This is not the only smile Chucho gave us during the show. While his band was playing and one of the guys was doing a solo he looked at this guy with joy, kind of fulfilment, maybe because he is also an educator and he feels music with the heart.

Chucho Valdes is one of the most renouned pianist/musicians of the last century. The Melbourne International Jazz Festival was proud to bring his music to Melbourne, and he did not disappoint the audiences, I saw more than one Melbournian moving their head and cheering after each song. His band is full of talent. A great event.

Hilarious and inspiring master class. James Carter, Leonard King and Gerard Gibbs gave tips on life and music creation, sharing knowledge, experiences and learning from each other.
The trio showed a great sense of humor and James Carter created an athmosphere were primary school students and veteran jazzist enjoyed the evening.
