Protest the Ideology not the vote

Iranians are protesting and I suppose that is something lovers of freedom can take pride in but these protests leave me somewhat baffled. The Iranians are contesting the elections under the Ayatollah controlled regime but they are not contesting the regime itself which begs the question: what policies are Mousavi planning to enact that are so drastically different than Ahmadinejad? The answer is his policies cannot and would not stray too far from what the current President is doing because Mousavi, as the rest of the candidates, were prescreened by the "power that be" in Iran.

I Want GM To Fail!

Today I commited to the largest purchase of my entire life. The only problem was that I didn’t even have a say in it. I am now the not so proud owner of Government Motors (GM) and quite frankly I think I could have done a little better with my $10.5 billion dollars. As though we needed anymore proof that the Conservative party, led by Stephen Harper, has redefined conservatism in Canada as a light form of liberalism Harper has commited to, if not the largest, one of the largest government bailouts in Canadian history and quite frankly Canadians had absolutely no say (unless you are apart of the CAW). I officially see no reason to support the Conservative Party of Canada over the Liberal party (or the NDP for that matter).

Bigger Government = Less Taxes? Not Likely

Cavuto of Fox News lays out what common sense people already know. You can't grow the government and expect the cost of running the government to go down. A little math lesson below:

var flv = "http://media2.foxnews.com/042209/042209_cav_sense_B1200.flv";
var image = "http://www.nndb.com/people/048/000044913/neil-cavuto-120.jpg";
embedVideo(flv,image);

Harper Liberal Light

The latest poll numbers don't bold well for the Conservative party of Canada. The Liberals have retaken the lead in Ontario, up in the West and way ahead of the Conservatives in Quebec (though they still trail the Bloc). It seems clear that Canadians are deciding that as long as the government is going to spend record amounts and give away bailouts to every teary eyed multi-national company it may as well be a socialist-light Liberal government. To give Harper his due he seems to play well for Canada on the world stage because his rhetoric matches what most of the world non-elite know to be the truth. The world is not better off with governments all around the world taking over and bailing out privately owned enterprises.

The Province of Pimps

I haven't had an entry in a while though I've had much opinion on bailouts, blunders and down right briberies (see Chyslers threat to the Canadian government) but I'll try to correct that in April. Washinton genius' have now decided that bankrupcy is the way to go for GM (heretofor known as Government Motors). The only problem is the decision comes AFTER they have received billions in handouts. Meanwhile back in Ottawa the Liberals have decided that the Conservatives are no longer to disclose exactly what they plan on using the 3 billion dollar stimulus money for.

One of the greatest problems with with Western countries today is that decent and honorable people have no business going into public service as a vocation. It is the province of pimps and whores; a playground of charlatans and thieves.

I haven't commented much on foreign policy since the new American administration was sworn in but the latest negotiation tactics are somewhat baffling.

Washington has told Moscow that Russian help in resolving Iran's nuclear program would make its missile shield plans for Europe unnecessary, a Russian daily said on Monday, citing White House sources.

U.S. President Barack Obama made the proposal on Iran in a letter to his Russian counterpart, Dmitry Medvedev, Kommersant said, referring to unidentified U.S. officials.

More in the extended entry...

"Family Planning" Proposed to Stimulate Economy

The crooks in Washington have no respect for peoples hard earned money. In what is a huge slap in the face to everyone who works hard for their money the democrats in congress, lead by Nancy Pelosi, and of course the new Leader Barack Obama have decided that one of the best ways to stimulate the economy is too pump hundreds of millions of dollars into state medicaid in order to finance contraceptions.

Her Justification

Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost,” Pelosi responded. “The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children’s health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those--one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.”

America's Golden Calf Moment

For more than a year the American mainstream media have been worshiping the one who they wanted to be President, Barack Obama. That live onair praise has turned into a full blown act of idol worship by the majority of the United States of America. The media have over the past year refused to ask this man a difficult or pressing question. They have never questioned his motives and they even refused to bring up the issue of his non-existent birth certificate. If a free press is truly as important a pillar as we have always assumed it is in a democracy then we may indeed be watching a once great nation in its last throes.

Israel's Response Disproportionate....And?

