सिर्फ़ ७२ घंटे -- एम. टेक्‌. की फ़ाईनल थेसिस जमा करने में।
सम्मानिय गाइड जी के (अनचाहे) लेक्चर और धमकियां सुनने के
बाद सोचा कि ‘चलो अच्छा, अब थेसिस लिखना शुरु ही कर देते हैं।’

पहले लिखने का वातावरण बनाते है फ़िर लिखना शुरु करेंगे। वातावरण
बनाना शुरु हुआ-- सारे रिज़ल्ट्स इकठ्ठे किये गए, बहुत सारे मेरे पुराने
रिज़ल्ट्स थे, जिनसे गाईड संतुष्ट नहीं था; और बहुत लम्बी लिस्ट अभी बची थी, सिम्युलेट करने को।

"थेयोरेटिकल भाग पहले समाप्त करते हैं फ़िर शुरु करेंगे कुछ और" सोचकर कम्प्यूटर पर ‘एक लड़की की तुम्हे क्या बताऊँ दास्तां’ बैकग्राउंड म्युज़िक लगाकर लिखना शुरु किया गया।

पर मस्तिष्क में तो गाईड जी की तस्वीर घूम रही थी। गाना कानो से
होता हुआ दिमाग़ में कुछ इस प्रकार पहुँचता है:

Sirf 72 hrs left for final M.Tech Thesis submission. Guide ji ki lecture & warning sunne ke baad socha ki aaj thesis likhna shuru kiya jaye. Uske liye pura vatavaran (atmosphere) banaana shuru kiya gaya. Saare result collect kiye jinse guide satisfied nahi tha. Also a big list of results was in queue for simulation.

Abb socha ki pahle theorical part hi complete kar liya jaye. Likhna start kiya with a background music “ek ladki ki tumhe kya batau dastan” in my computer. Par mastishq (mind) main to guide ji ki hi tasveer ghum rahi thi aur meeting hi yaad aa rahi thi jisme aaj usne meri neend uda di. Jis karanvas ye geet kaano main se hota hua dimag main kuch iss prakar transform ho raha tha...

Nihar in 'A New World'

So we have Nihar's much awaited first blog. Nihar is very very descriptive in this blog and it is written in such a manner that makes you feel like you are going through it. Well done Nihar!

Here is a warning for the user's who are going to navigate his blog. DON'T PANIC. It's only first three lines and the title which contain Spanish words but after that it flows smoothly. By the way, the words that you come across are

It is typical description of last hours of a rail journey which includes a small portion on retrospection. Most of it looks like he has a story coming up, it's just starting and also he has mentioned this is only first part.

Referring to the last lines, when I came across "...I would call "a feast for eyes"." I thought, ohyeah now starts "the real thing" but perhaps we have different tastes for our 'feast for eyes'. Never mind.

Either people leave you or you leave people. World is a big pandora's box of troubles which doesn't believe in rules that can break. It just warps reality to create an illusion for you.

I haven't lived at any one place, in my whole life of 22 years, more than what I spent in my college at Kharagpur. 5 Years. The Doomsday Clock now stands at 5 minutes to midnight. 5 years is a long time. Years ago when I came to this place, it was a long journey I had embarked upon. And now it all seems so sudden, so brutal.

We make friends and then we leave. This place laughs on me. And I laugh back louder. Our friendship will remain forever.

It hurts me but makes me strong

The unnoticed breath heaving my voice
and the sand of time I held tight
in my palm, It gives me a bruise
I weep inside and pray
Who do I hurt when I go away? Who
The man who smiled at me
or the girl who had so much to say
or the towering light that showed me the way.

And then I cry
regretting all the things I couldn't do
stopping at all the trees which didn't flower
And all the long roads I didn't take
crossing the shortcuts instead.

The Blackout

It came a third time in my life. I would like to call it Near Life Experiences. Someone said to me a few days back. Optimism oozes out of me.

9:30 AM (-0330 hours)
Woke up from the knock at my room's door. Sachin had given me 15 minutes to be ready for the Kolkata trip. We had planned a darshan at Dakshineswar Temple. Hesitant but knowing there was nothing much to do during the day, it took me about 40 minutes to prepare myself and reach the gang with Nari and Sachin. Varun & Nammo, Vasundhara & Bhaiya had eaten some grub and were waiting for us.

"Mujhe bhookh lagee hai. Bahot saara khaana khayenge."

