Hello members....we know that you love to surf and earn money for doing so, and we've received several messages from you over the past week asking why there are so few sites to surf.

Well...the answer is simple...it is a system of exchange. The service we offer is advertising. The more advertisers we have, the more sites there are to surf. There are two things that need to happen in order to attract advertisers to our program and keep them here:

People surfing ads (this is what you do).
People referring more people (this is what you need to do more of).

We have a really great community here and it grows larger each day. This means there are more and more people surfing ads. This makes the ads get used up much faster. That is not a problem....and it is actually great news for our advertisers because it means that their ads are being seen by more and more people.

If each of you were to refer just one new member each week we would have many more advertisers placing new ads.

There is one additional option that we are entertaining....and that is to require that each member place a minimum of one advertisement each month. It can be a small ad costing as little as $2.99...but this would ensure that there would ALWAYS be plenty of ads to surf, which would attract MANY more membrers...AND...Many MANY more advertisers.

The Law of Attraction: We Are All Selfishly Oriented!

The word SELFISH is often seen as a bad thing to be. Would you agree?

How many of us, when we were young, were told if we did not do this or that, we would be selfish.

Here is another angle on the idea of being selfish and how it is connected to the law of attraction.

It is good to be selfish. Selfish means taking care of self. We are wired to be selfish in the sense that it is OK to want whatever we want. Those people who say that someone is being selfish are usually saying this because someone is not doing what THEY want them to do. Or they are judging that persons actions from the outside looking in.

Well it is not our job to do what others want us to do. It is our job to be the joyful beings we are meant to be. And this is true no matter what age we are. We are all the center of the universe and the law of attraction is drawing to us all that we have asked for with no exceptions.

Everyone, no matter who, is coming from a place of being selfish. If we see it as a good thing then we can truly understand human behaviour. For example, I do a lot of work on the internet and every day I get told that if I do this or buy that, it will help me. When I truly explore this, most of the time it helps the person who is asking me to do it, more than it helps me.

There was a person recently who wanted me to buy into his friend's new internet program. I must have gotten 30 emails about it over a ten day period. Shortly after the date that the program went off the market, I found out that this person won a new car for being the top promoter of this program. And all of a sudden this person's behaviour made sense to me. All his emails was really him trying to win this new car. It was much more this than the benefit it would be for me.

Why not say upfront, in this case this person could say "I am trying to win this new car and I need your help. Please buy this program, here is how it will benefit you. In this way, you help yourself and you help me." Now for me this would have been a much more open way to market what he was selling. For me it would create a more lasting trusting relationship with this person.

This is just one example but I think if we understand & accept that we are selfishly wired, then we truly can understand more things around us. We can understand the deeper meaning of a persons actions. I have come to see that most everything is economically driven, meaning at the bottom of most things is money. If we understand this, then we can more clearly understand most actions around us.

If we see people as going after what they want and that it is OK and natural to do this, then we will be more knowledgable & understanding of human actions. I remember having a mentor once who I always felt this deep trust with. And when I think back on it, it was because he was so upfront and honest about what he wanted. I always valued that. I would trust him with anything because I knew that he was a man of his word.

So, the main message is it is OK to desire what we desire. And to feel good about what it is that we WANT. We can be, do or have anything we want. This is the nature of the universe and the all powerful law of attraction. If we truly know this and feel this then it is easy to be upfront with others. But if we have to cloak our desires or disguise them by saying, this is good for you, then we are actually mistrusting ourselves and our fellow friends and business partners.

The law of attraction is a manager if you will of all things that come to us. It is the overseer of what it is we attract. When we have no idea how something will come to us, if we will just relax and hand it over to the manager, then we have the energy that creates worlds working on our behalf. Now that is leverage!

Writing SEO Articles - Avoid the Most Common Formatting Errors

When writing SEO articles for submission to article directories it is very easy to overlook some of the most common formatting errors, which can result in either your article being declined, or being published but displayed in a very poor and unprofessional way. In either case it is unlikely that your SEO articles will attract the attention they should, and they may be declined or ignored - neither of which is preferable.

