20 disertantes, 20 minutos, 20 días

 

El congreso se desarrollará en un formato virtual.

 

Se presentarán 20 ponencias en formato de video de 20 minutos de duración, en 20 días.

Cada día se presentará un video y se abrirá un foro de discusión sobre esa ponencia para que los asistentes dejen sus comentarios y puedan debatir entre ellos sobre el tema.

Aunque parezca obvio, los organizadores pedimos revisar la ortografía de lo publicado y cuidar en todo momento las normas de cortesía y respeto para con los demás asistentes o disertantes del congreso. No está mal disentir con otro, pero, si tenemos que hacer una crítica por algo que nos parezca erróneo o desubicado, tratemos de que sea constructiva y cordial, y evaluar si vale la pena hacerla pública o en forma privada.

Los comentarios no son moderados, por lo tanto si leen algo que les parezca fuera de lugar o falto de ética, por favor avisar a los organizadores. 

El primer video con la ponencia que abra el III Congreso se  subirá al sitio el lunes 6 de mayo de 2013.

A partir de allí se subirán las nuevas ponencias cada dos días aproximadamente. 

Se invitará al disertante a participar en el foro de su ponencia.

Los foros permanecen abiertos durante todo el año. 

La participación en el congreso es flexible en tiempo y dedicación. 

Cada participante puede subir en el BLOG material afín a la temática del congreso que desee compartir con sus colegas. También podrán subir otros videos.

 

Importante: Sólo publicaremos material en español. 

Cada participante tiene una página personal (en la pestaña Mi página) en la cual pueden subir textos, fotos personales, comentarios y administrar su propio blog. 

Las Fotos a subir son moderadas, igual que los videos.

Los moderadores sólo aceptarán la publicación de fotos y de textos que tengan que ver estrictamente con la temática del congreso y que no realicen publicidad de productos o servicios rentados. 

Si alguien no respetara las normas será informado por mail, ya que podría haber sido involuntario. Si se repitiera el no respeto de las normas podría ser dado de baja del congreso. 

Para reunirse con sus colegas por afinidad y poder intercambiar ideas o proyectos hay grupos establecidos.

Si desean abrir otro grupo deben proponerlo al administrador del sitio y será creado si es pertinente. 

 

 ¿Cuál es el costo de inscripción para los participantes y disertantes?

 Ninguno. Este congreso es gratuito.

Para poder participar de las videoconferencias y del debate posterior en los foros solamente es necesario registrarse en nuestra web.

 

Al final del congreso a quienes lo soliciten se les extenderá un certificado digital de participante en el congreso, en pdf, que se enviará por mail.

Al dia de hoy (Julio 2, 2010), fecha original para el cierre de registro de páginas de este primer concurso organizado por la revista digital en español de SND "Área-11", el número de entradas o páginas que hemos recibido no corresponde a la cantidad de páginas necesaria para decir que son "Las 100 mejores páginas de la década".
Por lo anterior, se ha decido ampliar el plazo de registro 4 semanas más, teniendo como fecha definitiva de cierre el VIERNES 30 DE JULIO.
Nuevamente se hace un recordatorio que todos los diarios publicados en español, sin importar en que región geográfica del mundo se encuentren, pueden enviar sus entradas, en formato PDF o JPEG, a la dirección de correo eletrónico: concurso-area-11@hotmail.com, especificando los siguiente datos:

+ Publicación

+ Nombre de participantes (máximo 10)



BASES DEL CONCURSO:

  1. Las páginas deben haber sido publicadas entre el primero de enero de 2000 y el 31 de diciembre de 2009.
  2. La competencia esta abierta a periódicos publicados en español en cualquier parte del mundo.
  3. Se elegirán dos páginas ganadoras por categoría, una en formato standard y otra en en tamaño tabloide.
  4. Se recibirá únicamente una página por categoría y por publicación, así que por favor, se recomienda hacer internamente su propia selección.
  5. Se aceptan archivos PDF’s y JPEG’s en alta resolución. Si no tienes el archivo digital y tienes la página impresa, puedes tomar una foto de la
  6. página.
  7. Las páginas serán evaluadas por un grupo de 25 jueces internacionales y destacados profesionales de nuestra industria.
  8. Las páginas ganadoras recibirán un diploma conmemorativo.

A couple things that came out of it: Kyle Ellis got volunteered to spearhead an NYC meetup for SND, and I think I spy rumblings of one in Raleigh, though that development took place away from the #vizedschat hashtag.

Our NPO network has almost 2000 members, including researchers, research students, editors, illustrators, translators, and publishers.

Maybe we need forums for visual editors too. Or maybe not, if people in this area can place themselves at one end or other of the spectrum between editors and illustrators, or at both ends.

In any case, I believe there is a real need for more active attention to the quality of visual presentation in most scientific publications, and our network (the Research Cooperative) could be a good venue for visual editors to promote their work to a very broad audience of people involved in scientific research and publishing.

Any comments on this issue would be welcome, in reply to this message.

An example of how our Internet generation of "Tweeple" or twitterers can interact and partipate directly with print to produce a rare, memorable page 1 -- something done for the first time in Thailand (or anywhere else?) by a newspaper.
The two occasions were Children's Day and Valentine's Day. Days before Children's Day we had invited all twitterers to send in photos of themselves when they were kids, saying that we would publish their photos on Children's Day. What happened next was a virtual flood of photos by people from all walks of life. There were so many that we carried the photos as mugshots on both A1 and an inside page. Likewise, days before Valentine's Day we invited people on twitter to send us photos, which they did. And since this day was also Chinese New Year (which is huge in Bangkok, Thailand), the graphics department added illustrations of dragons and went for Chinese characters -- yes, Chinese characters -- in the main headlines on A1 and the back cover -- to wish people both a happy Valentine's day and a Chinese New Year. Of course, the Chinese characters had an English translation.