One of the oddest condemnations of Israel's attacks have been that they are not measured or disproportionate. Now, if you were reading this site back in 2006 when Israel was destroying Lebanon you would see that I can be quite sympathetic to the plight of the Arabs who get bombed by Israel. There is however a slight difference this time around. Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers and Israel started a war over it. Not only is that not measured but it wasn't at all wise as they, by all accounts, achieved nothing during the war of 2006. This time around a war was declared on Israel...

Criminal Enterprise: Bell Mobility

Rarely am I able to compare Canadian companies with those in Saudi Arabia, Nigeria or Afghanistan but Bell Mobility is certainly dangerously close to that line. In our latest battle they have decided that my service has been upgraded (with the poor quality of the service I can hardly disagree that it needs to be upgraded) and my contract has been extended for another 3 years. Sounds fine right; I mean this happens hundreds of times per day no doubt. There is only one problem, I didn't upgrade my service, I was never contacted, never signed anything so how did it happen? Well, apparently Bell mobility knows what I want better than I do. After an hour of arguing with them (keep in mind we did this for an hour or so about 2 weeks back) they have unilaterally decided that we did in fact upgrade our service and if we want out of the contract we will have to pay them $200+ dollars.

The Party of Anti-Voting

For those of you who haven't been watching Canadian politics let's quickly go over the Ignatieff Coup. In mid-October the Liberals were resoundingly rejected by Canadians and it was clear to everyone that Stephen Dion couldn't lead his own party let alone the entire country. The clear mandate for the Liberals was to find a leader who could string a sentence together and take a position on an issue. During this time we were assured by Stephen Dion that he would step down as leader once the Liberal leadership race was over (another wishy washy decision to be sure). Move forward a month and Dion had already forgotten the reaction Canadians had to his economic plans and saw only a future of a Dion lead Canada.

Suspendiing Parliament Greatest Economic Stimulus

There was certainly reason to be concerned when the universal thinking in the country was that parliament would go forward as usual and the Conservatives would have to keep the Bloc, the NDP and the Liberals happy while trying to keep freedom alive in Canadian markets. Luckily, when all seemed lost, the incoherent and indecisive Dion (Heretofore Dion the Indecisive) tried to grab power giving Stephen Harper a reason not to work with Parliament for a month or so. In one swoop Stephen Dion may have saved the Canadian economy. Now Stephen Harper can do nothing and allow the free market to correct. Hopefully this means no bailouts for major corporations (at least for a while). It seems clear to me that the worst thing that the government can do at this time is call a useless and incompetent parliament into session.

Ok, if anyone had any doubts as to what the bailout was really about (a heist of a nation) one need not look any further than the latest cries for a bailout coming from the auto industry. One request in particular caught my attention. A lady (her name and position do not come to mind at this time)sat before the United States Senate saying in essence that the auto industry was the creator of the American middle class and that alone meant that they were entitled to a bailout. She argued that while the banks are important they did nothing for the middle class (I suppose the middle class don't need mortgages). She told congress: this is not a bailout it's a loan. more after the fold

Path To McCain Victory goes through Virginia

CNN, MSNBC, ABC,CBS and the rest of the mainstream media (Heretofore the Drive by Media) have all written off John McCain's chances in the election and in Virginia in particular. John King of CNN today was quoted as saying that the McCain campaign can't think of a scenario where they win without flipping PA to a red state. I don't by this one bit. I would watch Virginia on election to figure out how good McCain's chances really are. Keep in mind that Virginia is a traditinoally red state and although it has been trending Democratic during the last few years (mainly as a result of a demographic shit in Northern VA) it hasn't gone for a Democrat since 1964

Memory Lane: Obama will Take California over Hillary Says Poll

One of the funny things about American politics is how much money the pollster probably make without having to have a good track record. Over at Pollster.com and Free Republic people go crazy from day to day over who is up in the polls and who is down in the polls. Zogby showed Obama up by 12 about a week ago until McCain closed to within 3 (in a matter of about 2 or 3 days). That's tens of millions of people swinging wildly in 3 days, does anyone really believe that? I am going to be posting some of the more outrages polls that were trumpeted during the primary season. Needless to say these polls were WAY off, at times as much as 20 points. It seems clear to me that a lot of these pollsters are trying to push the idea that Barack Obama is inevitable but if their past is any indication they may not be entirely accurate. Below I will post Zogby's poll for California just days before "super Tuesday"

Obama on Wealth Redistribution

Just in case there were any doubts as to Barack Obama's intentions for America I think the video below makes it quite clear that his MO is to redistribute the wealth. The debate in the video is how best to redistribute the wealth,, through the courts or legislatively. The election in the states, to be fair, should be much more open. If socialism is what Americans want then good for them they have turned a corner of some sort. The problem however is that the media is purposely hiding the intent of Barack Obama (Probably because they suspect that American's don't really want it).