Bright sunny day with cool breeze and a Sumo speeding on the highway. A perfect day for travelling. With Nammo and Varun, it wasn't the perfect place to be at the back seats of the Sumo. I should have left the couple alone. But habits as they are do not go away that easy. And I was happy with the bright cool day, thinking of starting a new life.

"Aaj se ek nayi zindagi ki shuruaat karte hain."

Nammo is cute...

It may be attributed partially to the feeling that a pretty girl was sitting in front of me with a guy who is one of my dearest friends. Ate at Sher-e-Punjab. Nice Masala Dosa, Sambar Vada and loads of laughter.

12:30 PM (-0030 hours)
And we reached Vasundhara's Place. Everything was as planned. I felt sleepy. Slept on the floor watching television. Sachin was hopping channels.

"Yahan ESPN ya Star Sports nahin aata hai".

Vasundhara dressed pretty for the doctor. She was running a viral for the past three days. And we started to move ahead with our busy schedule.

01:00 PM (0000 hours)
Descending the stairs, as I moved on the second flight and the third tread, my $100 Adidas shoe slipped. Along with the shoe, I slipped too and went on slipping for the next 7-8 treads. A few bruises. And I stood up.

"Abey ye camera dekh toh chal raha hai na."

I gave my $350 camera to Sachin asking him to check it, gave a glance at the fateful shoes and sat down on the stairs.

"Sab kuch theek hai. Everything is fine."

Holding my head in my hands, I sat there. And then BLACKOUT.

I don't remember anything except the last few seconds before I woke up when everything was dark for me and then the sudden realisation that someone was trying to wake me up. Varun screaming.

"Himadri saans le saans le....".

For a moment I felt as if I had woken up from a dream. And then the sudden realisation that I had fallen down the stairs. A smile on my face. I had no idea of time.

"Uff. Kitni der tak tha yeh."

They say it was for about 30 seconds. I hugged Varun hard. I will never forget that moment all my life. The blood that couldn't flow in my brains for 30 seconds. And then the flow again pumping me with a new life.

Well they are smart and cute too....

We went on to watch an equally depressing movie. Life in a Metro. But I was happy at the feeling of atleast watching something. Compensated it with a drive to Dakshineshwar Temple.

And me naah.. I am a donkey

Heard the Arti bells. And waited in line for the darshan. One stop spiritual enlightenment. I talked to God and waited. He didn't reply to a few of my questions. Said, "Maybe next time." Ate at Pizza Hut. Four courses in a record time. We were hungry, very hungry. Waited on the road divider on the benches clicking photographs of Nammo and Varun, Nari and Sachin, myself and .... Bhaiya came and we left for Kharagpur. The taxi driver drove as fast as he could. But the night wasn't just any other night. It was the first night of my new life.

I talked with Nammo. Infact, she talked and I participated. She is so lovely, you need to just wait and listen. I will blog about her sometime. The tyre got punctured and we had to wait for more than 3 hours on the highway. Nari slept on the highway floor, Varun slept in the trunk, Bhaiya slept on the front seat, Nammo in the middle seats.

Me and Sachin didn't sleep. Because we had a lot on our minds and also because there was no space left. Sachin clicked 183 photographs from my camera. And I recorded a few monologues on my voice recorder. Mine were really careless and his photographs were really good. Finally, after a frustrating night for a new life, we left to cover the rest of the distance. We reached Kharagpur when the next tyre got punctured. We took another taxi but were stuck at a railway crossing. Waited for the goods train to pass. Next railway crossing. Stuck again. Leaving the couple behind, Sachin, Nari, Bhaiya and me crossed the tracks and reached IIT Gates, my door to salvation, attainment of nirvana.

Thinking about the happenings of my two lives, I realise a few things have changed. One thing that hasn't changed is me and my friends who will be a treasure to me forever. The blackout was a small incident and will be so unless I blog about it and make it something big in my life. Afterall, I had two more blackouts earlier in my life. It is not something that has never happened. But these friends have happened to me for the first time. I love you guys.

I have always shied away from posting photographs on my blog. I will from now on. I have nothing to fear.

Ba Ba Black Sheep: Punishing Innocents
(On Nehru Hall GC Massacre)

Black sheep: noun – A member of a family or other group who is considered undesirable.

It was the happiest moment for Nehru Hall of Residence; they won all the three Golden Championships (GCs) that IIT Kharagpur offers for best performance in sport events, social and cultural events and technical events. They got over excited and showed off their joy in some what non-sober sense by entering into some other hostel and ridiculing them, which resulted in some dhishum-dhishum and few noses and few legs got broken.

