It’s common knowledge that drinking water and keeping hydrated is a great way to keep your skin looking great. But what many people fail to realize is that, by adding nutrients and essential ingredients to your water, you can get double the benefit from drinking enough water. There is a new trend in the beauty supplement world of drinking beauty drinks to keep the skin hydrated, but also to infuse active ingredients into it in improve its appearance and perhaps even to reverse the signs of aging. Different drinks serve different purposes, and there are plenty of different purposes to choose from.

Some of the most popular ingredients to include in beauty drinks include ceramide, hyaluronic acid, and collagen. Collagen is the fibrous protein in our skin that keeps it elastic and firm. There are also many topical skin treatments containing collagen, but the simple fact of the matter is that collagen molecules are too big to be absorbed through the skin. But by taking it in orally, it can be directly absorbed through your gastrointestinal tract to your skin, where it can add to the collagen that your body already naturally produces in order to keep your skin looking youthful.

Hyaluronic acid is quickly becoming a much desired and demanded ingredient in these beauty drinks. This acid can actually stimulate the natural production of collagen in the skin. This active ingredient can be applied directly to the skin, but it’s all the more effective if you apply it topically and supply an internal infusion of the acid as well. By drinking it in with water, you can see multiplied benefits to your skin. This two-pronged approach to making sure that you get enough hyaluronic acid to significantly improve the look of your skin is far more effective than one approach alone.

Ceramides are also a popular ingredient in these beauty drinks. They are a family of lipid molecules that are found in high concentrations in cell membranes. These lipids can help to maintain the integrity of a cell so that it forms an effective, protective barrier against pollutants and also helps to retain moisture so that your skin stays hydrated longer. Couple that with the hydrating power of water, and you’ve got a wonder-team that will keep your skin looking smooth, soft, and firm, just the way it should look. Using a beauty drink in conjunction with a regular skincare routine is a must.

Looking for some help in developing herbal formulations? Find out how our formulation team can help with your product development

Are You Looking For Help With Herbal Formulations? We Can Help

“The formula for success starts with a good formulation.”

This may sound self-evident, but it can’t be said enough.

Sure you need good marketing materials and distribution channels. But first you need a good formulation.

Because good herbal formulations lead to satisfied customers. And the most precious business asset you can have is a bunch of satisfied customers who will continue to come back to you and refer you to new customers.

As any good marketer knows, the real money is in the return customers.

For that reason, developing your product is an important step in your business. And your manufacturer can play a significant role in this.

Your manufacturer has . . .

The expertise to turn a concept into a real live product. It’s one thing to like the idea of a healthy energy drink. It’s another to turn it into an effective and safe formula that’s easy to take, pleasant to look at . . . and even tasty.

The understanding of the market to help you tweak your initial concept. We work with hundreds of companies, scour the trade magazines and are constantly on the lookout for emerging trends as well as rock solid oldies but goodies. We can help you analyze your market and tailor your product accordingly.

A good manufacturer comes with a good formulation team who can help you start off on the right foot as you enter the market. And help you tweak and refine your product as you grow.

In addition to the two qualities mentioned above, our team, headed by a chemist with a Ph D in organic chemistry, brings these other factors into developing a good recipe for your herbal product.

We help you avoid costly and time-consuming legal problems by giving solid advice on proprietary ingredients, trademarks and other legal issues linked to formulation.

If you’d like to model your product on another company’s top-selling product, our chemist can work with you to adjust the formulation appropriately. He’ll make it uniquely yours, yet still performing as well as – if not better than – the prototype.

If you already have a formulation, we’ll go into the finer details with you. We’ll work with our suppliers to incorporate the highest quality ingredients available within your budget in order to optimize your formula.

With over 3000 ingredients in stock, many formulations can be put quickly into production. If we don’t have your ingredient on hand, our network of suppliers will help us secure it in a timely manner.

And with our full array of delivery systems, you can design your product the way you want down the last detail.

But before you jump into developing an herbal formulation, there are a few considerations we suggest you think about first . . .

The Costs Of Copying Herbal Formulations

Many a time, we have customers bring us an existing product sold by another company and ask us to copy it.

First of all, if it’s a proprietary, trademarked formula, we can’t do so by law. We can work with it as a model. But we’ll have to vary the ingredient concentrations enough to make it a new formula so you won’t infringe on any trademarks.

