The Partnership for Quality Medical Donations (PQMD) Mapping Tool is the result of a project which combined Google Map technology with the information management system from VisionLink, Inc.'s Tapestry Software Suite. The Tapestry system will help manage large amounts of donations and shipments ($4.2 billion last year) of resources to nearly 150 nations around the world.

The PQMD Mapping Tool, now available at www.pqmd.org, provides unprecedented access to information about the medical product donations being made by humanitarian organizations, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers to the world's most vulnerable populations. Lori Warrens, PQMD Executive Director, said, "The PQMD Mapping Tool enables us, for the first time, to bring donation statistics to life by visually transporting the user to the locations, the organizations and the people benefiting from these donations." Read the full PQMD press release. This project was funded by a grant from the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of American (PhRMA) and developed in partnership with Loma Linda University Health Geoinformatics Program and International Aid, Inc.

Volunteering for Disaster Relief -- VisionLink Software Developer Ends Up Using His Own System

Boulder, Colorado -- June 19, 2008 "It was great to see firsthand - from a volunteer's perspective, how our software gets used in the real world, helping communities stay informed and organized, especially in a situation like this." - Zac Sackrison

Zac Sackrison, Senior Web Developer for VisionLink, the leading supplier of disaster management software, recently volunteered for the United Way in Larimer County, Colorado. Larimer County was the scene of destruction after a tornado touched down several times on its way through nearby Colorado communities. Sackrison phoned his church and graciously volunteered to help. Through his church, Sackrison learned the United Way was looking for volunteers to help manage incoming calls. Sackrison contacted the local United Way and was placed in the Larimer County 2-1-1 Call Center.

Call center staff member Jenne Snelling, trained Sackrison on the basics of performing call-center operator tasks including caller information, intake of donations of time, money and food, shelter resource referral for victims, and more. Each call was to be entered into the 2-1-1 Call Center online system called Tapestry™. Coincidentally, Sackrison was a lead software developer for the system he was about to use.

The moment of truth had arrived - would the Tapestry 2-1-1 software perform in real-life how Sackrison had envisioned it? He decided not to "reveal his true identity" in hopes of getting the typical volunteer experience. Upon entering the data collected into the system he helped develop, Sackrison discovered a few repetitive tasks and knew he could make a difference streamlining caller intake and referral. The Call Center did an excellent job responding to the high call volume and needs of their clients with an efficient information and referral process.

VisionLink's web-based management suite, Tapestry™, supports I&R with client intake and referral, call management, reporting, and resource directories designed to hold detailed descriptions of the programs and services provided by community, social, health, and government organizations. While assisting people in disaster and crisis situations, I&R Specialists need comprehensive, searchable directories at their fingertips - Tapestry provides them with this cross organizational and community capacity.

In addition to 2-1-1 and I&R solutions, VisionLink supports customers nation-wide in disaster response, homeless management, elder care, crisis hotlines, and other collaborative needs. National clients include the American Red Cross, Coordinated Assistance Network (CAN), Lutheran Disaster Response, United Methodist Coordinated Disaster Response, as well as many statewide United Way led 2-1-1's and regional and local call response centers.
Tapestry and LifeNet's Suicide Prevention Hotline Call Center featured on NBC's Today Show

Boulder, Colorado -- February 20, 2008 "Suicide rates are soaring among middle-aged people in America, " says Dr. Nancy Snyderman, NBC Chief Medical Editor for the NBC Today Show. LifeNet, a suicide prevention hotline and crisis intervention program, is working hard to address this issue. Their solution is to provide convenient 24/7 telephone access to people in crisis and also to refer people to appropriate treatment resources. Tapestry software is helping them do so.

Counselors at LifeNet's Suicide Prevention Hotline in New York City are doing whatever they can to save lives. LifeNet's call center, one of 128 centers around the country that comprise the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Network, uses Tapestry software solutions by VisionLink to assist those in crisis situations. Using the Online Support Assistant module, the call response team tracks calls and provides much needed resources.

MHA of NYC Associate Executive Director Gerald McCleery says, "Mental health crises do not happen on a planned schedule. Having trained counselors just a phone call away, available around the clock, seven days week helps us to respond to needs whenever they occur. It is important that we have a comprehensive, searchable resource directory at our fingertips in these situations. Tapestry provides us with that capacity."

