I am involved in an 8 week video challenge where this week I am showing you my little video cam. This is the third week of the challenge so that makes this my third video.

I have a little video cam that is about half the size of my index finger and it takes up to 4 hours of video. They actually make another disk that will allow you to take up to 8 hours of video. It is truly amazing the technology they can put into things that are so small…

Isn’t that just totally amazing. It is really fun at different get together’s and stuff. I can take a video and then not know what I really got until I am able to download it onto my computer.

This makes it more fun because you never know what you have. Of course I always have a back up camera for taking really important videos or pictures that I want to be able to see right away in case my shot was not exactly what I wanted, but hey, don’t we deserve to have fun and have a little curiosity in our lives as well.

Anyway, I thought it would be entertaining to share this little video cam with you since I needed to make this video anyway.

That desire would not be fulfilled until several years down the road before an opportunity presented itself. I started driving a semi-truck and trailer going all over the United States. I wanted to see the country and this was a good way of doing that and getting paid well at the same time. I continued with that career for about 13 years or so, when fate decided to jump in, and change the course of my life again.

Let me explain why this changed my life forever. While I was in the process of tarping a load of lumber in the wee hours of the morning, in the dark and in the freezing rain, “all of a sudden”, I was plunging to the blacktop below feet first. After dropping about sixteen feet to the freezing ground below and being taken to the hospital… It was determined that I had crushed both of my heels in the fall and spent several months afterwards in a wheelchair. My doctor told me that I may not ever walk very well in the future, but with determination and a will to survive, I was out of the wheelchair in 6 months. That was 25 years ago and due to the nature of the injury I had received, I was not able to return to driving trucks.

Why was my life being changed again by an outside influence? At the age of 40 years old, I was going back to school. I had been offered a chance at a re-training program that took me another 2 years to complete, in the field of electronics. At the end of my training, I landed a position with a plumbing company to help computerize their business. I had developed some computer skills during my re-training. That was to become my career for the next 22 ½ years, but life was going to throw me another curve that I had totally not expected.

About 2 ½ years ago I was laid off from what I had assumed was a secure job, or so I thought was secure… I was forced into bankruptcy and was on the very edge of foreclosure on my house. I was literally watching the mailbox every day for my foreclosure notices to show up. I decided that something drastic had to happen in my life to get me out of this new situation that was getting worse by the day. So, facing foreclosure on my house, I turned to the Internet for a solution. Why would I turn to the Internet you may be wondering. I had no previous experience at all on the Internet before, but I was just surfing for a way to learn how to get ahead as quickly as possible.

I have been working online now for a couple of years and I am at another turning point in my life. I am in a position where I am able to offer coaching, mentoring, and online marketing training to other people that are searching for a way to get ahead as quickly as possible, same as I was. I had been told by successful marketers for a long time, that to get some personal coaching was the only real way to get ahead in this business. There is nothing like seeing Acapulco from the views you can get from a helicopter

I have a friend and business partner by the name of Jeffrey Earnest that lives in Acapulco and when he sent me these pictures of his hometown, I could not resist sharing them with you.

I love any place in the world that has super clear water. I love getting out in a boat and being able to see to the depths of the ocean. Watch the different multi-colored fish swimming around in plain view.

I have made several trips to the Caribbean, snorkeled in the clear blue waters, water skied in the warm waters, etc.

But I have not been to Acapulco although it is in my not to distant plans to go there. So check out this slideshow I put together for you and I mixed in favorite toy to make it even better.

The background sounds you here are from my 1990 fxstc Harley Davidson motorcycle. I just love the sound that a Harley Davidson makes. I understand that they do not have any helmet laws in Acapulco, which in my opinion is awesome.

Can you imagine the bright blue sky, the wind in your face, with nothing forcing your head back except the extreme power of the machine you are on? Acapulco is a place I will be dreaming about because the weather is perfect for riding year round.

Boy, does that get your travel muscles jumping for a trip to Acapulco or what?

I am definitely putting Acapulco in my travel plans. Now getting my Harley there may be a little tougher, but I bet if I put my mind to it I will get her there.

If you are a person that likes to travel? If you have considered or thought about what it would be like to own a timeshare somewhere like Acapulco or anywhere in the world you would like to vacation if you could just afford it? Then you start doing your research and you find out that it costs anywhere from let’s say $120,000 and up to get into a timeshare that you can use for one week out of a year or every other year.

Then you are stuck to go to that same place every time you wanted a vacation. Plus you find out you have to pay maintenance fees on top of that monthly or yearly, even if you don’t use your timeshare. You might as well stay home as to spend that kind of money, well I mean unless you are loaded I guess, and a dollar is no big deal…

I wanted to share with you “Virgil Cook & My 8 Week Video Challenge”, that I am doing.

I would like to talk about Empower Network and My Experience With It

I signed up for Empower Network, 8 days ago and all I can say is “Awesome”.

Within my first day I had enrolled the first member of my Empower Network team and I am on a roll. I was at a break even point with only my first member… I have never experienced a company with that kind of fast growth potential and more important break even after only one member…

When life hands you lemons, what do you do about it?