Stephane Dion Steps Down...Sort Of

In Typical Dion fashion the Leader of the Liberal party managed to make a threat of action without actually taken action. He has decided that he will step down as Leader of the Liberal party (here is the kicker) when a new Leader of the Liberals party emerges. Interesting isn't it. Does he provide leadership and suggest a timeline for new leadership? If you believe that, you must not be very familiar with who Stephane Dion is. He is the ultimate fence sitter. One wonders if Dion thinks that he has the final say on who an acceptable leader would be.

Stephen Dion may go down as the worst Minority leader in Canadian history.
Sarah Palin on Life: Throwing down the Gaunlet on Barack's views on Abortion (Must Read)

Sarah Palin gave a speech today and hammered Barack Obama's position on Abortion. It seems as though the McCain campaign wants to make Abortion an issue in the campaign (although I'm not sure McCain is as comfortable with the debate as Sarah would be). This is a must read. I think the Obama campaign should just leave it alone and continue to hit on the economy.
Angling for a Majority Government

I can't help but think that Stephen Harper knows what he is doing this election. As Canadians know during the last election when it looked as though the Conservatives were going to get an Majority government strategic voting played a major roll and all though polls were suggesting that Harper may have been able to pull of a Majority the reality was a very weak minority government (although as a result of Dion's weak leadership Harper pretty much governed like he had a weak Majority anyways). This year the polls are suggesting that Canadians want another Conservative minority government but could that be by design?

The world economy has crumbled since the bill to bail out American banks (worth 850 billion dollars) was passed and still no one is able to call the bottom of the market. Again, the media is playing it's unique role in scaring the people to death but now I'm starting to wonder why. CNN's Ali Velshi spent the immediate days after the initial failure of the bailout bill telling the all of his viewers how much trouble they would find themselves in if the bill did now pass and has spent the days since then talking the markets up (although the downturn in the economy has only gotten worst).

Raise Gov. Palin's Profile: How John McCain can Still Win the Election

To me it is clear that Americans love Gov. Sarah Palin or at the very least a majority of Americans are inclined to love her. I know polls are just polls but I think there is something to be learned by some of the polls that have come out recently. While people want to love her they are somewhat fearful of having her be a "heartbeat away" from the Presidency. I believe that many undecided?s? and a lot of women want to vote for her (ticket), want to believe she is ready but because of the job the MSM has done on her most Americans can't imagine her leading the nation in a crisis. God, however, works in mysterious ways. America is currently in one of the largest crises in recent history and finds itself not knowing what the future holds.

In a shocking turn of events the sky refused to defy physics today as the stock market rallied. The Mainstream Media (MSM) showed its frustration that not passing the bailout did not cause the complete breakdown of the system and those who voted against the bailout showed how unfazed and fearless they were by taking a vacation (which possibly included a few naps. Still unconfirmed)

S&P/TSX 11886.26 +601.19
TSX V 1416.28 +34.25
DJIA 10835.61 +470.16
NASDAQ 2088.12 +104.39
S&P 500 1161.57 +55.18

The rich, the poor and the middle class made their beds and now we have to lay in it. I understand the consequences of allowing the markets to fail and not passing a bailout but it seems to me that it is necessary to go through this pain in order to ensure that it never happens again. Solomon, the wise king of Israel has said that there is a time for everything in this world, under the sun. There is a time to be happy and a time to be sad, a time to be rich and a time to be poor. A time to lead and a time to follow and he is absolutely right. If the government decides to bailout large corporations we will not overcome this principal of the world in which we live. We will only delay it.

Is there a potential for hyper inflation? I would say so.

I've said it before and I will say it again. Companies, all companies, large and small must be allowed to fail. The government simply cannot afford to buy the debt of once rich and wealthy companies who have failed to properly assess their risk. If you are smart enough to weasel your way (as a company) into a position that sees your richest as among the most important in the world then you should be smart enough to avoid bankruptcy (even while collecting government subsidies and grants).

while I'm not big on the idea of "Going green" and more taxes I am certainly for more voices speaking against the status quo nature of Canadian politics. Now that the Green party has an MP in parliament it will be interesting to see how the media tries to keep them out of the debate (hopefully they will be unable to). In the spirit of the modern political shakeups that we've been seeing lately this coup by the Green Party Leadership was simply grand.

