Museum Month is back for the 23rd year in San Diego County. Presented by Macy’s, this popular event allows participants to enjoy half-off entry fees at 40 San Diego Museum Council member museums.

Museum Month Passes may be picked up starting February 1, 2012 at any of Macy’s fourteen locations in the San Diego Area, Temecula and Imperial Valley. The passes are free to obtain while supplies last. With a pass, up to four visitors can gain admission to any of the 40 participating museums for half-price. Plus, you can use the pass all month long! Museum Month, created by the San Diego Museum Council in 1989, draws tens of thousands of visitors to the region’s museums, historical sites, educational institutions, and cultural centers. The savings encourages locals and visitors to explore the variety of arts, culture and science-oriented destinations. From the Oceanside Museum of Art down to the Tijuana Estuary, there are ample opportunities for edutainment, creating memories and fun for the whole family.

12/10/11 This free, distinctly California celebration features boats decorated for the holiday season that will sail around Mission Bay starting from the Quivira Basin area. A highly anticipated event in the San Diego community, more than 100 vessels take to the water for the parade.

Join 10,000 runners and walkers helping Father Joe Villages serve 1.7 million meals this year. Families, pets, youth groups, local business and military teams.

All participants will receive a colorful long-sleeve shirt. Dogs participate for free and will receive collectible event bandanas (while supplies last).

Post-race fun takes place at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion with the blues sounds of San Diego favorite Bill Magee Blues Band. The festivities also include pie samples and sales, a free beer garden, and Father Joe Carroll signing his bobble head collectibles.

VROAM.nethas a new website with features such as being able to search on availability, and obtain complete price quotes for units! The left hand page of the home screen has an area where you can specify the number of rooms you want, or the number of people you want to sleep, and for what dates. When searching with this information the website will return results for properties that match your dates. It will include homes that have availability with dates similar to your request, too, so that you can choose what works best.

Mission Bay: Sea World 9:30 p.m. (July 3-July 5) Viewing also available along Crown Point, and all around the Sea World and Mission Bay area.

It's such a fitting way to celebrate our nation's birthday, and though it's not the case, it's as if fireworks displays were created just for the Fourth of July. And what better way to top off a day (or weekend) of gathering with friends, having a picnic and barbecue, hitting the beach or park than a grand fireworks display.