Secondly, reverse engineering a formula takes time and money. Many companies develop proprietary formulas so they don’t have to list the exact amounts of certain ingredients on the label. They only have to list the ingredients according to concentration. Not specifically in milligrams.

Yet even that information falls far short of an exact formula. To find out exactly what forms of an ingredient and how much of an ingredient is being used can cost anywhere from $200 to $20,000.

Finally, you have the added costs of stability testing that can add thousands of dollars more to the final tab.

Even with these expenses, creating your own custom formulation can be worth it. You may have done the research and market assessment to know that this custom formula is critical for your business’ success.

On the other hand, many people overlook a simple way to get around the expense of formulation and leapfrog over some of the hurdles in building your nutrition business . . .

A Smart Cost-Effective Alternative To Custom Herbal Formulation

Private label products are products made using one of the hundreds of stock formulations we carry. We have already done the formulation and stability testing. Better yet, we’ve developed these formulations based on market research. We know these formulas sell.

And finally, these products usually take less time to manufacture since we keep most of the ingredients in stock.

All you have to do is develop your own unique product name, put it on a label and start marketing it.

For many businesses taking the private label route is the best way to start their nutritional supplement business – or grow an existing one.

If You’d Like To Produce An Herbal Formulation, Start Off On The Right Foot

Despite the advantages of stock formulations, you may still prefer to move forward on your proprietary formula.

Indeed, many breakthrough successes in this industry have come through the development of new and innovative combinations.

If that’s the case, contact our account management team and we’ll start you on the path of turning your concept into a working manufacturing recipe.

We’ll help you develop herbal formulations that will change your customers’ lives. And help you grow a thriving business.

Need to get your product to market? The best supplement manufacturers know that timing is everything when it comes to building your business.

Desperate To Get Your Product To Market On Time? The Best Supplement Manufacturers Know That Timing Is Everything

There is nothing worse than waiting for a new shipment to come in so you can fill waiting orders. The unsavory flip side of many a successful marketing campaign is a lagging inventory.

Time is of the essence. Customers are bugging your customer service reps, asking when they’ll get their product shipped – even canceling orders and switching to your competitors.

You can’t afford to wait an extra three weeks to get a new shipment in.

Consider the experience of one of our newer customers.

A promising sports nutrition company, they had built their business around a product formulated with a specific ginseng extract. Business had been steadily growing based on their pleased customers and sharp marketing.

However the production side of things was not so well-managed. Unbeknownst to them, sources of the ginseng extract that distinguished their product had been drying up. And unfortunately, their manufacturer at the time had not been keeping tabs on this development and looking for a new and reliable source.

When it came time to restock their inventory, their manufacturer was unable to manufacture their product because of this one elusive ingredient.

Without the product in stock, they were losing customers. Because of a simple supply chain problem that had slowed their production down, they were seeing their once successful business start to crumble!

Desperate to restock, they contacted us.

Fortunately, we were able to identify a source for the all-important ginseng and take over production. However, it was not without serious costs to their business, including the loss of many customers.

If their manufacturer had taken the extra step to monitor this ingredient’s availability and developed a system to keep it in stock, the owners of this company would not have been pulling their hair out.

“Measure Twice, Cut Once”: Investing Time Up Front To Prevent Problems Down The Line

As this story illustrates timing is everything. Supply chain breakdowns are one of several factors that impact how quickly you can get your product made and into your customers’ hands.

However, it also speaks to the hard reality of this business. No matter how badly you need to resupply your product, there are certain steps that just take time, like ingredient sourcing. And there are steps you just can’t skip.

Be wary of turnaround time promises that are not realistic based on what goes into manufacturing a product.

In general, an initial product run takes about 4-6 weeks from formulation to finished product.

The timing breaks down as follows:

1-2 weeks for sourcing raw materials

1 week for pre-testing of ingredients

1 week for production

1 week for microbial analysis

Shipping

“These time frames are more important to the customer’s first run than they realize,” notes Bret Hoyt Jr. executive vice president of sales at Vitakem. “Throughout the 4-6 weeks our team is working in the background but we utilize this time to work with our customer concurrently.”

This initial investment in time up front allows us to adhere to the carpenter’s old adage of “measure twice, cut once”. Rather than do a production run of 100,000 bottles and find out that the formulation isn’t quite right or the label is off, we prefer to spend a little more time up front making sure that everything is right.

“We have created a flawless step-by-step process in which we work along side the customer allowing him to guide us through the development of his product in which he signs off on each step,” explains Hoyt Jr. ”This allows the customers to give full attention to all essential details in each step of the way throughout the production of their product. And consequently, nothing gets overlooked.”

