Up the top in this photo you can see the world’s smallest kite… apparently XD It was around 3cm plus the tail and very hard to get a photo of!

There were rides and mini stalls, I liked these planes painted to look like the red baron.

I thought the bears were kind of creepy XD

Speaking of creepy, there was a magic house too. That’s not the creepy part though…

The airbrushed almost faceless naked lady on the side is the creepy part *_*

There was a group of drummers who were really fun to watch, the kids were really good.

The super hero was spnsored by the Melbourne zoo… I’m not sure how big muscles help in fighting extinction but I’m sure it does in some way.

Lots of people brought their pets too, I love fluffy dogs :D

Absolute highlight was the BMX competition, the host was so funny!

He spent the whole time paying out the skaters and telling us that the louder we cheered, the more likely someone would stack it XD

We left because of the heat before anything really interesting happened but the under 15′s were pretty good.

I was most interested in the gigantic wall of candy floss :D

There were rides but I’m always too scared to go on them!

While this was happening, Celina and I pretty much did…. nooothing.

To be fair, we filmed like 5 videos while they were just planning their first one XD

Lastly I went to the fashion week after party that Glamaz held for those involved in the show.

Omg this was so yummy, I can’t remember what was in it but I want to find out and make at home! I think I love all foods that wrap up XD

Opening up the packaging, I received the matching CGU set of lipgloss, nail polish and loose eyeshadow. It’s a light purple base with blue shimmer. Did I mention that all of the names are nerdily inspired? The first collection is called “Hello World” mwahaha. As always promised I would be completely honest in the review regardless of being friends, luckily my expectations of awesomeness were not disappointed.

Everything is Vegan friendly, cruelty free and the polishes are also Big 3 free as well as formaldehyde resin free.

So let’s go one by one with these. The package of 3 is currently $26.85 or they can be bought individually on the site.

Lipgloss-

Packaging is plain and plastic, the lid is a little light but the overall weight is nice. The size is a tiny bit wider than most of my other glosses so I think it’s good value. Only complaint I have there is that it’s got one of those tops that wipes most of the gloss off the applicator. They are fairly standard though so can’t complain and I just popped the white part off the top so it comes out more smoothly.

It was extremely difficult to get a decent swatch of the lipgloss, it’s very sheer in that it provides only a slight wash of light purple with slight blue shimmer. You can definitely tell it’s shimmery in the light but capturing it on film not so much >_< I prefer more opaque coverage so my favorite way to wear it is layered over a matte lipstick for extra shimmer.

The formula is very different to a lot of other glosses, going on it actually feels like a creme lipstick. I don’t know how to describe it other than velvety… but liquid velvety… and not sticky so my hair just kind of slides off rather than getting stuck in it. The smell is something that one really has to experience as well. It is the EXACT smell of grape HubbaBubba. That could be a good or bad thing considering it made it really hard not to lick >_>

Loose Eyeshadow-

The loose eyeshadow powder is beautiful, this close up will give you a better idea of the blue shimmer’s real colour.

The powder is smooth and the glitter isn’t scratchy which makes for a very nice application both wet and dry. Dry it gives a very subtle shimmer and is beautiful on every day looks. Wet is where this really stands out because it looks AMAZING. Very pigmented and shimmery but still easy to blend with other colours. I have added this to my “most used” drawer which is saying something because I find loose powder in general less convenient than pressed. It’s a very big jar for the price so I’m thinking of pressing some myself to add into my every day and travel palettes, that’s how much I like it XD

Nail Polish-

And lastly the polish! Seeing as Kaz is a renowned polish blogger I expected big things from this and I wasn’t disappointed. My swatch today will be modeled by the lovely James… because he was dumb enough to sit next to me and be engrossed in his game :D Poor James!

The bottle is square which I prefer as they store more easily, the lid is matt black plastic and the brush is standard. Drying time was also standard.

Anyway you can see that with two coats it dries to a pink based purple and again the blue shimmer isn’t over powering at all. The formula was flawless and smooth, opaque with one coat but I did two to get a real depth of the shimmer. Overall this is a winner too and I’d really like to bust out my brushes and Konad to see if this would work with it. I haven’t used the Konad in so many years >_<

So overall?

I love the idea of matching collections like this. This probably isn’t a surprise considering how much I love matching everything. I found no major flaws in the collection and the quality is above what usually comes in this price range in Australia. Friendship aside I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again or the rest of the collection.

Mostly this collection really inspires me, it’s awesome to see good things come from nice people. It sounds soppy but I know how hard Kaz worked on this and it gives me hope that if I work just as hard that maybe my projects (like Bergamot) will turn out equally awesome. I can’t wait to buy some of the rest of the collection (hello Birthday Money!) and to see what she comes out with next. *cough*youshouldtotallymakeapinkglitter*cough*

Now quick look at the site before I buy it all :D

I removed it and covered it with some left over fabric from another project.

I hot glued all of the edges down and it was much more time consuming because of how stretchy the fabric was.

And from the other side it looks nice and neat :D I added a bow at this point too.

Back on the controller it looked ok but I thought there was much too much black.

Easy fix though, in came the acrylic paint.

Several coats of white later it had a decent base.

I then used pink. Unfortunately I picked a glitter paint which left it texturised. Not my favorite look but it kind of worked. This paint was much too see through so ended up going over it with nail polish for a shiny finish too.

Face plate back on after it dried and then I added some more bows and things… just because :D

To carry it off you really need the attitude though!

Hurray! So now I’m waaay cuter than James when we play! Unfortunately the girl character choices are limited… so my rock alter ego looks kind of like a hooker >_<

And I will totally use my looks against him to win mwahahaha! Take that James!!!

I cut around it leaving a few cm around the edges.

Next went all round the edge and snipped it around the edges every few cm. This was so I could glue it flat around the curves.

One by one I folded the flaps over and hot glued them in place.

This is how it ended up, nice and clean!

I used the same technique to cut out the holes in the middle.

Done!

Lastly I used fabric glue to add little metal findings and bits and pieces to make it a bit more punk-rockish ^_^

So did James like it?

I had a hilarious argument with James over these marshmallows. He was convinced the first time he got the new bubblegum McFlurry that it had some kind of magic bubblegum pieces in it but only the first time he got it, every time after it was regular mini marshmallows. I was convinced that the first time it was just old crappy squished marshmallows XD

These old crappy squished marshmallows proved my point! Take that james!

We tried smoothies which are layered and you’re not supposed to stir them. Advertised as the best juice in Melbourne.

The shop is really cute.

James made super yummy chicken parmigana.

We had some beautifully clear sky days too! I love how crazy the weather in Melbourne is but it’s nice to see the sky sometimes!

They completely ripped up one of the main streets too so the tram lines could be replaced. I’m really glad they’re doing it but all the construction means a lot of road closures.

I found all of my missing photos from the Tsumiki hair event too so you can see the cool waves my hair was in!

So straight! This look makes me want to get off my butt and straighten my hair properly regularly!

I took the time to tailor my trench a bit last week so it’s more fitted. I do need to get around to properly taking it in but I can’t decide whether it would be a lot less effort to just sell it and buy a smaller size. It’s a really nice jacket but I’m not as in love with the cut as I was when I bought it last year.

This outfit was another one I bought on ebay recently. I’ve been on a little bit of a shopping binge  and I couldn’t resist the cute nauticalness.

It’s made of tshirt fabric too so it’s really comfortable!