LifeNet is a program of the Mental Health Association of New York City (MHA of NYC). MHA of NYC is a private, not-for-profit organization that works to change attitudes about mental illnesses, improve services for children and adults with psychiatric disabilities, and promote mental health in the community through its direct service programs. LifeNet is MHA of NYC's award-winning crisis, information and referral hotline.

VisionLink, Inc. Launches National Breakthrough Network with Ten Sites

Boulder, CO - May 1, 2007 - VisionLink, Inc. announced today the selection of ten sites to participate in a national network of community organizations who seek to improve local service delivery through data exchange. VisionLink is the national leader for community resource management software.

Today's launch of the National Breakthrough Network is a direct response by VisionLink to bring participating communities from across the country together to share information to increase the capacity of service delivery. The Breakthrough Network will be driven by participant ideas and questions, the things that really matter to each community. Network members define the agenda--the content and the voice. VisionLink provides the intersection of thought and practice through virtual and face-to-face meetings.

The ten network sites will benefit by deepening their knowledge and expertise, interacting with peers from across the country to learn strategies and effective practices, helping each other solve problems, and gaining a place to feel connected rather than isolated in silos where the wheels are constantly re-invented.

VisionLink benefits by learning first hand about the needs of their clients and about trends and best practices in the field. VisionLink will measure community and Network success in the following 5 areas:
•	Engaged partners
•	Coordinated data and services
•	Maximized resources
•	Measurable impacts
•	Clients well-served

The National Breakthrough Network includes Baldwin County United Ways/VOAD (AL), Colorado 2-1-1 and HMIS, First Call for Help (NW Florida), 4People (Eastern WA), Mental Health Association of NYC, Odessa Links, Pocono Healthy Communities Alliance (PA), Safe Horizon (NYC), United Way of Abilene, and the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra.

"The opportunity to interact in a quality, structured environment with other organizations would have immense value to us. I'm sure that we are all trying to solve many of the same problems, but 'in a vacuum'. This makes great strides towards framing the work - not the product we use to do the work," said Kelsey Piechocki, vice president United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra.

Network members will be able to learn from one another as well as teach each other various skills and lessons. VisionLink will be the backbone of this initiative as host and facilitator so customers may benefit from the network as much as possible.

VisionLink, founded in 1996, is a rapidly growing national corporation based in Boulder, CO. VisionLink provides both technical and consulting solutions to clients across the country like the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, the United Way of America, the National Coordinated Assistance Network, and many state and local community, educational and social organizations.

Arizona 2-1-1 Information Center Celebrates

Boulder, Colo. - July 11, 2006 - VisionLink joins in the celebration of Arizona 2-1-1 Information Network's one-year anniversary on June 29, 2006. VisionLink's Tapestry program allows the state of Arizona to provide up to the minute information on disaster relief organizations, road closures due to natural disasters, and health and human services, among other information.

Tapestry is VisionLink's first product and its most successful due to the wide range of options it supports. Ranging from 2-1-1 and Information & Referral services to Homeless Management, Tapestry allows various organizations and agencies across the nation to communicate efficiently, effectively, and quickly.

VisionLink's products are developed with room for flexibility to match the needs of each client, allowing personalization on each website. With its consultation program and technology support, VisionLink covers all grounds before and after the sell.

The government of Arizona realized the potential with Tapestry and has developed a 2-1-1 system, which utilizes multiple services within the program. "The benefit of integrating social service and disaster preparedness information is that through regular use, the information is kept fresh and available and people know where to look for it," says Douglas Zimmerman, president of VisionLink. Combining social services with disaster preparedness places the important emergency information in one spot for ease of use and access.

When the fire season hit in Arizona Tapestry allowed both citizens and public helpers to call in a centralized network to receive the most up-to-date information about road closures, evacuation plans, and other helpful information. After Hurricane Katrina hit the 2-1-1 networks helped find people who had been relocated to Arizona more efficiently.

With its rapid success in the first year, serving over 200,000 people, the next step in the Strategic Planning process is to be implemented. This involves the set-up of statewide call centers to help citizens every day, outside of disasters and emergencies. Mr. Zimmerman claims "the agile, responsive technology that serves as the basis for the information system and Web site is the ideal platform for future stages of development." The accomplishment of such an innovative networking system shows VisionLink's dedication to its clients, society, and the future of the industry.