In addition to the initial planning, testing and consultation, sourcing raw ingredients can consume many hours. This is especially true for the first run when we may have to identify new ingredient suppliers and source ingredients we may not have in stock.

If we have to hunt down unusual ingredients – like a rare botanical that’s highly seasonal – it can take our ingredient sourcing team as much as two weeks to get the material to our factory.

Finally, we need to make sure that all ingredients are pre-tested to ensure safety and accuracy. And we need to test a sample after production to make sure that there was no contamination. These tests are required under FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and take some time to perform.

Speeding Things Up The Second Round

However, we can speed this up a bit when it comes to the next production runs, bringing subsequent runs down to as little as 3-5 weeks.

First we save time on all the back and forth, conferring with you, our customer. The formulation is finalized and the labels are proofed. These steps can be skipped.

When it comes to ingredient sourcing, that big wrench in the works, we’ve done most of the major legwork in the first production run. In that first time period we’ve identified suppliers and even secured enough of some of the ingredients for subsequent runs.

In order to save even more time as well as money, especially if your formulation contains a hard to find ingredient or particularly expensive one, we recommend a simple tactic that many of our customers use:

Provide us with a blanket purchase order for this ingredient. With this authorization, our ingredient sourcers can then stay on the alert for good bargains. We can make sure that we keep that ingredient stocked – even if there are market shortages – and be ready to go when you’re ready to do a production run.

And Yet Another Way To Prevent “Low Inventory Surprise” And The Panic That Can Follow . . .

As noted here, you can save time after the first product run and get your turnaround time down to 3-5 weeks from order to shipping.

Nonetheless, when your inventory is dwindling, even 2 weeks feels like a year. For that reason, we’ve implemented a pre-emptive program that saves both our customers and us a lot of headaches.

Your Vitakem account manager will help you pro-actively manage your inventory and plan runs accordingly.

As part of their job, they will call you periodically to check inventory and schedule runs. Additionally, they will help you assess – based on how quickly you’ve gone through your inventory – whether you should increase the size of your next order.

Put These Tactics Into Play And Make Sure Time Is On Your Side

There are certain factors you can’t change in how long it takes for a product run. And yet you can take certain steps in cooperation with your manufacturer to shave off a few days and prevent supply chain frustrations.

When you work together, communicating about inventory, marketing plans and ingredient supply, you can make sure you don’t run into a quagmire.

As the best supplement manufacturers know so well, you want time on your side. These tactics will help you keep it there.

If you're looking for quotes from several supplement manufacturers, you may be confused by the range of prices. Here's the full story of what's behind the quotes . . .

The Full Story Behind Supplement Manufacturers’ Quotes: 3 Tips For Deciphering Them

When you contact a number of supplement manufacturers for a quote, you expect to end with a pretty clear winner.

The best price wins, right? Well, not necessarily.

If you look a little deeper into what goes into a quote for manufacturing nutritional supplements, you’ll find it’s not a simple numbers game. There are nuances that can make the difference in your product being competitive . . . or a flop.

In fact if you simply go by the numbers, you may miss out on one of the crucial factors for your product’s success – it’s effectiveness and quality. Furthermore, you may also miss out on production savings linked to timing and strategy.

So read on to find out exactly what you should be looking for behind the quotes you get from different manufacturers. By asking the right questions and getting the full answers, you can be sure you’re making the right choice for a manufacturing partner.

Deciphering Supplement Manufacturers’ Quotes Tip #1:
Know The Specifics Of The Ingredients Referred To In The Quote

The nutritional health supplement market is a relatively mature market. Years ago you could blithely offer a chondroitin sulfate supplement for joint pain and people would jump on it. Or launch a CoQ10 capsule and get an enthusiastic reception.

Not any more. While many consumers are still choosing supplements based on price, more are going a step further to compare the quality of ingredients.

They want the ubiquinol form of CoQ10 instead of ubiquinone. They want vitamin D3 instead of any old vitamin D. And they’re going to look hard at what kind of fish you sourced your fish oil from.

Some consumers are even looking for specific branded ingredients. In a recent Nutrition Business Journal article, Mike Bush, VP of business development of probiotic ingredient manufacturer Ganeden Biotech noted that consumers have been requesting research specific to their branded probiotic strain.#

For this reason, as you start to plan how to manufacture your product, you need to take ingredient quality into account. And ingredient pricing can be one of the biggest factors in determining a quote. In fact the price of ingredients can be the sole reason one supplement manufacturer’s quote varies dramatically from another.