All that said I will be rather disturbed if they try to collude with the Liberals and the NDP to keep Harper out of power (and consequently put Dion and his tax happy "green" policies in power). It will be up to Elizabeth May now do show Canadians that she isn't just another Conservative foil but a true alternative to Canadians

Sarah Palin Selected as VP: Thank You Senator Obama

Sarah Palin is, to say the least, a different kind of politician. She's not a career politician type and she seems quite relatable.

I have not been the biggest advocate of Obama's "Change" rhetoric but I must confess that he has indeed changed politics in America. Without his lowering of the bar of who can be the leader of the country Sarah Palin may not have even been considered as a VP nomination. Far from an underhanded attack on Obama I am thanking him for the change and the freshness he has brought to American Politics.

Usain Bolt coasted to a world record and an olympic championship with a time of 9.69 Simply unbelievable, he coasted! I am truly at a loss for words. What would he have run if he ran through to the end. I have always held firm to the belief that Ben Johnson was remained the fastest man to ever run (9.79 when it truly matter, slowing down). Today, Usain Bolt has destroyed that belief. He is the greatest sprinter of all time. No questions asked!

Lakers Pierced in Boston

If game one was any indication basketball fans are in for a thrilling series. We can only hope that it goes seven games. The NBA uses a 2-3-2 format which seems to give the edge to Boston (Does anyone see Boston losing 3 in a row?). This means that game two is an important get for the Lakers. All that being said it's hard to go against Kobe considering how he has been playing of late. He got 26 points in game one and that type of containment will have have to continue if Boston is going to pull this off. I will take LA in 7 but it is not as sure a bet as Detroit over Pittsburgh. These teams seem to be much more evenly matched

Obama's Hamas and Iran policies define Incoherent

Barack Obama seems to be a little confused in regards to his foreign policy vise a vie talking to "terrorist". He laid out, over the past few months, what amounts to the most inconsistent and incoherent policy as it relates to Iran. He has been, in recent weeks, condemning Hamas while constantly putting forward the idea of direct negotiations with Iran. That doesn't seem problematic until you add his other beliefs into the equation. He said in a recent speech condemning comments made by George Bush during a celebration of Israel's 60th anniversary of statehood that Iran was financially backing Hamas, and by proxy, its attacks against Israeli civilians.

Read on?

I'm going on record, albeit a little late, that the wings will beat Dallas in 7 games and pittsburg will take 5 games to dispose of Philly. Pittsburg hasn't been involved in a tough series yet and they are going to be reaping the benefits of that during Finals. I am sure the young legs won't hurt either.

Detroit just seems like a powerhouse now eventhough in the first round all I really saw was another team that was built for the 82 game season but not tough enough for the playoffs. According to the theories of the day there is a real need to rid the world of its dependency on crude oil and more importantly despot leaders in the Middle East and some parts of South America and Africa. Not only is it immorally reprehensible to try to establish a pro western government in a nation in which you have very little understanding (The west in general has shown very little understanding of Afghanistan's tribal system) it is far worst to prop up a minority population (Tajiks, Turks, Uzbeks, Shiia) to rule over the majority.

Mainstream Christianity Wrong On Salvation

Mainstream Protestantism has a simple doctrine about salvation: give your life to Jesus Christ and you will have eternal life because you will have been saved. Some go as far as to say that this salvation can, under no circumstances, be lost. Sounds fantastic! Unfortunately it is completely wrong and flies squarely in the face of what Jesus Christ said and of course what the apostles would later say

The title is not a misprint. Ontario, in its desire not to offend any segment of the population, is considering a recommendation that would allow Islamic law to arbitrate certain family disputes. Before jumping to conclusions it should be noted that this is a completely voluntary arbitration and there are similar laws on the books for Catholics and Jewish institutions. It has, for some reason, sparked a massive outcry by the international community when Sharia was introduced:

The Iranian Response: Destabilize and Conquer

Having read some of the diaries on DKOS with Iran as the focus I have noticed a somewhat unsettling trend among the community. Many people have tried to imagine the course of action the Iranians would take if attacked by either Israel or the U.S. Some of the more popular conclusions are that Iran will send ground troops into Iraq in order to further destabilize the situation or that they will send Shiab missiles into Israel for mass casualties to the population. A deeper understanding of the goal of Iran shows that both of these responses are inefficient and unlikely.