Yet with a few careful checks and precautions it is possible to avoid many of the most common mistakes, helping to increase not only the readability and level of professionalism of your articles, but also the likelihood of them being published in the more reputable article directories.

Microsoft Word Smart Quotes

If you're using Microsoft Word, as many article writers are, then you may be a victim of their Smart Quotes feature. This feature was designed to make speech marks look a little prettier in Microsoft Word documents, by taking straight quotes and making them angled and curved slightly. A reasonably useless feature at best, but the main problem with this is the fact that the symbol is not recognised by any other program, and not compatible with web browsers (even Microsoft's own Internet Explorer!)

This means that if you have included Smart Quotes in your SEO articles, and then submitted them directly to an article directory or published them on your website you'll end up with the Smart Quotes replaced with a lot of gobbledegook (that's a technical word.)

The best solution is to simply turn off Smart Quotes altogether - but don't think this is as straightforward as it sounds. Many people have gone in to the Options menu and deselected the Smart Quotes feature, but doing this once is not enough- you have to switch it off in two separate places! Remember, this is Microsoft we're dealing with!

To switch off Smart Quotes you'll firstly need to click on the circular 'Office' symbol at the top left corner of MS Word, and then select 'Word Options' at the bottom of the menu which appears. Select 'Proofing' from the left hand side of the panel that should be displayed, and then click on the 'Autocorrect options' button.

Now you need to select the 'Autoformat' tab and uncheck the option to replace quotes with Smart Quotes. Once you've done this you then also need to select the 'Autoformat as you type' tab and do the same thing. Remember, you must uncheck the option for Smart Quotes on BOTH tabs for the option to actually be switched off.

Doing this won't change the formatting of existing documents, only newly created ones, so you'll still need to go through previously written SEO articles and SEO content to make sure that these silly quotes have been replaced with symbols recognised by web browsers.

Formatted Paragraphs

Although not exclusively a feature of Microsoft Word, this is most typically a problem caused by using this software. Very often when you start typing a new document in MS Word the paragraph formatting will be set as 'Normal'. This is a slightly misleading format name, since the paragraphing is anything but normal.

In fact you'll find that by pressing 'Enter' once to create a new line break, the software will add an extra half line's space. This makes it look as though your paragraphs are beautifully spaced, but this is misleading. You'll find out how misleading this is if you copy and paste the text into Notepad. Immediately you'll see all of your line breaks vanish, and your entire text becomes one big paragraph.

However, sometimes it is possible to copy and paste text into a web browser and see it still formatted the same way it was in your original document. Don't rely on this though, because once your article has actually been submitted the formatting will be removed.

To avoid this mistake, make sure that you set your paragraphing to 'No spacing' right from the start, and always press 'Enter' twice to force a full line break between paragraphs.

Hard Line Breaks

Almost all word processing or text based applications used for writing SEO articles include word wrapping as standard. Word wrapping is when the text automatically starts a new line when you reach the right hand side of the page. However, some text editors don't include this feature, and in some cases the feature may be turned off. If you're using an HTML editor to create articles, or if you're using Notepad, you may find that word wrapping is switched off.

On its own, this isn't a problem, but it can cause writers to create a problem. Because if you're writing, and your text reaches the end of the line you may find yourself manually creating a new line. To you, on your screen, the text looks great - no problem at all. Except that those line breaks you've manually added yourself only make the text look right on your screen. The chances are that anyone else looking at your SEO article will have a very hard time trying to read it.

Make sure that you only ever press the 'Enter' key to create a new paragraph - never to simply start the next line, (unless it's a bullet list you're creating).

Punctuation Spacing

This is a huge topic and far too complex to cover in this article. However, as a general rule of thumb you should always make sure that you leave a single space after a comma, full-stop, question mark, exclamation mark, colon and semi colon, but never a space before. Opening brackets should have a single space before, but no space after, and closing brackets should have no space before and a single space after.