So when you receive a quote, find out

What specific ingredients are being referred to in the quote;

What form of the ingredient is being used;

And what distinguishes it from other forms of the ingredient.

Find out if the ingredient is trademarked or not. An ingredient trademarked by a reputable ingredient supplier means that certain quality controls were used in the production, processing, storage and shipment of the ingredient. The ingredient supplier’s name on it means you get the company’s commitment to quality behind it.

Find out what form of the ingredient is being used. The trans form of resveratrol is considered more effective than the cis form. And you can get resveratrol at potencies varying from 5% to 98%. These distinctions make a big difference in the quality and pricing of the ingredient. For example, 50% resveratrol cost about $110 per kilo in early 2011 while 98% resveratrol cost $365 per kilo.

Find out if it is a branded proprietary ingredient. As Suzanne Shelton explains in an article published in NutraIngredients#, interest has resurged in branded ingredients because of the superior research behind them, the carefully developed production process, and their track history.

For example, for the landmark 5-year Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS2), the National Eye Institute bypassed most lutein ingredients to use the branded product, FloraGLO®.# And they’re not the only one, many clinical trials used FloraGLO® because of the research behind it.

However, with these qualities comes increased cost. Sabinsa’s Bioperine® black pepper extract is a far cry from the black pepper you can buy in the supermarket. And it costs a lot more too.

The quality of the ingredients referred to in your quote can make an enormous difference in the final cost.

Deciphering Supplement Manufacturers’ Quotes Tip #2: Quality Isn’t The Only Factor When It Comes To Price

Ingredient pricing varies due to seasonality and other market changes as well.

“Many people do not realize how competitive the raw material market is,” explains Patrick Kelly, Vitakem purchasing manager. “Prices change day-to-day so we consistently have to check prices on different materials because a few cents per kilo can save someone hundreds of dollar on their product.”

If you get a quote from a manufacturer for a product that contains pomegranate extract, for example, the pricing may be different in January (the height of the middle eastern pomegranate harvest) than in August.

Many manufacturers try to buffer these price fluctuations by looking for price drops or sales and buying ingredients in bulk while the price is low. For example, Vitakem stocks $7-10 million in ingredients in order to mediate market changes.

The difference in a quote may be due to this kind of foresight on the part of the manufacturer.

This also means that if you request quotes from two different manufacturers at two different times, you may see a difference in the quotes simply based on the ingredient price changes over that period of time.

Similarly, when manufacturers provide you with a quote within 24 hours, they only have time to use pricing based on previous purchases. Again causing some variance in quotes.

Because of this, if you can wait an extra 2-3 days for a quote, the manufacturer can communicate with several raw material suppliers and lock you in at the lowest price currently possible.

So take into account the difference a day can make . . .

And make sure your quote contains the details about the ingredients referred to in it. It is your right as a customer to know from where your ingredient is being sourced exactly and the specifics about the ingredient.

Deciphering Supplement Manufacturers’ Quotes Tip #3: Know Your Formulation Down To The Milligram

Another ingredient pricing factor also comes into play with the formulation. Many customers approach us with a list of ingredients they want included in a formulation. They leave the proportions up to our formulation team.

The problem with a simple list is that the specific amount of the ingredients used is left out. And this can make all the difference in your quote.

When you receive the quote, you should also get the specifics of the final formulation. Be sure to require that the formulation doesn’t just list ingredients proportionally, starting with the ingredient with the highest concentration. Make sure it is specified milligram by milligram.

Only then can you compare quotes properly. Otherwise, in a sense, you’re comparing apples to oranges.

For example, you may have two different quotes for a formulation containing resveratrol. Both of them may list the resveratrol near the top of the list, indicating that it’s in the mix at a relatively high concentration.

Yet the actual milligrams used in the two different formulations may vary. Even though resveratrol is up high on both lists, one may have 60mg of resveratrol while another has only 20mg. And this doesn’t even account for potency. One could be resveratrol with 50% potency versus a 98% potency.

By just looking at the listing of ingredients, arranged according to concentration, you may not see any difference in milligrams between the two formulations.

The difference between using these two in a formulation can mean the difference of thousands of dollars.

But if you have the formulation broken down milligram by milligram you can see the difference clearly.