More Below ?

The Right To Improve: Why Iran Has The Right To Nuclear Technology

Iran has refused to back down from its position that they have the right to produce its own nuclear energy and enrich its own uranium. When considering their claims it is quite difficult to disagree with their position. America is in the process of developing new nukes and with rising energy prices they have put a lot of money into developing nuclear energy plants themselves. The whole of the western world is in the process of debating possibilities to support the increased demand in oil. Is it just that the west alone has the right to develop modern day technology? To be fair and balanced the IAEA does have concerns about Iran?s forthrightness in terms of nuclear materials and facilities.

More below the fold:

Ahmadinejad Outlines Iran?s Nuclear Position

The Islamic Republic of Iran spoke to the General assembly on Saturday and among other things outlined the latest Iranian position regarding its nuclear program in terms of building confidence with the international community. Sadly, the new proposals, though obviously well thought out, will have little to no effect on the position of the EU-3 and the United States. It seems to me that Scott Ritter was completely right in his assessment that the EU-3 negotiations are simply being used by the United States as pretext for war with Iran.

Chavez?s Fight Against Poverty

Condelezza Rice, the secretary of States of the U.S, says that Hugo Chavez is a threat to democracy in Latin America and Donald Rumsfeld hasn?t been any kinder with his words. Hugo Chavez has been painted as a ruthless dictator who has, with his new constitution, destroyed democracy in Venezuela and who will certainly culminate his rule by destroying its economy. This is the type of propaganda that gets fed through North America?s main sources of media but is that the truth or is that our governments feeding us more lies about a democratically elected leader who remains at odds with the ideas of capitalism and American imperialism? It should come as no surprise that any government who refuses to sell America the resources of its people at unfairly low prices is ?a threat to American security?. The truth about Chavez and his Bolivarian revolution has no resemblance to the consistent rhetoric of, in particular, the Bush Administration.

America The Blind: OPEN YOUR EYES!

Having watched developments in the Middle East and comparing them with the reaction of the American Media and its leaders I find myself asking if democrats are just playing politics or if they actually believe what they are saying. Recent remarks by many democrat leaders must be leaving the majority of democrats & Americans at large believing that they were wrong all along and that the Bush doctrine may have saved western society. Joe Liberman & Bill Richardson to name a few have crossed into the realm of people who would rather see American world domination over the prosperity of Gods children in the world; a realm of people who would call for every government in the world to be a democracy simultaneously showing the power of dictatorships through their dictatorial international policies; A realm of people that says to the world, ?I am your king, follow my ways?. This does nothing more than show that it is not the Bush administration that has lost its way but it is America.

Civil War Could Spark Intra-Islamic Clash

Condelezza Rice seems to think that a civil war in Iraq will spawn more civil wars throughout the region because, goes her theory, Al Qaeda wants that type of unrest to further its goals. On its face this scenario is scary but Rice gives no explanation on how such conclusions were reached (which isn?t an oddity in modern politics and with this administration in particular). Other pundits however have expressed similar concerns but in the real world sound bites do not a policy make and blaming Al-Qaeda for everything and assuming all things run though Al-Qaeda in the Middle East is simply not the case.

Planning Ahead: The Wisdom of Iran?s Nuclear Energy Program

If nuclear technology is clean and desired in the United States, Canada and other industrialized nations there should be an understanding that Western cultures are not the only nations that have a responsibility to the environment and to their local populations, national security and economic growth. The entire debate over Iran?s nuclear energy program has been framed by the leaders of the world as solely a nuclear weapons debate and very little has been made of the constant claims and seeming validations of independent bodies that Iran?s nuclear program is for energy use. Without the filter of the mainstream media it isn?t hard to argue that Iran is being a responsible citizen of the world by trying to use a cleaner source of energy. I will write, for the most part, with the assumption for now that Iran is indeed trying to develop nuclear plants to supply their energy needs.