Obviously Nehru-ites were liable to punishment, a punishment that reminds everyone not to enjoy happiness by break opening some skulls. So IIT barnstormers, uh sorry, brainstormers came up with two decisions – one, not give them any of the GCs; two, not to allot Nehru Hall to any of the new students.

First one is none of my concerns but still I think it is wrong. How easily can you scrap their one year’s fight and probably their future glory of winning three GCs alone just based on one incident which is very common in school lives? You, surely, can come up with a better punishment than that. You could ask them for an open apology to the suffered hostel or you can give them title of winner of three GCs but don’t give them the cups or give them the cups colored in black.

Whatever, it is not what bothered me much.

What made me think pity on their decision is the second part of it. No first year is going to be allotted Nehru Hall. What does that mean? To jury, it is probably a way to stop new talents going into Nehru Hall, but to second year students it is a pain spanning one year. Now, since no first year student will be allotted Nehru, more students will be allotted to other hostel. The problem is that all hostels already crumbling with students out numbering the rooms; and banning one hostel from taking new students means testing the collapse limit of other hostels’ facilities.

This decision will force more students to live with another roommate in a room optimized to live one student. (There is a possibility of putting four persons in double rooms.) Imagine a situation when one hundred and fifty students have to live in rooms which are not even sufficient for accommodating hundred.

I ask a question, who would suffer then? Nehru-ites, who are responsible, or first years, who think it’s a nice place to live…. and learn. Is it Nehru Hall which will suffer water shortage or other hostels who will have to carry one and a half times more people than the designed for?

The question is how long we will be treated as sheep? How many times will we be following the mob? Is there a black sheep (or lamb)?

7ou are not a skilled programmer (but never stopped boasting about 7our programming skills), 7ou have some twent7 da7s left in 7our graduation and 7ou find out 7our ke7board has got a non-adjustable vital ke7 fucked-up. What would 7ou do? (Especiall7, when all 7ou do on 7our computer is chat, read blog and search porn.) Bu7 a new ke7board! Naah!

(7ou must have guessed that the ke7 I am talking about is ‘y’, I had nonfunctional left control, tab and left shift, alread7.)

Probabl7 7ou’ll program some redundant ke7 like ‘tilde’ to print ‘wai.’ Being Mechanical Engineer b7 academics, I chose a ke7 which is close to ‘wai’ and look somewhat like it. I got ‘7’ and fitted a mechanical linkage between them. (Click the image to see it.)

I programmed m7 computer mechanicall7 to print a s7mbol (seven) for a mechanicall7 unprintable letter (‘wai’).

PS. I used same ke7board facilit7 to t7pe m7 sevent7 pages long thesis, then cop7 pas7ted ‘wai’ for each seven from a website using MS Word’s search and destro7 tool. So it is not alwa7s ‘kewl’ to program mechanicall7, some time it sucks.

What is the idea behind Virtual Wing?

Virtual Wing is created to develop an on-line community similar to a hostel wing. In Virtual Wing authors can write anything; their daily life incidents, their Views / comments on anything, their ideas and plans and hey, author can ask for help and support. (We hope the community can help you to get out of the shit in same ways your wing-mates used to do!)

The blog is meant to share ideas, life, views and creativity of young people who just entered in real life from their academic life.

It can be one line comment on bikini scene by Bipasa Basu or a hundred page long your love letter of unsuccessful love.

How am I benefited?

It is a bounded community; authors are young graduate with a lot of ideas and new experience. They are very impatient to make an impact on the world.

What you get is knowledge in advance. You will know how the world is going to take shape in next five year or probably you can meet next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs before others.

Can I be expelled?

Rarely!

First of all thanks a lot to the administrator for making me part of this blog community. I know he is going to pull my legs for being so formal.
As a first note I don't know keeping what in mind this name has been chosen for me its like someone who wants to fly, reach the unlimit of sky but has no wings. So he choses the deermination, willpower and the love and guidance of his friends as his virtual wings. So hope this community acts as another source( among many others) for being in touch with eachother. Hope all of my friends achive great height and success and make ours WINGS stronger. Thankyou all and my best wishes and love always with you.
NOTE: As per my behaviour I start everything with great energy but it dulls with time as I find it boring. But I will try to be regular on this blog.

Click on '+New Post' link on your dashboard. You'll come to a page looking more or less like image#1. (open this image in new window because you'll need to refer it a lot until you finish this post.)

