This is a logo I created for CE San Diego, a new scavenger hunt business here in San Diego, started up by my cousin and her friend.

According to their web site, the goal of each scavenger hunt is to “bring people together to explore the place that we call home! We will lead you on a scavenger hunt using your personal navigation system to find pre-designated spots around San Diego county.”

I thought it was a cool concept, so I volunteered to design them a logo.

The larger logo is the final design I came up with.  Down below are multiple color combinations of the blue green and brown they chose to give the logo an “earthy” feel.

This is a little illustration I started working on awhile ago as a splash graphic for my freelance web site.  I’ve since though of taking it in another direction, but just thought I would post this anyway.

I guess this really doesn’t have much to do with breakfast itself, but the first thing that came to mind was the early morning.  I decided to illustrate a tired rooster with an energy drink in his hand since that has been a breakfast for me quite a bit in the past.  Forget coffee…give me cancer in a can.

A few months ago I bought a notebook and decided to start keeping a personal journal to gather all my thoughts and ideas, but I soon found it to be a difficult task.  In my day-to-day life, as I’m sure it is with most of us, I hardly ever pick up a writing utensil.  Mostly all the writing I do is on a computer. If I do pick up a pen it’s usually just to sign my name on some document I probably didn’t even take the time to read.

Over the years I’ve notice my handwriting to be decreasing in quality.  My hand cramps up nearly every time it comes in contact with a pen or pencil.  And good luck trying to read it unless you specialize in decryption or hieroglyphics.

With the way technology is advancing, I wonder if the pen and paper era is quickly coming to a close, and what the world is going to look like when this age-old art-form is laid to rest.

When the topic “Giant” was chosen for this weeks illustration challenge the first thing that popped in my mind was the San Francisco Giants since I’ve been watching a lot of baseball lately.  So I decided to go with a baseball theme, but instead of it being the SF Giants playing, this time it would be actual giants.

I found this fun little application for Mac OSX called FunBooth which works with the built in isight cam and allows you place different images on your video feed in real time.  This little video was inspired by a comedy series on youtube called “Timmy the Bounty Hunter” by ER92840.

Just my thoughts after seeing the movie To Save A Life.