Some manufacturers may hedge, saying all they need to provide is the list of ingredients. Don’t agree to this. It is your right as a customer to get the specifics of the formulation you were quoted for – milligram by milligram.

You should always get more information in your quote than just an email with a price.

Use These Tips To Choose The Best Supplement Manufacturer For Your Company

Your company’s success hinges on creating the right product for your market. And to do so you need to choose your ingredients carefully – and your manufacturer.

But when you receive a quote from a manufacturer, it may be hard to interpret what the numbers really mean. These tips will help you get behind the quotes you receive from various candidates. They provide you with the framework for asking the right questions and getting the answers you need to make an informed decision.

Put these three tips to use. You’ll then have confidence that – of all the supplement manufacturers you looked at – the one you choose is working with you to make the best product for your business.

Do you have a GMP manufacturing question? Find out how your contract manufacturer can ensure your company is compliant.

GMP Manufacturing Question: Can You Help Me With Regulations?

As a nutritional supplement company you face several levels of regulation, most of it overseen by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

As your supplement manufacturer we can help you comply with these regulations at two levels:

It is our job to comply with FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) when manufacturing your products;

We can help you ensure that your labels are FDA-compliant.

FDA And GMP Manufacturing

Despite the 1994 mandate for the FDA to establish GMPs and enforce them, the FDA did not start to implement and enforce GMPs until 2007. The last stage of this implementation, affecting small companies and their contract manufacturers, took place in 2010.

Most of the practices outlined in the FDA requirements are practices that many manufacturers already followed. They were simply good business standards. Manufacturers with a core commitment to quality applied these to their procedures long before they became regulations.

Now, even though everyone is required to follow GMPs, manufacturers who already followed industry standards have been able to make a smoother transition to ensure that production meets FDA requirements. Most of the steps are already in place. And the employees of the company already have expertise and a commitment to help maintain quality control.

However, too many contract manufacturers, as evidenced by the number of GMP-related warning letters sent out by the FDA in 2010, were not prepared to make this transition smoothly. Their inability to pass FDA inspections led to major production halts which in turn affected their clients’ businesses.

So when you discuss meeting GMP regulations with potential contractors,

Ask them about their history in using GMPs. Did they use GMPs before the FDA enforcement?

Ask them if they hold internal audits to preemptively improve on quality and safety measures during production.

Ask them what percentage of their employees belong to their quality control teams.

Answering these questions will help you gain an understanding of their commitment to quality and good manufacturing practices independent of FDA requirements. When this core commitment is there, meeting these requirements is easier than ever.

FDA And Marketing

The second layer of FDA regulation affects the language you use to communicate with your customers. Essentially, in order to be classified as a food and not as drugs with the required licensing involved, nutritional supplement companies cannot talk about how their products affect disease.

You can talk about how your product helps support the normal, everyday healthy functioning of the body. But not how your product prevents, alleviates or cures a disease.

Most of the work you need to do to comply with these requirements falls outside of the responsibility of your contract manufacturer. Your marketing materials are where these regulations come into play.

However, there is one area that we can help you on this: Your labels.

As part of our label design services, we can help you develop FDA compliant labels. In fact Vitakem is one of the few manufacturers whose staff took an advanced course offered by the Natural Products Association on FDA-compliant dietary supplement product labeling. (Ask us to see our certificate of attendance.)

And to make it even easier for you to make sure your labels are compliant, we have a special service in place. If you already have a label designed but are unsure of whether it meets FDA requirements, we will assess it for FDA compliance – free.

Not many manufacturers can or do offer this service. But we knew this service was essential for our customers. We’ve seen too many clients, threatened with seizure of their products, forced to relabel thousands of bottles because they were not done right in the first place.

We don’t want to have this happen to you.

A Good Contract Manufacture Takes The Worry Out Of GMP Manufacturing

It can feel somewhat intimidating at first to enter into this industry rife with regulations. You can almost feel the prickle up your spine as you think about FDA inspections.

But in fact the regulations are a boon to this industry. We’ve had a hard time gaining the public trust due to the bad business dealings of a few bad apples. A few miscreants can jeopardize the reputation of the industry as a whole.

And despite the negative media sparked by some of these bad guys, most companies already follow GMPs.

For most manufacturers and supplement companies, in fact, meeting GMP regulations is simply a matter of continuing to follow the same good industry protocols we’ve always followed.