Image#1: Introduction to Blogger Editing Tools

The best strategy to post a story is to first write it in Microsoft Word with all the colors, links and fonts; and then post it directly in edit area.

Blogger supports MS-Word script so what-you-see-is-what-you-get (wysiwyg), check few line alignments, adjust gap and click preview button to see how it look. Unsatisfied? Click compose tab edit it until you get satisfactory result then publish.

Don't want to use MS Word?

1. Text: Start writing in edit area. (see image #1)
Make sure that you are writing under compose tab. (label#1 in image#1)
As you can see it is user friendly edit environment with button very similar to MS Word.

For new users (refer image#1):

Label#6 is title. Whatever you write here comes as header of your post. And goes in side-bar as a link.It is a good practice to keep title short and relevant.
Label#5 is to change font style and size.
Label#7 is to change color.
Note that short-cuts like ctrl+b, ctrl+i can directly toggle bold and italic respectively. You don't need to raise your elbow always to change eshtyle.

2. Image: To add an image to your blog. You need to know three things; one, address of the image you are going to upload; two, position where you want to put the image in the post and third how large image do you want to appear in the blog.

click on image icon to upload a photo. See image#1 label#3.
Once you've uploaded the photo, it appear at the top of your post. Just drag and put it wherever you want to put it in the post.

if you think image is too big or too small, drag-resize it to desired size. Don't worry. It doesn't alter the size of originally uploaded image. You can still click the resized image to see full size photo. As you can do with image#1.

3. Linking and Labeling: You may wish to refer your reader to refer some page. Writing web address directly in Edit Area doesn't make it a link (so sad!). To add a link you follow the procedure given below:

Select the text you want to make a link.
Click button#8 in image#1. A dialog box opens.
give the desired web address here. click OK.
DONE!

See image#2 for explaining image. It is a good habit to go in "Edit Html" tab and provide image an Alternate name, in alt attribute.

Don't use vague categories like road, scooter, sky.

Don't use categories which are too specific like white underwear, one night with miss infy or anything like that.

Try to limit yourself in existing Label (which can be seen by clicking "Show all" link.) but good new label are encouraged.

Signup Procedure

Here is how:

(Assuming your request has been accepted.)

1. You'll get an e-mail from Blogger.com saying click a given link. Click it.

2. It will ask your Gmail-ID to sign in with. I suggest you do it using your Gmail-ID which you use frequently because every time someone comments on your post this is the only way to get notified.

If you do not have a Gmail ID create one - you can see an option saying sign-up Gmail or something like that.

3. Once you logged in, you can see dash-board, where you see links like add new post, edit profile etc.

To log in next time, open www.blogger.com, sign in new blogger account (using your Gmail ID that you entered during blog sign up.) and hooray, you can post now!

Membership Criterion

You are a loving member of utopia wing of RK CGE, however this is not a necessary or sufficient criteria.
You write your experiences sometimes, and you want others to know about your life.*
You don’t write, but you are strongly willing to write something interesting. All you need is a platform, few critics and audience other than yourself.*
You read.
You’ve your view on what you read, see, listen, touch, smell or taste; and are ready to put it in front of others. *
(To ensure you comment on others’ writing!)
You are a gorgeous woman.

Post Materials

Anything and everything that, you think, might interest someone other than you is eligible to put on Virtual-Wing. There is absolutely no bounding on what you post until Google accepts it. But be ready to get criticized for lousy material.

Here are few things which should not be posted.

Anything that hurts other authors’ feeling.
Explicit sexual, gore and community specific contents.
(However, everything in moderation is acceptable.)
Advertisements. However, product analysis is welcome.
Hidden cam image of the member gorgeous woman.

New Member

We would be very happy to add you as a member of virtual wing. Mail any of the authors; we are keen to welcome you. There are a few criterions.

You fit in any of criterion which are star marked.
You can write, at least, in one of the English (preferred) or Hindi language.
If own already own a blog, you can send its address to any of the authors. This is instant method.

Expulsion Criterion

We never expel, except for cases when you

Do not post or comment for more than nine months.
Post banned materials (repetitively).
Personally offense.
Fake your identity as a gorgeous woman.

Contribution

You can make this place an enriching experience, if you can contribute in following ways.

Attract talented writers.
Put suggestion and criterion. (mail to Admin)
Put useful things like materials which attract big population. (There are things beyond sex, which attract people.)
Attract gorgeous woman to be an author.
