Say Hi to Jackie and Me - We are here to thank our supporters :)

Finally 1 day left for campaigning for WCI Title and I am feeling proud of my strong army of school friends, college friends, office friends, business partners and mentors. We made a great team and would love the group chats, looonnnng facebook message threads, emails, calls, tweets and DMs.

To be frank, I was notified about this very opportunity by my friends only. I got some 10 mails from friends asking me to apply for this opportunity because they believe in me and know me more than I know myself. It was great to see that couple of clients also mailed me about the opportunity. My team members at my startups supported me by promising no loss of work if I concentrate on campaigning for my name for World's coolest intern title.

From Day 0 - Content was gathered, strategy was made, team mates were mailed reminders.

Day 1 : The application post was posted and S$100 were granted for Google Adwords ( Really thankful to GOOGLE) . Now its time to create a media plan and write some ad copies for spreading it across the Google Network.

I gave great importance to Search Engine Optimization of the post and did both offsite and onsite SEO of the post. To get my application up the search results, I also got a press release done for my application. Thanks to couple of network blog authors like Gauadmission, Atblogs, Iitdreams blog and few more helped me to create link baits to my application. No need to mention, all the social networking websites and social bookmarking websites were used to spread the word about the application. And 1 day down the line, my application was in top among all other applications.

I used Google Adwords but in the early stage of the competition, I figured out that the motto or challenge is not to get people on my application and support it but get carriers for my application who will take it to others and spread the word across their network. Hence I headed to Twtbuck with a mere budget of $5 and created 5 campaigns. And quickly, I got over 980 hits on my application and hundreds of retweets.

Getting selected to Top 10 finalists was the best birthday gift that anyone could have given me. And we celebrated Diwali, Selection to my WCI Top 10 and my birthday in great manner. My birthday cake quote read "Happy birthday to Gaurav - #WCITOP10" :) My grandmother looked to happiest person when I told her that if I get selected I will go Singapore. She gave her priceless blessings to me.

During the day of my hirevue interview, my parents paid visit to temple to pray for me...love mummy and papa :) I know your wishes will definitely come true:)

Hi, I am writing this post as my contribution towards StanChart's Breeze World's Coolest Intern Competition. I am glad that I made it to top 10 finalists and would definitely want to win this crown.

For last 8 years, I am learning about how internet and internet users are connected and about their behavior. How users react to different things on internet which makes services and websites an overnight success or an epic fail

Through my start-ups in the field of Social media consulting, internet property, social gaming and twitter advertising , I think I have come a long way ahead from those initial internet days and I am in position to write an article that will help companies to optimize, strategize and analyze their social media marketing campaigns.

1. Start with setting up product timeline and support blog

The first thing that comes in my mind when I talk about product blog or support blog is Google. They way they have maintained their product blogs is a benchmark everyone should look up to.

A product timeline and support blog caters to all the peripheral queries that people doing on search engines while searching something related to your product.

For breeze, it will be something like how to send e-cheque, how to save money for my wishlist, app for managing money etc

If you are using cpanel, use FAQs or Wordpress blog present in fantastico to enjoy 1-click setup

2. A Lively and engaging Facebook Page and Facebook App

Facebook has access to over 500 million internet users. Having said internet users, they are people who also form markets for different products or services. I can easily say those 500 million users are potential customers for any bank. Hence engaging Facebook users through creative competitions and applications is like one of the best things you have done in your life.

A facebook page can also backfire in terms of negative comments but the admin of Facebook page should be capable enough to handle those negative comments smartly.

3. Twitter Profile and Twitter Badges

As a result, I got 130 hits from google ads and over 980 hits from Twitter. Hence, keyword targeted advertising on social media platforms like twitter really works.

7. Blogposts as Link Baits

Keyword reach blogposts with 3 links (maximum) targeting to your product site work wonders for any business. They not only bring visits to your product site but also increases the visibility of your product on the internet and acts like votes for your product.

8 Use LinkedIn - Don't Miss It - You Miss It, You lose alot

Company should get all its people on LinkedIn at any cost. Businesse social networking is prefect definition for LinkedIn and Product can showcased to different businesses on LinkedIn itself.

The REAL TIME FEEDBURNER and it looks good but for guys like me who are using Feedburner since its debut will take some time to like it. The interface is more like the Google's affiliate network.

If you are a student and you are applying for any program in XYZ university, Courier people play a big roles to make this process smooth (at times they do exactly opposite to it).

So in my case, Courier company screwed up. 24th Oct is the last date for submission of application and they haven't delivered it yet despite sending the application 2 weeks prior to the deadline. I am writing this mail with a hope that you won't behave with this mail in the same fashion you have behaved with my last 14 calls that I made in last 10 hours.

Directly coming to the point, I couriered my application form to Awesome University, Boston, USA through your company's Manchester office and it reached London on 15th Oct as per the tracking site. And as per the same tracking website, its still lying there in London only. May I know when will my courier reach its designated destination because its already very late now and I'll have to bear the consequences of delayed delivery. Please make it fast else I won't have any other option but to go to the Consumer court for suitable compensation.

Hope you won't have much problems with delivering my courier to Awesome University, Boston, USA at the earliest because I think that is what your supposed to be job is.

I think Charlie Bit my finger is the most viewed watched video till now and its hits are increasing at the rate of 7 lakhs views a day. Reddit.com lost the opportunity - The OWL is their true mascot

Last night I used Reddit to bookmark few posts of mine and some random stuff I found on internet and was quite impressed with the kind of traffic it generated for me in a quick time. The numbers made reddit a gold medalist with Stumbleupon and digg bagging silver and bronze medals respectively but hang on a minute, the performance of our gold medalist in not consistent. It was down due to load of users last night and its down due to load of users now. What if this is my last bookmark of the life, what if I want to bookmark Goodbye world I am dying, I think I will have to wait till their mascot OWL goes off and shows the actually reddit.

I suspect that good performance with lack of consistency is due to consumption of banned drugs, hence I am taking back their gold medal out of suspicion. Twice 3 hour long downtimes in 12 hours is really irritating.
