The purpose of the Leadership in Public Service program is to celebrate and support University of Maryland School of Law students in public service through community service and pro bono projects. Ultimately, we hope to inspire law students to become more involved in making a real difference in their communities as future leaders in the legal profession. For more info, check out this site.

UMB Outreach School Projects: Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer UMB students, faculty, and staff are needed to help mentor, tutor, and support youth at Baltimore City schools. Time Commitment: Beginning in late September, volunteers generally are needed 4 hours per month, every other Monday from 3-5 pm or every other Thursday from 3-5 pm. However, volunteers also are needed to help with one-time events at our partner schools from time to time. Like computers? Like surfing the World Wide Web? Ever think about managing a website? Looking for web savvy individuals to manage the UM CLS website ...

This website was built using Google Sites. Thus we are seeking individuals that have working level knowledge of Google Sites, HTML, Google Docs, MS Office, and graphics programs such as photoshop, fireworks, etc. This position entails updating webpages, posting articles, building surveys, monitoring emails and feedback databases. This is much easier now than in the past, as most programs these days are moving the user away from hard level coding to "what you see is what you get." Therefore experience is desired, but if you are feeling particularly called to serve, we will train you.

Coffee with Conversation

This year we're featuring "Coffee with Conversation." It's a chance for prospective members, new law students, and transfers to get acquainted with one of our members. They want to know what law school is like, professors to take, what our chapter is about, and about opportunities to serve the Lord while in law school.