And because of this experience and familiarity with the required practices, we can make your work in this industry easier than ever. If you have more questions about GMP manufacturing compliance, FDA labeling or any regulatory concerns, please contact our account management team.

We’re looking forward to helping you be part of this industry without breaking a sweat over regulations.

Are you a health professional considering developing a business around nutritional supplements? According to this contract manufacturer, supplements is big business these days.

Are You A Health Professional Looking For A Great Business Op?

According To This Contract Manufacturer, Supplements Is A Great Place To Start

By Brett Hoyt, Sr.

If you’re a doctor, nurse practitioner, naturopathic physician, or other health care provider, perk up your ears.

You are in a prime position to tap into a market that’s looking for you.

How do I know? I’ve seen many changes in this industry as a contract manufacturer. Supplements, vitamins, herbal formulations have come and gone. Today, acai is hot – tomorrow it’s green tea. Sports nutrition is hitting hard. Now everyone’s looking for arthritis formulations.

But despite all of this waxing and waning, I’ve seen one consistent trend overall. More and more people are making nutritional supplements a part of their life. And, of particular interest to you, increasingly people are looking to purchase them from a health professional directly.

The Nutritional Supplement Market Is Going Strong

Few industries have the strength and growth potential of the nutritional supplement industry. According to a report released by market research group Packaged Facts, the industry has experienced steady growth even with a recession breathing down its back.

Nine billion dollars of supplements were sold in 2009 in the US alone. From 2005-2009, the market grew by a total of 26%.#

Plenty of factors contribute to this –

Aging baby boomers are looking for ways to stay fit and youthful.

There is a growing awareness and appreciation of alternative health. Notably this is happening within the halls of conventional medicine. More and more hospitals and medical schools are establishing integrative medicine departments and programs.

Increased quality control with FDA GMP implementation and the growing body of research behind nutritional supplements have boosted consumer confidence.

A general trend towards all things natural.

Even the economy has helped.

As people tighten their wallets – many unfortunately losing their jobs and health coverage with the recession – the cost-effective promise of supplements holds enormous appeal. Expensive statins and diabetes drugs are gathering dust on pharmacy shelves as consumers shift their dollars to natural cures and preventative medicine.

“Part of the resiliency of nutritional supplements during this trying economic period stems from the fact that Americans are losing confidence in their ability to pay for healthcare, even as the economy shows signs of turning around,” said Don Montuori, publisher of Packaged Facts in the report’s abstract. “Compared to doctors visits, hospital stays, and prescription drugs, nutritional supplements can be a bargain.”#

Health Care Practitioners: You’ve Got An Edge

Indeed, less people can afford costly surgery or drugs. However, even if they’re looking for alternatives to conventional medicine, they still want an authoritative recommendation for the best nutritional replacements or complements.

For this reason, if you’re a health care practitioner interested in getting into supplement sales, you’ve got an advantage in this already strong industry. Nutrition Business Journal reported that for 2009, supplement sales through health practitioners totaled a whalloping $2.1 billion, far outpacing supplement sales growth overall.

People are much more open to taking nutritional products recommended by their doctor or health provider.

For many practitioners, being able to offer proven, effective, safe formulas to their patients under their own private label is an easy step in expanding their practice.

In fact it may be what saves your practice . . . or what saves you from your practice . . .

Many of our customers who are also doctors, tell us how hard it is spend the time they want with their patients. Like dentists, in essence, if you’re not drilling you’re not billing. If you’re not seeing patients, you’re not charging. And insurance reimbursement levels have only added to the pressure to see more patients.

However, if you can create another source of income through your practice, you can free yourself up so you can

Spend more time with each person who seeks your counsel

Spend more time researching and learning so you can improve your practice, and

Spend more time outside of work with your family, on your hobbies and taking care of your own health.

Selling supplements as part of your business is a wonderful complement to what you’re already doing. And as the Nutrition Business Journal data shows, you’re in a prime position to make this a successful addition to what you’re doing already.

Nonetheless, despite the increasing demand for nutritional products, getting your foothold in the marketplace is not easy. You need to invest time and money to market your products.

The last thing you want to worry about is the production side of things . . .

And that’s where finding a good contract manufacturing partner comes in.

A Good Manufacturer As A Partner Can Make Or Break Your Supplement Business

With the right partner, you can focus your attention on building your business. And rest assured that production part is taken care of.

Better yet, with a good partner you can

Gain product development insights that will help you with your marketing;

Find ways to save on production costs so you can invest more elsewhere and expand more quickly;

Even take care of things like FDA-compliant label design and packaging that can make all the difference in running your business smoothly.