Some people believe in a rule that suggests you should leave two spaces after a full-stop. This was true in the old days of typewriters and poor quality fonts, but today such a rule is outdated. Most modern word-processing software automatically adjusts the spacing of words and punctuation, and leaving two spaces is now considered a formatting error.

Special Symbols

This tends to be a problem primarily if you try to include symbols for copyright or registered trademarks. It can also occur if you use formatted fractions, and super numerals such as those indicating a number raised to the power of another, or a square root.

The safest way of ensuring that your SEO articles avoid these symbols becoming unreadable is to write them the long way, so the copyright symbol should be written as (c) and a fraction such as a half should be written as 1/2. In this way you'll be less likely to submit symbols which may be unrecognised by some article directories or web browsers.

Although there are many more pitfalls waiting to catch out the unwary writer of SEO articles, these five areas are the most common ones to watch. As with any SEO article, blog post or other text publication, always proof read very carefully. In most cases you'll spot many of the more common punctuation errors before they do any harm.

Blogs are popular ways to create an online presence for personal and business reasons. You can build a blog for free and begin posting content right away. But, what good is that content if no one is reading it. Here are ten ideas to bring in the traffic your blog needs to survive.

Of all the successful blogs on the Internet, hundreds more have failed. Running a blog is like running a business website. Unless you are willing to put the time in and treat it seriously, you won’t be blogging long.

That is not to say that the failed bloggers weren’t serious about blogging. Mostly, new bloggers aren’t prepared for the work that goes into creating a successful blog. Just building the blog doesn’t mean that people will necessary come to you. You pursue the audience and give them a reason to see what you have to say.

1. Fresh Content – no one wants to visit a blog day after day and see the same posts. Update your blog content at least twice a week. This will be easier if you write several posts ahead of time and upload them at the appropriate times.

2. Article Marketing – the niche you’ve chosen for your blog is one that interests you. If it is interesting you will spend more time doing it. Create content not only for your blog but also to be submitted to article directories. Use the resource box to advertise your blog so people can find you.

3. Social Networking – these sites are everywhere. Join Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo, Twitter or a dozen others and make connections. You can join groups of like-minded people who are also bloggers or entrepreneurs.

4. Viral Marketing – this is where you spread the word about your blog. Talk to friends, family and even strangers. Give out business cards that have your blog address on them.

Effective Use of Traffic Exchanges

Like them or love them, traffic exchanges always seem to get an opinion out of people. Some people can't see the point and others love them to death. Sure, a lot of the time you are only going to find other people trying to punt their opportunity in them and you have to put a lot of clicking effort in to get results but the results we've had have been positive rather than negative. I even like idly surfing sometimes to check out when else there is out there!

As I said before, you need to actually put some effort and time into promoting via traffic exchanges. But then you get what you pay for, and promotion this way is essentially free. So it's best to spend your time wisely and surf several exchanges at once. The best way to do this I've found is with the firefox browser because it allows you to have several pages open at the same time within the same window due to it's "tabbed" browsing. Plus if you store the surf pages of all your exchanges in one bookmarks folder then you can launch them all at once by selecting "Open in Tabs".

So, what works best in a traffic exchange? Personally, I think that the shiny corporate pages of your affiliate and networking schemes may work when that program is new - but surfers will soon gloss over them and not see them after too long. So what is the best option? Obviously you've got to come up with something better!

You'll need some web space to put your files in, but you can get this at very reasonable prices. Then you need to create your advertising. One effective page would be to advertise is one that contains a list traffic exchange referrer URLs! Start to build a downline to earn your credits...

Another effective page is a very simple lead gathering page such as a generic recruitment one or a customer prospecting one. I usually design the first one to be totally company independent so that when somebody contacts me through it I can discuss what's best for them in person. They also get directed to my site afterwards to read at their leisure. Short and sweet, that's the key to effective advertising in the exchanges. You only have around 20-30 seconds to grab someone's attention so come up with something that everybody else ISN'T doing, something amusing or topical.

Don't make you page an excuse to cram in as much as possible with banner adverts everywhere and flashing graphics. That's completely tasteless and you can advertise all your programs separately with a much greater effectiveness.
