mind. Once you get to that 'Happy Place' if you will you want feel like you have spent enough time there to have fully relieved the stress of your day. You may not have a lot of time to do this everyday but you will see benefits no matter how long you are able to relax and how often you are able to use your self relaxation hypnosis.

Now there you go, you are able to equip yourself with all that you need to start removing some of the stress of your daily life. If you are suffering from really bad stress and anxiety then learning self relaxation hypnosis can be a way to manage your stress levels and assist in relaxing yourself during times of stress that may come along in your life.

Do you want to learn covert hypnosis?