And we offer an additional service that many of the health providers we manufacture for love.

We offer over 200 stock formulations.

Even if you have done the research and would eventually like to develop a custom formulation, starting with a stock formulation allows you to test the waters in a smart way. Stock formulations are cheaper to produce. And in addition, we can manufacture them in smaller batches for you so you can start at your own pace.

And, last but not least, they’re proven sellers.

By starting with a stock formulation instead of your own custom formulation, you can focus on setting up the infrastructure for your new business. You can work out the quirks of adding this service to your practice before you’ve invested heavily in product development.

Find Out How Contract Manufacturer Services Can Help You Start A Supplement Business

Sound like a good route to take? Well, there are still the details to work out. Contact our account management team today and we can help you turn this idea that’s worked for so many of our practitioner customers into a success story for you.

We’ll help you decide which formulations are best suited for your practice.

We’ll help you come up with a sensible number of units to start with.

And we’ll get you going on designing your private label that will identify these formulations as personally recommended by you.

Call us at 1-800-233-2112 to find out how we can help you as a contract manufacturer. Supplements, vitamins, herbs, drink mixes, you name it – we will help you take a solid step towards building your business through nutritional product sales.

Antioxidants have been in health news a lot recently. The more scientists learn about free radicals, the more they’re convinced that we need to take in as many antioxidants as possible. This means that there has been a rise in awareness of vitamins and minerals that act as antioxidants. Vitamin E is one of these vitamins. This vitamin, which is actually a generic term for a group of tocopherols and tocotrienols, is found in many foods, but can also be obtained through fortified foods and through dietary supplements, including most multivitamins. And it’s a good thing that it’s so easily accessible because life would not be pleasant without it.

Vitamin E deficiency can cause irreparable damage to the nerves and cause anemia, due to oxidative damage to red blood cells. It can also cause neuromuscular problems such as spinocerebellar ataxia and other myopathies. It may seem incredible that such a small vitamin deficiency can cause such serious problems, but this is how badly your body needs consistent access to this vitamin in order to continue working as it should. It’s important for your body to keep a good, healthy balance of all the nutrients it requires to stay in good working condition.

The good news is that vitamin E deficiency rarely occurs because of a dietary lack. Such cases are extremely rare. The bad news is that some people have medical conditions that prevent them from absorbing the vitamins and nutrients that are abundantly present in the foods you eat. If you notice that you have been passing greasy or oily stools, then you may have a condition that prevents you from absorbing fats through the digestive tract. This means that you might not be absorbing all the vitamins and nutrients that your body needs to harvest from the foods you eat.

Fortunately, this can be easily remedied. Even those who are getting enough vitamin E in their diet can benefit from taking vitamin supplements that include E amongst other essential vitamins and minerals. Vitamin supplements can provide you with more of the nutrients that your body needs and ensures that you stay strong. Even if you don’t feel that you have a vitamin deficiency, having extra E in your system can keep your hair and nails healthy, contribute to smoother skin, and, some scientists believe, can keep your skin looking younger and fresher. This is certainly a desirable side effect of taking vitamin supplements

Ascorbic acid is probably the most well-known vitamin supplement in the world. Even children have heard of it. It’s easy to find, whether in your diet, as a supplement, or even as a dietary additive in many foods. People believe that it can prevent colds and that it can generally aid in keeping the body healthy. Better known as vitamin C, ascorbic acid is indeed vital to the human body, and has many health benefits. You can get it in many forms; you just have to make sure that you’re getting enough of it to keep your body running in peak condition.

Not getting enough vitamin C in your diet may not cause the most severe symptoms in every case. In ancient times, sailors would get scurvy, a severe form of ascorbic acid deficiency, from the lack of vitamin C in their diets. It was believed to be caused by the lack of fresh food onboard a ship, but it was later pinpointed to the lack of ascorbic acid in the diet, which was easily remedied by supplying sailors with lime juice. But even if you don’t contract scurvy, a minor, but regular lack of ascorbic acid in your diet can manifest as a lack of energy, lung-borne diseases, and a higher risk of heart disease.

On the other hand, if you take ascorbic acid supplements regularly, it can have a positive impact on your health. As you already know, it can decrease your risk of cardiovascular disease and ischaemic heart disease. People who regularly take vitamin C also have a higher life expectancy. It may also be responsible for reducing the risk of cancer in men. And its most important function is probably as an antioxidant. Antioxidants bond with free radicals in the body, stabilizing them, preventing hypertension, cardiovascular disease, inflammatory disease and diabetes.

