1. Desktop Tower Defense

Desktop Tower Defense is a fun puzzle / strategy game where you have to protect your desktop from invaders by spending money on attacking pieces and building a maze for them to follow. Creeps enter from the top and from the left. You must stop them from reaching the other side or you will lose lives. You start with 20 lives, and when they are gone the game is over.

Taggify

Taggify is a web widget which allows bloggers and publishers enhance their sites by adding image tooltips linked to certain image’s reqions. Image regions become clickable and tagged with some title, description and link. When visitor moves mouse over the image, Taggify widget shows a nice tooltip with related content provided by the publisher.

Once you mark out the images and add textual notes for the person or the object, this is what it looks like:

TipImage

Tipmage is a javascript class aimed at creating and managing tooltips (or “notes”) over images. It looks very similar to the Bing home page. Tipmage makes it possible to mark rectangular portions of an image and attach a description to each one of them. The description will be shown as a tooltip when the mouse is over the right section of the image.

The class can work in two ways: in normal mode it just shows the tooltips, while in edit mode it also allows the user to edit them. An external CSS stylesheet allows to customize the appearance of the user interface.

FotoNotes

Fotonotes is probably the oldest and trend-setting library for annotating images. Probably the best known derivation of FotoNotes is Flickr’s note feature.

Step 2 - Select other details like screen size, color depth, javascript, etc.

Step 3 - Wait for your screenshots. Depending on the queue, the results start appearing almost immediately.

BrowserCam takes compatibility testing one step ahead of BrowserShots. 1. If you’re a video publisher, you can take advantage of the new MPEG-4 based H.264 codec along with the high end AAC sound. Technically it means you can stream videos beyond 720p (which is 1080p at the moment) as Microsoft writes “720p+”. Along side, Microsoft is touting about its new streaming feature named “Smooth streaming” which according to Washington Post means that if your bandwidth is above 3 Mbps, HD streaming, as it normally should, will take place whereas, if it goes below 3 MBPS, smooth streaming’s dynamic capabilities will be triggered and the video will be divide into multiple chunks so that the user experience remains consistent on all sorts of networks.

2. Another KEY feature that the users would be thankful for is “out of browser support allowing Web applications to work on the desktop” which basically means, you develop everything on Silverlight and it works everywhere, on the web and on the desktop! So no different coding for different platforms now! We’ve yet to see how Adobe reacts to this as its already promoting Adobe AIR for the same purpose as microsoft!

The Google Chart API is an extremely simple tool that lets you easily create a chart from some data and embed it in a webpage. Charts are created dynamically. You embed the data and formatting parameters in the URL, and Google returns a PNG image of the chart. @font-face allows authors to specify online fonts to display text on their webpages. By allowing authors to provide their own fonts, @font-face eliminates the need to depend on the limited number of fonts users have installed on their computers.

The result? We’re sure to see more fonts being used DIRECTLY rather than creating an image in Photoshop and using that to display normal text (to satisfy your clients?)