An Unfortunate Necessity

If the United States stays they will prevent civil war. That may be true (it is a possibility but not an absolute) but the idea that that is any kind of solution is simply wrong. The United States tries to show itself as a messianic figure able to solve all of the world?s problems if only given enough authority. The sad reality may be that a better Iraq would come out of a civil war. Not to say that a civil war is the best solution but an unoccupied nation is part one of any long term solution. It seems as if unoccupied land at this time would end up in civil war which is why I make the statement. Afghanistan went through civil war and they were better off for it (of course they are right back where they were because of international intervention post 9/11).

Saddam Hussein, Leader of Iraq

Saddam Hussein has called on the people of Iraq to join together and rather than fighting one another fight the coalition forces. The courtroom immediately cut the audio feed and removed all media from the proceedings. This drastic reaction demonstrates who owns this joke of a court. An Iraqi judge, though primarily an administrator of justice, should not be looking after the safety of the American occupying forces over the safety and unity of Iraqis. A call to fight the people who have been raping, robbing and murdering the land of your people and the people themselves seems like what a leader ought to be doing at this stage of the occupation. The lack of such leadership is in part why Iraq remains on the brink of civil war. Al Sadr, the new prime minister and to a lesser extent Sistani have showed little if any desire to do what is best for the majority of Iraqis; rather they continue to pursue their own agenda while repeating standard American propaganda about the insurgency.

The attack on Qana was deplorable and inexcusable and even under these circumstances the United States of America (The supposed impartial broker for peace) still refuses to condemn Israel's actions even at the most basic level. Israel's supporters throughout the world continue to use the defense that Hizb'Allah is targeting civilians and to the contrary the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) does not purposely and methodically target civilians.
Mexican Murder: Race Playing a Role

Is Race playing a role in how the media is covering the murder investigation of two Canadians in Mexico? The sad truth is that, among other factors, race has played a major role. From radio to the television everyone has come out in full support of the two Canadian suspects. It is hard to envision such staunch support for the suspects were they two black Canadians, Latino Canadians or for that matter two men. The fact that two "pretty" white ladies, termed "Soccer Moms", have been implicated is playing a major role. The perception is that pretty white women do not commit such vicious crimes. They have been vindicated by almost everyone, save the government who has to their credit withheld judgment until further investigation. The key here is that WITHOUT ANY evidence Canadians have gone to bat for these women. I long for the day when such support, and a ?prove it? attitude, will be found for Canadians accused of crimes across the racial spectrum.

Israel?s Unjust and Unnecessary Response

Israel is showing the entire world why its critics are absolutely right in suggesting that they have become a destabilizing force in the region. I will be clear that I don?t agree with Hezbollah?s actions although I completely understand their logic. That being said that does not give Israel the right to bomb all of Lebanon mercilessly.

Cutting the Umbilical Cord: Canada?s Need to Diversify Trade

China and Canada have signed a new agreement aimed and expanding trade among the two countries. China, Canada?s second largest trading partner, is modernizing and its economy is growing rapidly and in short they need resources; Canada is able to provide those resources. There is no doubt that the United States, who relies on Canada for 17% of Crude oil, sees China?s interest in the Canadian tar sands as a National Security issue for the simple fact that in 2001 the U.S. National Energy Policy report cited the development of the tar sands as a key component of Washington's strategy to ensure a secure supply of energy; should Canada decide to boost its relationships with other oil hungry nations the American economy is sure to suffer. Such a policy seems to be contrary to Canadian interest because 85% of Canada?s exports go to the United States. However, Canada?s depends on the American economy far too much and must increase its trading partnerships.

The Solution to the War in Iraq

Certainly I am not so prescient as to be the only person in this world to know the exact solution to the war in Iraq. I think it's been clear for some time and if troop surge policies continue to be the path taken by the United States government, in particular the Bush administration, it will become the only solution that can lead to a victory in Iraq (in terms of American interest). The quick answer is a Secular Sunni dictator supported by the United States government, and I will explain why.

What is Canada Financing: Islamic Clerics Force Deportation of Christians

Support for the Canadian mission in Afghanistan has been diminishing at a rapid pace because of the recent increase in Canadian casualties. If the casualties are the sole reason for Canadians dismay of the mission it more than likely shows a lack of understanding by Canadians in terms of the government that Canadian blood and money is supporting. Much was made of the Afghan's decision to put a newly born again Christian to death because of his recent conversion from Islam which should have been reason enough by our government to reconsider its support for the Afghan government but it only (for some reason) strengthen their resolve to keep Karzai in power.