Getting enough vitamin C in your diet isn’t difficult, but it can take some effort. You’ve got to eat foods that are high in ascorbic acid. Many fruits and vegetables have at least a little ascorbic acid in them. If you want to make sure to get enough ascorbic acid in your diet, then you should take a vitamin supplement that can supply you with all the ascorbic acid that you need in order to stay healthy and keep your body running like a well-oiled machine. By taking care of your body, you’re taking care of yourself.

You wouldn’t have much of an eye if it weren’t for an A. Vitamin A is of vital importance to the health and function of your eyes. This vitamin is needed by the eye to create a specific metabolite that aids both low light and color vision. The vitamin comes in two major forms: retinol is found in animal food sources, and is a yellow, fat-soluble substance. The carotenes, including alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, and gamma-carotene, are found in plant food sources. As omnivores, humans can get this crucial vitamin from either retinol or the carotenes, but the important thing is to get enough of it.

Vitamin A plays a key role in many functions of the body, including vision, gene transcription, immune function, embryonic development, reproduction, bone metabolism, blood formation, skin health, and antioxidant activity. If your body doesn’t get enough of this vital vitamin to perform these functions, then you may begin to experience some adverse effects, including night blindness, which can lead to total blindness if left untreated. Severe deficiency may lead to birth defects, and, eventually, to death. In fact, it is estimated that 670,000 children under the age of five die annually due to a deficiency in this vitamin worldwide.

This is particularly tragic when you consider how simple it can be to get enough vitamin A in your diet. It’s found in common foods like liver, butter, milk, carrots, sweet potatoes, broccoli, spinach, cheese, cantaloupe, eggs, mangos, peas, and apricots. Most children who suffer from deficiencies of this vitamin simply don’t have access to fresh fruits and vegetables in their diets. And, in cases like these, it’s easy enough to find vitamin supplements that can make up for any deficiency in fresh fruit. It’s a comfort to know that the occurrence of this deficiency is largely under control in the United States.

You can make sure to get enough vitamin A in your diet and into the diets of anyone you care for simply by making sure to create a diet rich in foods that contain retinol and carotenes. But, just to make sure, it’s also a good idea to take vitamin supplements, including A, on a daily basis to make sure that you’re getting enough. If you’re pregnant, you should be careful not to exceed the daily recommended dosage, as it may cause birth defects, but you should still make sure to get enough in your diet.

The first item in any list is probably an important one. That means that thiamine must be an important vitamin. After all, it’s the first in a long line of important vitamins: the B vitamins. Vitamin B1 is a water-soluble vitamin that is involved in many different cellular processes. It’s of particular importance to the brain and nervous system, as well as the circulatory system. Making sure that your diet contains enough vitamin B1 is an important part of making sure that your body, including your mind and heart, stays in good shape. The human body cannot synthesize its own B1, and must get it from outside sources.

Thiamine is present in a wide variety of foods, but usually in low amounts. This can make it difficult to make sure that you’re getting enough of vitamin B1 by diet alone. Pork and yeast have higher amounts of B1, but most people get this vitamin from grains, since most people get a lot of grain in their diet through bread and other grain products such as oatmeal and breakfast cereals. But, unfortunately, due to the rise in the consumption of fast food and junk food, many people still aren’t getting enough vitamin B1 in their diet.

Getting enough vitamin B1 is crucial to keeping your body healthy, since every organ of the body uses thiamine in its cell metabolism. But the nervous system and heart are at particular risk for damage because they have high oxidative metabolism. A lack of vitamin B1 in the diet can lead to eye fatigue as well as more serious symptoms such as neurodegeneration and wasting, and eventually, death due to organ failure. Making sure to get the B1 your body needs to function is crucial to keeping yourself healthy and happy, and, sometimes, you can hedge your bets by taking supplements.

Most multivitamins contain B1, so that’s a start. You can also get B1 in its own supplement, to make sure that you’re getting enough. Getting enough B1 in your diet is crucial to maintaining your physical and mental health. Taking oral vitamin supplements is as easy way to make sure that you keep thiamine deficiency at bay and keep your organs functioning at top form. By making sure that your body has enough B1 to function properly, you can make sure that it works the way it should and keeps you going without any problems.