Do you go around complaining about everything or do you make the most of it and move on?

There are a lot of people out there that would bore us with their complaints. Bore us with their innuendos about how much it affected them personally. How it created a day where they just could not get anything done…

Here is what I have to say about that!

Let’s take yesterday for example. I was up early like I normally am. I checked my email to see if I had any questions or issues happening with my teams. I was responding to the first email I had come to with a question regarding Empower Network, and as soon as I hit the send button…

What do you think happened?

Yep, your right about that, my Internet connection disappeared. So what did I do? I didn’t know if the email with my response to the question regarding Empower Network had gotten sent or not. I had more emails that I had seen that needed attention as well, but without an Internet connection I could not respond to those questions.

Do you think I went out and spent a lot of time complaining about something that was out of the control of anyone that would hear me? Heck no!

I did what any good leader would do?

I checked my cell phone because I have one of those awesome smart phones and what does an awesome cell phone have? Yep, they have the Internet. Whohoo!

I have had this phone for a long time and all that I had ever done with it was check emails…

Well it is “time to learn some new skills” is what I said. No complaints…I had emails, I had Skype, I had Internet, all I had to do was take the time necessary to learn a few new tricks. After all, we are on the Internet to become leaders so we can help others right?

Well, if that is true then you need to constantly be willing to learn something new every day. And then don’t forget to share what you have learned with others.

Let me get back to what I found when I finally got to my email inbox on my phone. I browsed through my emails and I found that there were several questions regarding one of the new business opportunities I am currently involved with called Empower Network.

OH NO, not another lemon? Why is that a lemon you might say? Well it is a lemon because remember my Internet connection is down, so I cannot go to the website to see if I can resolve their issues. Guess what?

Alright, I finally see the Empower Network URL in my browser on my awesome smartphone and BOOM, I get a message saying “We are experiencing a brief server maintenance issue. We will be back shortly. Thank you for your patience!”

So what do I do?

Do I go out and spend a lot of time complaining about something that was out of the control of anyone that would hear me? Heck no!

Again, I did what any good leader would do. I made every effort I could to inform everyone, not just the people on my team, but anyone that may be having the same issue, of the problem with the Empower Network maintenance issue.

That is what a good leader would do, not waste precious time complaining…you know what I am going to say, right?

The Empower Network site is still down the next day, even as I am writing this post…

I love life!

Don’t ever waste your time complaining about things that nobody has control over. Find something positive that you can use to help others out of what you would normally consider to be a negative thing…

Yep, I lost my Internet connection for a whole day and when I got my Internet connection back, the Empower Network website was down… So what?

I learned how to respond to emails, post on Facebook, communicate through Skype, tweet on Twitter, all from my awesome smartphone that I had only used before to check emails.

When life hands you lemons, do you complain because of not being able to get online from your computer or login to your website…

Travel – Which Is Better A Timeshare, A Rental, Or A Membership Property? 

I don’t know if you realize it or not, but most products that you purchase from an MLM company are usually higher priced than what you could purchase from your local retail store? It is true that the quality and the benefits of the MLM products are most often better…

These products have to be priced higher in order for the distributor that is marketing the products can have the opportunity to create an income. It would be hard to find distributors if an MLM company had to compete with equal pricing don’t you think?

What would you say if I told you there is a company that sells its products for less than the retail stores do? A company that offers exactly the same products only at a substantially lower price. I am talking about 40% to 90% lower than the regular retail stores?

You would probably say that is not possible, how can anyone sell the exact same product for 40-90% less and what kind of product would it be? Is it a product that is in demand? I would have to say, “Yes it is a product that is in high demand.” The product I am talking about is travel destinations.

Did you know that in 2010, just the sales of timeshare properties was a $4.6 billion dollar industry? Did you know that the average price of a timeshare property sold in 2010 was over $16,000 plus maintenance fees? The same properties sold as rentals by companies like Expedia and Travelocity, rented for $2500 tp $4500 and more for just one week.

You may be saying, “Well that is all good and true, but what can a person do to find a better deal?” Yeah, and what about my claim of 40-90% savings from those same rental properties? Let me share some examples with you so you can see what I am talking about. How does that sound?

The first property I will show you is a timeshare at Villas On The Green at Welk Resort in sunny California. This 2 bedroom, 2 bath property has an asking price of $21,500 plus $850 a year maintenance fees for just one week per year.

The second example is of the exact same property as a rental through Welks Resorts of San Diego and it sells for (I could only find a one bedroom) $3440.88 for the dates of Mar 16, 2012 to Mar 23, 2012.

For my third example I will show you that you can get the exact same unit as the timeshare and the exact same dates Mar 16, 2012 to Mar 23, 2012 as the rental except we can get the two bedrooms now through Global Resorts Network.

 So you are probably saying, “How is that possible?” 

This is what I will tell you about that. The same 3, 4, or 5 star properties have to pay thousands and thousands of dollars to advertise those properties with companies like Expedia and Travelocity for example with no guarantees that the properties will even be filled or not at any given time.
